Exclamation NEW Zelda Info! DS, Gamecube and the timeline

I have translated the following, new DS Zelda info AND info that Gamecube Zelda is set AFTER The Wind Waker in the chronological timeline.

Eiji Aonuma (Nintendo): "There will be without any doubt, a Zelda for the DS. In fact, you assume that the graphics which we developed around Four Swords largely contributed to the graphics which we had to conceive for the DS version. The concepts which worked on Four Swords formed part of the examples that we experienced while thinking on the possible gameplay for the DS version and the advantages that the double screen allows.
It was theoretical, but today, it would be a great shame, and even I would feel ashamed that if we did not make the opposite demonstration of a good true Zelda on DS.

The next episode of Zelda being developed for GameCube is already completed, but I can absolutely say nothing of it. You know, the setting: even the title and the story are still secret! This next great Zelda, which is a continuation of the WindWaker episode chronologically, will release in Japan at at the end of 2005. I am engaged 200 % in the development of this title and I can betray one secrecy of it: it will be very, very beautiful."

Considering that this is a translation of a translation, and it includes out-of-character things like Aonuma saying he's working on it "200%", I won't take this too literally.

Well if the interview is correct then Zelda'05 "will [be] release in Japan at the end of 2005". If (that's a big "If") Japan pulls another stunt like they did with FSA, then we may see Zelda'05 before them. If not, then they could release it the same time as they do (I think that would be an excelent choice for them. Since it will be released in the end of 2005 then you know a lot of kids would want it for the Holidays), or we could have it durring this time next year.

I'm not that surprized about hearing that Zelda'05 is a chronologicaly after tWW...it doesn't have to mean that tWW Link is the same as Zelda'05 Link because tWW was chronologically after OoT Link and they weren't one and the same.

Re: NEW Zelda Info! DS, Gamecube and the timeline

I don't like the idea of a late '05 release if it's already finished. I would've expected Japan to get it in Summer. And I'm glad to hear it's set after TWW. Meaning it shouldn't be the Hero Of Time. And I'm very glad to hear it.

This March? Maybe next year's March (since it's going to be released in late 2005 in Japan), but deffinentally not that soon. Miyamoto even said that there will be a demo version of the game at E3 (which is in May). Why would the game come out before the Demo does? I find that illogical (if what you say is true...which I find hard to believe). Right now take everything magazines and forums say with a teaspoon of salt because it most likely isn't true. Just wait untill all the official word gets out.

Yay! No more Hero Of Time. If it's set after Wind Waker than he must've been dead for A LONG time.

I'm not liking the release. It's kind of stupid, and they make it seem like they want to delay the game for fun. I mean, a release at the end of the year in Japan, and it's already finished. That's crazy, it won't take that long to just run over a few things. It's plain stupid.

Re: NEW Zelda Info! DS, Gamecube and the timeline

Maybe there are economical reasons involved? Better chance of getting X numbers of games sold toward the end of the year? I don't know really, but it sounds fishy.

Re: NEW Zelda Info! DS, Gamecube and the timeline

IGN and it's translation do not mention anything about the game being finished. This is the sort of thing that IGN would say, if it was there/trustworthy.

Whoever did the translation at the beginning of this thread was mistaken.

Re: NEW Zelda Info! DS, Gamecube and the timeline

The translation is wrong...Aonuma did not say that the game is "complete", the correct translation is the game is "coming".

And if this game comes out in the U.S. anytime in 2006 then that is absolutely ridiculous...xbox 2 will be out by then and the ps3 and revolution not far off.

This game should be coming out either before japan (which i highly doubt it will because this is a HUGE console release), or at least simultaneous release dates. 2006 would be extremely ridiculous for a release date. I have been hoping for news forever now and now that we have gotten some I am dissapointed. This game is way out there and we will not be playing this for a very long time.

I do not think that I can wait until late 05 or even 06 for the game to come out. May be I am crazy but I am banking on it comeing out in June or July of 05.

Re: NEW Zelda Info! DS, Gamecube and the timeline

You know what would royally suck? Nintendo makes this beautiful, amazing Zelda game that pushes the Gamecube to its limits . . .only to have it be smashed graphically and hype wise by mediocre XBOX 2 launch titles. Please don't let this happen Nintendo, release it this summer if possible!

Re: NEW Zelda Info! DS, Gamecube and the timeline

Well finally appears some info about the upcoming Zelda2005 for NGC release:

NO MORE HERO OF TIME!!! XDD at least, isn't the same Link of OoT that's mean a new Link (I don think is the same Link in TWW ... is just another incarnation).

To said that is cronological after TWW could mean YEARS after that, for the video we can see a plain ¿Is THAT the new Hyrule or the Old Hyrule, dryed up?. Maybe some (more) clues will be revealed in E3 of this year... I really can't way to May

But, my only "but" is the apparently to-late release (late on the year in Japan), that could be ok for the season's sales, but the Revolution would comming to next after that release ... would have the same efect in the global sales of the game itself or the gamecube as a console? This Zelda is obviously the "lifesaver" of the cube, I think this new game HAS not NEEDS to appear THIS year, that would be a good "Good Bye" for the 'cube, also maintain the console until its sucessor's upcoming. Nintendo is losing terrain in the "War of the consoles", they need to think in something more agressive, put now what they have on the table, and show waht to wait, on that Sony & Microsoft are in better position. Again, I'll wait for the E3, and really hopes for something good.

Saludos
