I would personally love a chess themed dungeon. It would have a
tp temple of time atmosphere probably. There would be 4 unique enemies in it:
The Pawn: An enemy essentially like the bokoblins in
ss.
The Knight: Similar to a lizalfos, it would mostly evade your attacks and jump around.
The Bishop: Essentially a stylized wizrobe from ww that couldn't fly. It would teleport around and shoot magic at you. It can also create shields of its element to block attacks.
The Rook: A slightly toned down Darknut. It is slow but can take a lot of hits and hit hard, and it can also parry your attacks like a stalfos from
ss.
Each of these enemies would also have 2 subtypes, white and black. For example, the Black Bishop would use ice magic while the white one would use fire. Also, the Rooks would use different weapons.
These enemies would be mostly what you face in dungeons, with maybe some keese and beemos and the such.
There will be 2 minibosses, the White Queen and the Black Queen. Each Queen would be a mix of the best parts of the Rook and the Bishop with more health. They would act like a faster Rook of their color that could teleport and use magic and crete shields of their Bishops color. They each give you an arrow typw of their opposite element, fire or ice. These can be used on an opposite element Bishop or Queen (fire to black or ice to white) to deal a lot of damage.
The Dungeons puzzles would consist of strategy puzzles that involve thinking on the correct series of moves to get the desired result, such as block puzzles and switch puzzles, and puzzles involving freezing/burning things: Torch puzzles, burning webs, freezing water to create platforms, etc.. It would also have a fair amount of chess references. For example, you would get the boss key by taking out an entire side of a chess board, involving, each half being a different color and 2 queens rather than a queen and a king.
The boss would be 2 simultaneous bosses, a white and black king, who are 2 rather large sword wielders (like odolwa or demise) who can use magic, are weak to fire or ice, and can summon enemies of their color.
