New type of overworld in SS

So as I'm sure most of you have seen the new Skyward Sword clip at the end of the anniversary video. Now, one of the things that caught my eye that I haven't seen discussed yet is Link's speedboat.

As you can see at around 5:00 minutes in, Link is in a boat on a large body of water with sand in the background. Now, my first thought is that this is just a part of the desert area they keep showing, but upon further thought, why would there be a huge lake in the middle of the desert?

My new thought is that there may be infact, a small ocean of sorts in the land below. Now, this has to be a pretty big body of water if you need a motorboat to traverse it. The sand we see in the background could very well be a beach.

Not tryin' to confirm anything, but ever since I swam in the Great Bay in MM, I have wanted a beach/ ocean to go along with a land overworld.

So what do you guys think??? Possible ocean? Early lake Hylia? Guess we won't know until November!

Probably a beach in the sand area.

Maybe the Gerudo Desert was once an ocean in ancient times that receded leaving a ton of sand and in Skyward Sword we see the last bit of it before it's gone.
