OH NO! The Music!

I watched the trailer and I loved it! WOW! It's great, but I noticed the music. It's way too LOTRish. I hope to got they dont get carried away and make the music real medevil. I want them to keep the classic Zelda music.

What are everyone's thoughts on the music?

Re: OH NO! The Music!

I like it, though it is a little un-characteristicly medieval and somwhat over the top in regards to the Zelda series, but in a whole it's better then anything i herd in WW...besides the overworld theme(which is okay, but not great) non of the musical scores actually stand out.Maybe they had a different sound team not the ones that developed Oot and MM.

but it is just a trailer clip, no body knows if that song will even be used in the came, i cant imagine were they would put it, maybe in one of the final cutscenes or something, or perhaps for the credits.

Re: OH NO! The Music!

Yeah, I really liked the music in OoT and MM. I hope they put Saria's song into Z05. They remixed it so much in tWW that it just sounded awful. I also want them to put in the Clock Town theme, and Hyrule Field (OoT) theme.

Re: OH NO! The Music!

thats only the first trailer of the game ever.... look at the first trailers from tWW... they looked terrible... but it turned out ok but look quite alot diff to what we have today...

so baseing these issues on the first trailer is just well stupid. The next trailer (drools) will tell us more what the game is gonna turn out as... at e3 (drools)

Re: OH NO! The Music!

i dont neccesarily think that the music in WW was bad it just seemed a bit uninspired and lackuster at times, the fact that almost any Zelda fan can remember the musical score from Oot is a testement to how correct they got it the first time. basically i think that the music in OoT(and especially MM) really fit the style of the game, and thats why the music in WW suprises me i would have thought they would have made the music blend more with the game...sometimes it did like Outset Islands song but the majority of the music didn't really catch my interest and make me stop for a second and listen to it like it did in OoT and MM.

Re: OH NO! The Music!

I really liked the trailor music! And it wouldn't bother me if the music were a bit medieval, I think that fits Zelda games. But I also liked the music in OoT (except for the music in some temples), so I wouln't mind if Nintendo uses that style again in new Zelda games.

Re: OH NO! The Music!

Now that I think about it, there was another version of the trailer which had a more Zelda like theme. Does anyone have a link of that song.

We will just have to wait until e3 hit in may to see what the music is like.

Re: OH NO! The Music!

Which one are you refering to? The one with the Conan music or the one with the actual Zelda music?
I personaly hope it wont get too Lotr-ish as you put it. I'm the kind of guy who always prefered the more minimalistic and melodic pieces in the Zelda series.

Re: OH NO! The Music!

I don't think that either of the songs from the trailer will make it in the final game. The Conan music won't for sure (Nintendo never uses liscened music, good for them) and I doubt the other one will either. They were simply meant to go nicely with the trailer, and I think that they did.

Obviously, I hope the game has plenty of original music, but what remixes would you like to be included? Here are some of my favorites;

-Hyrule Theme, Kakariko/Windfall, Clocktown, Hyrule Castle (ALTTP), Stone Tower Temple (MM), Lost Woods Theme, Gerudo Valley, Dark World

Re: OH NO! The Music!

It would be cool if they used the dark world idea again, not just the song.

Anyway. I agree, I hope the music is different from what was used in the trailer. Much too non-Zelda-ish.

That's what I am trying to say. I want the mto stay with the Zelda theme and not get to LOTRish.

You mean the second, or third time.
A lot of the more memorable music in OoT (Like Kakariko Theme, Ganondorf Theme, Ganondorf Battle, Fairy Theme, Master Sword intro ETC..) is either direct re-makes of LoZ & ALttP music or re-mixes. So, yeah

I like the music on both versions of the trailer, the Conan song sounds just as sweet as it did to OoT footage all those years ago and the new unknown theme fits the trailer well. I doubt that it will be in the game though, unless they have worked on it some more and made it sound a lot better.

I actually think it rocks!!! Ermm, I know everyone will probably want to stab me to death when I say this, but I actually want Zelda to turn LOTRish. I don't mean a carbon copy of it, but I want it to have its spirit and feeling. I would mean that the series would get a more mature and serious tone. And as for the uncharacteristic mediaval tone in the trailer, I actually think it's great. Ever heard the saying "the more, the merrier"? well, for me, in video games is "the medievaler, the merrier". *runs before everyone shoots at her*

uhm... i don't think medievaler is a word!i quess you were trying to be funny though.

anyway,I see what your saying, but there is a very good chance that if the music becomes more LOTR'ish it might overwelm the game. i'm not saying it will ruin the game i just think that it might take you out of the experience. though i'm one of the people on the front line when it comes to wanting innovation in Zelda i think the music should have the same Zelda sound to it, even if that means making some of the older music darker and putting it in the game.

Re: OH NO! The Music!

I am not a fan of LOTR so I will be ver pissed if they make all the music like that... I hate that medevil feeling... Zelda takes plave in the medevil times, but it give you a Zelda feeling, not a medevil feeling. It is kinda hard to explain.

Re: OH NO! The Music!

The zelda 2005 trailer music(riders of doom) was also in the windwaker trailer but it was not in the game. I will be disappointed if they don<t use that music at all.

I am glad they didn't put Riders of Doom in tWW. It just doesn't fit a Zelda game, but it worked well for the Zelda05 trailer, but they will not put it in the game.

Re: OH NO! The Music!

I'd like an LotR feeling to be in the game. I love the music in the movies, and I'd like to see it in Zelda. The market theme in OoT and the intro music in WW both were medieval sounding, and I really enjoyed them.
