Hey this is zorasriver.. the guardian of the river.

I wanted to start a topic about Epona!
When i saw the new zelda's trailer for the first time.. ow man
the dears were dripping out of my eyes..

The most spectacular point of the movie was Link riding on epona,
while slashing all the monsters. Now, the monsters were riding on a sort of
pigs... But what keeps on turning and twisting in my mind...

Woulnd it be great if you could hop of epona.. and climb on such a pig!!
And slam trough walls or just ram into the enemy's.
Seems great to me!! and when epona isnt around.. just go to
LonLon Ranch! and hop onto a cow!!

We dont have GTA on the cube but hey... sounds great to me

I have a question...,why did you call this thread "Gtz"? I don't see the reference. Is it suppose to mean "Grand Theft Zelda"? I'm clueless (sorry for getting off topic).

As for the horse itself, they say its going to play a major part in the game. There have been many rumors, but no cold hard facts. I don't know what to say about the horse that I haven't said before. All I ask is to see the horse fly (become a pegasus). That would be awesome.

I think is great that Link rides a horse, but about the Epona topic. How could Epona live for soooo long??? Are there more than one horse that Link as and for memory of his good beloved horse he named them Epona too???

I don't think you should be able to ride everything in the game, but I think it would be cool if you could jump on to the enemies' mounts and throw them off or something. The Mask of Zorro comes to mind.

I wouldn't mind it if it was for a limited amount of time. Say a minute or two? After that. the boars would throw you off. Link could jump off his horse (who may not be Epona might I add) and land at the backseat of the boar if no one is there, push the enemy off the boar and jump back on the horse. They'd have to set some specific paths for the horse to follow if this was to happen though, maybe the horse could just run along at the side of the boar.

Your thinking a little too much on one timeline possibility.
If i am correct, most people think this takes place before ww and after oot. And also if i am correct it uses the same link, hero of time.(which actually presents the possibility of timetravel in this game) Horses from what I know, can live atleast half as long as people can. So unless you're really insistent on this game taking place after ww, that question is a little obsolete.

Actauly the horse looked NOTHING like Epona, so.... dont get ur hopes up.

??? um.... actualy most people think it takes place AFTER tWW. (that includes Nintendo Power) And who said it has the Hero of Time in it? That would be gay, I mean, he already been in two games. Isnt it getting old?

I saw the trailer and yeah it was great, I watched it about 50 times. I have heard that Link will be doing alot of on horse fighting,which is good because in OOT you just kinda ran over them and they vanished into air. About the cow, too bad in OOT you couldnt ride the cow around in your own house in Kokiri forest, because you never rode a horse when you were young. But if the trailer is like most zelda games then the actual game will be 10 times better than the actual trailer, but will come out 10 times later than expected.

Somewhere in this topic someone mentioned that the horse was going to be a major part of the game...well if that's true than the title of the game is definitely going to have the word "Bridle" or "Reins" in it. Think about it.

It would be fun to ride almost anything in the game. But for a limited time of course. Deep inside I feel that focusing too much on the horse might hurt the game as well. Like in Wind Waker, the boat and the sea had such a strong focus that they put too many quests involving the grappling hook and lousy treasures below the sea.

I just hope they make something new and fresh with the Link-story. I've had enough with all this Hero of Time thing. I liked OoT and I liked the references to him in WW but I honestly don't want more of him.

I am also a bit tired of the time-travelling concept. It was fun in OoT and MM.. but please, no more. At least not for a while. I'd love seeing a Dark and Light world again though, in 3D

I think it's been rumored in the forums that the horse's name is Poseidon, but I'm confused as to why a horse would be named after a god of the sea.

Nah, I was thinking what most of us here are convinced of, Zelda '05 takes place after WW.

I whole-heartedly agree. I don't want Zelda '05 to turn into Harvest Moon. I'd like the horse to play a role maybe bigger than Epona's (with more freedom e.g. going into towns) but less involved than that of the King of Red Lions'.

I agree with HeartsRekindled. Epona should play a big part (More than hopin the bridge in Oot) But less than Epona (Posideon...Whatever) being like a king thats really a sail boat.
