Neat idea and all, but that would make Ganondorf feel like a puppet.

What I had in mind was that his stone statue is locked away, and the main bad-guy possesses the statue and Ganondorf comes back alive, and he coincides with the main villain, eventually overruling him.

Oh and thought I would bring this up:

I think WW timeline is closed, there's no comeback for the Stone Ganondorf in the bottom of the old Hyrule with the Master Sword in it.

Yet, who knows.

lol thanks to Skyward Sword, Ganondorf is essentially a puppet. He is a reincarnation of Demise's hatred, after all...

Re: Aonuma hints at next game in Hyrule Hystoria

On the topic of the whole sailing thing, if they have made SS then they are defiantly on the track and pretty damn close to perfecting Zelda...if it was literally sailing then I totally trust them to make it epic, they can only learn from their mistakes and move forward.

So if it was a metaphor then cool but if not and it is sailing, then I don't mind because I trust they know what they are doing, cause SS story and gameplay was so perfect, it MUST be as good cause they can't possibly be getting worse at making Zelda games, only better!

Oh yeah, another question that this translation/message depicts;
Will this new Zelda game be for the 3DS or Wii U?

Re: Aonuma hints at next game in Hyrule Hystoria

My dear dudes and dudettes, I have now for you... The full translation:

Now, allow me to include some tall talk here: I feel that developing such large scale games as those from The Legend of Zelda is very similar to what it was like to venture into the mighty ocean in ancient times. Each game of the franchise has its own theme, as I mentioned above. I think that's a system that no one has challenged so far and at the same time it's like looking for a "continent" no one has ever visited.

When leaving the port, you don't have a single nautical chart. You only have with you very few crew members, and all the guidance is based on which direction looks good, so at first it's like boarding and sailing a ship with an aim you don't even know yet. Sometimes you just drift about, or you may suffer a shipwreck because of a storm. Or you may see what you think is a new continent, but when you rush towards it, you find out it actually is a tiny desolate island. And it's then that you get lost.

However, as long as you don't stand still in the same spot, you can continue to advance little by little, and that continent you aimed at will get barely within sight on the far away horizon. At that point you can add more people to your crew, and get all together to push forward ahead towards the continent. That's a very fun process, so fun you even forget the times when you encountered a storm and you were hoping to get away from it. And if you manage to get safely to that "continent," people around the world will surely get happy... That's the biggest pleasure of creating Zelda games.

The long sailing time of creating Skyward Sword, a game to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Zelda series, has just come to an end. The voices of those who've played it from around the world reach us. We hear their admiration comments, and their criticism too. All those voices become energy for the next voyage. Well, to tell the truth, we've already set sail in a new voyage.

---There you have it. hmmmm someone likes sailing, oceans and stuff... WTF HINT or not ? :p

All this talk of finding a new continent, setting sail with no charts.

A prequel to Spirit Tracks. The discovery of New Hyrule, the sealing of Malladus.

Re: Aonuma hints at next game in Hyrule Hystoria

It could just be metaphors but the dude had hours to write this paragraph so I think he carefully chose his words... Indeed; maybe a game between WW/PH and ST...
I hope they keep the 3D gameplay and looks of WW and apply it to the 3DS with 3D visuals...

I think the WiiU game should be elsewhere on the Timeline

Re: Aonuma hints at next game in Hyrule Hystoria

That is not just a metaphor, rather a huge analogy! Which of course makes me think that in japanese, he must've also been talking about the sea.

I want 3DS Zelda to have land to explore, and I'd like Wii U Zelda to have a huge overworld to walk around, so I wonder what a new sailing game could be like, if they did one.

This is what I was thinking too, but I really hope this doesn't mean 1, we get toon link or 2, it plays overly like the DS games. I love ST, but something new would be nice and a game as grand as SS is certainly possible on the 3DS. The boat in PH was awful for exploration, I also hope the fix the WW problem if they have lots of islands again. That is, none of this stupid get a new segment of the chart crap, and some actual sizable islands.

Damn it, I am so sick of these ♥♥♥♥ing Toon Link games. If they're going to make another gaddamn toonlink game, then please make it for the wii-u for a nice change of pace.... Not another damn toon link game slapped on a portable.

Re: Aonuma hints at next game in Hyrule Hystoria

hmmmmmm. My first thoughts were an awesome Zelda game where sailing and exploring played a big role. And the way it is described, it could actually be really fun.

BUT, then I remembered the robot crew in Skyward Sword, and all the pictures in Skipper's room. When I saw them in game I immediately thought they had to be an in-game depiction of the Zelda crew, kind of an homage to all the people involved, the time spent, the "journey", etc. And when the rumor about Miyamoto retiring came out (again) I immediately thought of him as the Captain, and thought it might be a secret farewell and a hint that he was leaving, then it turned out to be false (as always). Go check out the room if you haven't already checked all the pictures and read the captions.

SO, don't get too excited about a new sailing Zelda. It could be the case, as the idea may have grown in their minds and developed into a game idea, but at the same time, it may just be an analogy the team used during the development of Skyward Sword.

If it IS a hint at a new game though, then I hope there will eventually be a continent to explore and the whole thing doesn't take place on little islands... and as much as I love the WW style, I hope the game won't be another cartoony game. I think its time for another "more mature" looking Zelda game. Looking at all the concept art from the Hyrule Historia scans and the Wii U demo really has me wanting something "darker" and less chibi-happy-kawaaaiiiiii!! if you know what I mean. I loved it, it was great, but I don't want Zelda to always be that...

Re: Aonuma hints at next game in Hyrule Hystoria

^I wouldn't mind Toonlink on WiiU...would be gorgeous, but the general audience wants realistic Zelda on the WiiU and keep the toonlink for portable. As long as they make it like WW I don't mind playing TL on 3DS. Just no more top view fake WW-style
