Arrow Ideas for sidequests...

...Thats if they have any that is.

Well, i have been seeing people post ideas for sidequests in topics that have nothing too do with sidequests whatsoever. So why not make a topic for them?
Basicly all you have too do here is post an idea for a sidequest. If you dont have an idea, you can comment on others.
And no saying, "Mines better than yourse" because thats just n00bish, we want too avoid any fights.

Well, lets get crackin! Got an idea post it here, and people will rate it!

Re: Ideas for sidequests...

Huh...why do I have a feeling that this could apply to me? Oh well. Here's an idea I had for a sidequest that I thought up in another thread (that didn't have to do with sidequests, but it had to do with horses....probably that's why I had that feeling...):

Now this may sound stereotypical but I got this idea when you said that. You know in the old western movies (cowboys vs. indians) there would be a covered-wagon trail and when the native americans attacked, the covered wagons would protect themselves by going into a circle while the cowboys went on horseback and killed off the native americans.

Well I was just thinking of a side quest Link could do. There are two towns that used to trade with one another for food, supplies, letters, etc but ever since the Horde came, the plains between the two towns have been infested with boar-riding bokoblins. I'd like to see a side quest where Link is hired (or volunteers) to protect a covered wagon from under attack. When enemies appear on screen, the covered wagon's health bar will appear on the screen as well (next to Link's heart meter). If the wagon's health bar goes down to 0 then you've failed the mission. Bokoblins will try to attack the wagon with swords, arrows, and fire arrows (causes most damage). You must defeat any enemies that go near the wagon on horseback (of course) until you've reached your destination. And when Link arrives at the neighboring town/city, he'll be given his reward (or to make it harder, he has to make a returned trip with another wagon to recieve his reward).

How do you guys like that idea?

There will probably be a few involving dogs. Perhaps... You get to train dogs! Good ideas? All right, perhaps you have to follow a dog who follows the scent of its owner at night trying to find it, and the owner is a sage/maiden,do you follow it to save the sage/maiden.

Re: Ideas for sidequests...

Hmm... aren't side quests kind of hard to come up with when we know nothing at all of the game? For all we know, Link visits Mars in the game while riding a giant lolly pop and is attacked by space pirates named XEZedreszZ and Bojo. And there could be a "Find Bojo's Socks" side quest, where Link has to go into outer space and finds Bojo's socks which escaped into outerspace, while fending off space Miniblins!!

I don't know... It may be neat to come up with side quest ideas, but we know nothing of the game. So it'd just be off the top of our heads. I'm not in a creative mood right now, though.

Re: Ideas for sidequests...

here's one.

bokoblin boar rider's steal some precious thing (money bags, baby, something valuable) and you must recover/rescue it. you have to ride up to them and they (say 6-7) are passing the thing to each other so you cant get it. now i am going to take a bit of license here when i say that link can jump of the horse while its moving to jack the bokoblins (never know, could happen). so you have to chase them, and jump from boar to boar, jacking the bokoblins 1 by 1 until theygive it up. now this takes place while thay are moving, and things like low hanging trees and ledges, and other enviromental obstacle mean you must jump from watever boar you are on back to the horse to be able to survive these obstacle without stacking (the horse rides alongside you whatever you are on). if the bokoblins shake you off and getaway, you lose. if they get back to their hideout before you resuce the object. you lose. the bokoblins not knocked off or holding the object will attack you up close with swords, or with arrows. context sensitive commands dodge these.

i know that uses a bit of an artistic license, but if it is true that the horse will play a larger part, these are the sort of things i want to be able to do.

That would be awsome, dodgeing branches and jacking things at the same time.
It would be so cool if an actual game was made with these ideas in them .

Yeah we know we don't know anything about the game, but we try to think up things that will seem possible in a Zelda game (basic magic, medi-evil era). I don't think anything will be extravigant as going to Mars

As for what CGOCPFTF said, I totally forgot there are dogs in the game. I can see your idea come into play CGOCPFTF. Probably he enters the Lost Woods and the only way of knowing where you're going is with a dog's scent, or a Map (and the sage, or whoever, will give you said map). Ok as for a side quest idea of my own about dogs....

How about this:
-You save a boy from being trampled by boar-riding bokoblins (he hops onto the back of your horse). You kill the bokoblins.
-Boy thanks you and asks you to find his two dogs that ran off when the bokoblin arrived.
-You find the dogs
-Boy says you can barrow them for awhile.
-You bring the dogs into the forrest
-The dogs will sniff out Deku Scrubs, Buisness Scrubs, and most importantly, Mushrooms
-You Bring the mushrooms to Maple & Syrup (perfect time for a cameo appearance in a 3D Zelda game).
-They give you a potion that will heal a nearby Deku Tree (or it could be a Maku Tree. There's another cameo from the Oracle games).
-The old Deku tree is finally healed from the poison from the Lost Woods, however, he gives you something that makes Deku Trees different from regular trees: A piece of Heart. With the Piece of Heart out of his possetion, the Old Deku Tree "dies" and becomes a regular tree.

Good idea, i like the idea with the dog. You know how you can control a seagul in tWW? Well maybe you could do that with a dog?

Re: Ideas for sidequests...

well, i got a idea, with inspiration from other posts at this topic. miyamoto says hyrule will be huge, so i think huge plains or desert will be in there too. a village got mugged big time by a group of independent bokoblins. so you have to attack their camp at night. because they are indepent, they have their own style weapons, warriors and their own leader. after defeating them, you'll get a piece of heart or mayb a heart container, like you can get in Minish Cap.

I like your idea. If I may add onto it...probably the Moblin King can be the king who orders the independant bokoblins. Haven't you noticed that in all the games (LA, OoS, OoA) the Moblin King has always been independant from Ganondorf? Sure he has smaller plans (kidnapping Ms. BowWow's ChainChomp, keeping all the Bombflowers, kidnapping Princess Zelda) but I consider him independant from Ganondorf's dreams.

I don't think this is much of a side-quest but to go inside Hyrule Castle and fight characters from other Zelda games like the Great Moblin or Ralph.

Ralph? Why fight Ralph from OoA? I'd say fight the Moblin King or Vire. Those two have been the dynamic sub-sub-villain duo I've ever seen. But it could be used as a side quest. How....I haven't figured that out but I'll get to it sooner or later.

Re: Ideas for sidequests...

how about a side quest, you can take as long as you want with it, where somewhere in the game is a cave like the fairy fountains of OoT, but when you get in there, you cant get passed the entrance room because there is a special lock on the door. here is a sign that says that 3-4 peices of the lock have been hidden around hyrule. you need to search around various areas, and once you have found them, the door opens, and you get some uber-cool weapon or upgrade. something simple

apart from that, i want minigames with high-scores, so that i can always try for a new high score.

Re: Ideas for sidequests...

side quests....

A woman thinks her husband doesnt love her anymore, he's always leaving the house for 2 days at a time. If the man does not return after the next time he embarks, then the woman will leave him.. but the husband does not know this..
So link must act like a little detective!
Link must first find the mans wereabouts, so asking around is a must. Then Link must wait for the man to arrive, and when he leaves Link must follow him.
At night there is a risk of getting caught if your too close, but during the day there is no stress.
Link follows the man and finds him going into a cave.
Link follows him and finds that the man is working with one of the great fairys to make a silver necklace for his wife!
Link must hide behind pillars and what not, and it will play out sorta like it does in OoS with rosa and the 2 subrosian kids.
Link hears the man saying that he will be finished in a little bit and after sunrise he will deliver the necklace to his wife... But see, his two days will have been up by then and his wife would have already left.
So Link must rush back to the womans house in 3 minuts or this tale will end in heartbreak.
If link succeeds then he will get a peice of silver to later be used in the contruction of the silver arrows.
If link fails, then he must later find the wife and tell the husband were she is so they can reunite, but link will only receive the heartpeice, and must complete the game without the silver arrows (the super bonus weapon, but not required)

yeah... i really dont like the idea of not being able to attain everything in a game. if you fail, you should be able to try again.

I agree. I like the idea, but it would be better if the husband went out and did it night after night, so if you fail by being seen or not making it in time, you could try again the next time.
