how long will it last?

The Legend of Zelda has been one of the top video game franchises for over 15 years now. does anyone have predictions on how/when/where this series will end? its sad to talk about it...but i think its got to end somehow

Exactly. Nintendo would never end one of the games that bring in most of there profiets although there are plenty others. I see this game going on for atleast another 15 to 20 years and perhaps more we can only hope.

Not necessarily, if they ever do go bankrupt then they might sell the rights to make Zelda games to a different company. However, it's not likely that Nintendo would sell such a great franchise, they may just retire it instead. Of course, it's also not likely that Nintendo will go bankrupt anytime soon, so I don't think we need to worry about this issue now.

it is quite morbid actually, I don't want to think about it-then again, I never realised Sega was going to go bust... O_o;

No, it doesn't have to end. if Nintendo goes out of buiness, and was forced to produce on other platforms, then yeah, they might let it go, or they might put it on newer platforms. I don't think we have to worry about that happening for quite some time though.

nintendo have said a few times that when they stop making consoles, they stop altogether. but anway, there may well be a game one day that comes as the very final game in the timeline, but then there are still infinite possibilities after that game (if it ever does) has come out for new zelda games. how awesome would a last ever zelda game be though, you can picture the final fight with ganon, and link leading an army or something, anyway, i do go on don't i....

Zelda will never end! I don't want to think about it. I hope its around when I'm an adult, and I'll have kids, and they'll be Zelda fans... Okay, someday it will end, but I don't know how or why. I don't want to know how or why. Nintendo won't go bankrupt, I'm pretty sure. They've been around forever.

Let's all think happy thoughts, like how lucky we are to be getting two new games? Anyone want a cookie?

But I hope Zelda will live in many more years and become very old.
I guess what could drown it is if they only made bad, bad, bad Zelda games in the future, but I don't think that very likely.

Due to the interests in games, Nintendo will never go bankrupt, it's that simple.

This is like asking when the spider-man franchise will retire.

Zelda will probably live on past any of our lives.

the Zelda series will last as long as people like are still out there, people who look for more that just a fun game, people who look for an experience

I think that from a games standpoint that Zelda is just a baby. As long as there are Nintendo programmers there will be a Zelda game at least in thought if not in the making

...... I hope Nintendo/ Mario/ Zelda will live through the day that........ Miyamoto......... goes away......... if not, Nintendo WILL have some problems in the future! (He's 51 after all!) All I can say is that I think Zelda will live for at least 25 more years. (He'll be 76, and to old to think by then)

When miyamoto dies, somebody else will just take his place. I just can't see anyway nintendo will die.
