New dungeon themes
Some time ago I was thinking about the setup of the zelda dungeons and concluded that in every Zelda game they had pretty much the same themes.
Every time you have fire dungeon, water dungeon etc. etc. So I was Thinking what kind of new original dungeon themes would you like to see in the next Zelda? For example what about a lost village where you have to explore every house to get to the boss or a psychic themed dungeon where the game plays mindtricks with you. |

Re: New dungeon themes
I know they can do better than just Fire, Earth Water and so on. I wouldn't like to see the elemental dungeons taken out, but new themes couldn't hurt. I'd like to see something like a mechanical dungeon, or a light temple. Oh, or some really huge tower you have to climb, and you can fall off the edge. I don't know. I'm sure they'll think of something. That psychic dungeon you suggested sounds like fun.

Re: New dungeon themes
I would love to see a dark spirit theme in one of the dungeons. Like "ghost paths" which you can't see like in aLttP where you had to use the Bombos medalion (is that the right one? lol) to se it. You could also have the spirits, skeletons and so on from the old games in there like the poe's with new things added such as "mirror doors" that change the shape of the dungeon as you go through them causing a new layout that doesnt switch back untill you go through a mirror door or something along those lines.

I think it would be really cool if there was a temple which in the day was the day temple or sun temple, but at night it would be the night or moon temple. Also there would be two races which were the worshipers at the temple (like zoras at water temple, gorons at fire temple etc.) that were seperated by day and night because an evil curse or something was changing the temple, and Link would have to do certain things in the temple according to if it was light or dark out, and you could do something in the day temple that would trigger something happening in the night temple in order to beat the temple. And when you beat it, it would turn into one temple which both races could go to, and live in harmony like before the curse was bestowed upon their temple.

Re: New dungeon themes
Well they seem to like using the "elements" I like the idea of a night/day temple, and you would have to wait for night to get to different places and vice versa. As for other temples, there could be one for each race. A goron temple, Zora temple and so on. The Hylian Temple would be cool.

Re: New dungeon themes
Day/Night temple could be very awesome indeed, especially if combined with the sun's song. I could also picture the mirror shield playing a large role in such a temple. For example, you would have to change day to night in order to see the light, which you then reflect with your mirror shield. It is hard to think of more reasons of why you would have to change day to night though!
Another new theme could be a sky theme. They did this in Minish Cap with Sky Palace, and it was my favorite dungeon. A dungeon high in the skies, littered with plenty of wind currents to make use of with some sort of flying device could be fun. Another one could be a true sand dungeon, taking place inside of a piramid. Now I know this seems very similar to the Spirit Temple, but think, was there in actual sand in the Spirit Temple? There could be "sand pits" that you fall through. A common enemy in the dungeon would be little worms (mini-Molgeras) that pop in and out of the sand, spraying it everywhere. In addition to dungeons/temples, where you are actually going there to acquire an item, Nintendo could throw in some mini-caves. These would give the game more content and gameplay. Featuring no theme, the only goal in these dungeons would be to get to the other side to find new land to explore. At the very end, you would open up a warp point through the cave; therefore, future visits through the cave would not be long and annoying! |
