cel shaded or not

Cel-shading was brilliant, and I've seen a few "WW prototypes" (WW Link sketches predating WW's release) of teen/adult Link and they look like they could actually be done well in cel-shading. It may look like the same person only somewhat older, but that's because it IS the same person only older. If they go with a completely different Link, I wouldn't mind seeing them come up with another style (I don't want to see complete realism...or at least not yet...it can't be done without losing some of the emotions and such that make the characters seem like real people). However, I really would like to see the WW sequel take place in the new land, with Tetra and Link both a few years older.

What are you saying? If a game doesn't look realistic it isn't good? And I wouldn't go around doggin on Japanese anime around these parts. There are a lot of hardcore fans on this forum(not that I am one of them).

Okay, I HAVE played wind waker. I tried to like it, I really did. When Link got shot out of a canon i thot hey. thats kinda funny. Then I remebered the golden age of zelda... Oot... And I wanted to break down and cry. Really. Oot Will always be better than wind waker.

Actually, this game isn't Anime. Anime tends to focus on realism in characters. NEVER have I seen and Anime character with a humongous head, midget legs, and baby feet. That, is a cartoon. I have NEVER seen a cartoon where the character looked like a person. It's usually a talking animal or somthin.

I beg to differ, I believe the Golden Age of Zelda was A Link to the Past. ^_~ TWW was meant to be comical in areas, and it pulled it off very nicely.

HamJob, animé is french for Animated, Japanese animé consists of MANY different styles, the one featured prominently in TWW is known as "Chibi" which is small and deformed characters. Being Japanese I can tell you this with confidence.

We're all entitled to our opinion, but some people wouldn't agree with what I just said.

I don't care either way, Zelda is all about the gameplay and story after all. It would be nice to see an ultra realistic Zelda though.

Yeah, the cel shading can't pull you into the plot like OoT's graphix...

Zelda never fails to convince me that I'm link while I'm playing, no matter what the graphics. A failure of cel shading to draw you in hamjob is probably a fault on your part for refusing to meet the game half way.

Oh It tried, trust me. But when I heard they WEREN'T gonna be making a realistic Zelda afterwards I lost my mind. Imho so did Shiggy...

why is it that all nOOBs bash cel shading- why cant they accept the fact that it is a more advanced form of animation than realism- and it looks extremely clean, smooth, etc.

Why is it all retards don't see that graphix change? Look at Halo 2. There ain't no way in hell you're gonna say TWW looks better, cleaner or whatever than that!

Yeah. I don't hate cel-shading, but I don't like it either. I've got nothing against it, but I prefer more gouraud-shading(the majority of games use this). Sure, it makes things look cleaner and smoother, but the textures are awful and it gets really hard to tell where one thing ends and another begins. Lack of color definition... ugh. Anyways, I don't care if they do cel-shade the next game as long as they don't screw up the character designs so badly. Chibiness is so lame.
