Smile Why Zelda 2005 will be the best Zelda game ever made...

Although it is very early to judge, I believe this game will be the Gamecube's swan song. The game that finishes the Gamecube's career and remembered as the system that gave gamers Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 4, and now, Zelda.

Nintendo is obviously keeping this game under tight wraps. Nobody had no idea at E3 that Nintendo would unveil Zelda with realistic graphics, nor did they expect it. We were surprised. And for that, we shall anticipate.

Do remember that OoT is the #1 pre-ordered video game of all time. Guess what? Nintendo wants to repeat that again, sending their sales through the roof, making another Zelda game a number one hit smash. Everybody on these forums either has played, or owns, OoT, and when we saw that footage of Link riding his mighty steed once again, we drooled....admit it. Yes, WW's ship has sailed (no pun intended) and now we are finally getting what we want. Aren't we?

Recall that most gamers were turned away by WW's cel-shaded graphics (their are plenty of anti WW threads trust me) and didn't even give the game a chance. Guess what people, you're getting what you want now, so you better be the ones who are the first to buy this new game...and when you do...you will once again put Zelda on top. This game will give die-hard Xbox and PS2 fans a reason to play Gamecube again, or ...for the first time.

Fortunately, Mr. Miyamoto isn't one to usually disappoint, and he isn't going to let his fans down twice in a row, is he? He knows people didn't respond to WW like he wanted them to, and now its time to make up for it. The storyline of this game is not known just yet because it will be groundbreaking, the same way we felt playing OoT. Maybe even more.

Shigeru could try something new, but looking at the E3 footage, Link has the same abilities as OoT Link...the same voice...but an edgier look. He looks very mature, poised, and ready to kick some ass. Wow. I was pleasantly surprised to see this from a Nintendo game. Not just that, it seems as though that the enemies in the game resemble the enemies in WW. Moblins right? Maybe not... but they seem to be assembled together as if they are going to war. The story will be deep, and Link will have new abilities, but I feel that Miyamoto will keep the OoT control layout and z targeting system (as he should).

To be the best Zelda game ever made, it has to outshine its predecessors in many areas in no particular order:
Storyline
Emotion
Graphics (check )
Dungeon length and difficulty
A reason to buy potions again
more interactions with characters
plot twists
challenging bosses
nostalgia
symphonic soundtrack (possibly like Lord of the Rings)
movie like feel
the length of the game (praying for it to be two discs).
how it is advertised to the public (not like how WW was advertised).
possibly filling gaps in the series storyline

You heard it from me first folks, even if all of these traits aren't addressed, the new Zelda will be the most anticipated game in years, the most bought game in since OoT, and quite possibly the best game ever made.
Trust me. We won't be disappointed one bit.

Re: Why Zelda 2005 will be the best Zelda game ever made...

Actually, I didn't hear it from you first. There have been many threads like this already. Wind Waker beat OOT in pre-orders, apparently you heard it from me first. True, there were many people who didn't like the cel-shaded look to BEGIN with, but most have since gotten used to it and realized just how much it suited the game. Nintendo isn't changing the look because of the reaction from gamers, they're changing it simply because it wouldn't suit a grown-up Link. Ignorance is bliss...or is it?

You forgot sidequests... It has to have some replay value.
Another trading sequence couldn't hurt either.

Yes, WW is still rated #1 on the most preordered game chart, but do you believe that its because of the WW itself, or because of the success of the previous games? Not even to mention the bonus deal.

To get back on topic, yes, this game does look like a true OOT successor, but I don't think I'll get my hopes up just yet. As a precaution, only to avoid dissappointment.

Re: Why Zelda 2005 will be the best Zelda game ever made...

I believe that Nintendo will make the ultimate Zelda game that will take pre-orders through the stratusphere and beyond.

The screenshots look awesome and so does the video. If this is done right, then many people who were put off Zelda by Wind Wakers graphics might buy it and it may influence people who are humming and haring about getting a cube to actually buy one.

I hope this game takes three times as long or longer to beat than Wind Waker did to beat, which took many gamers about 3 weeks to complete.

This will be the ultimate Zelda, Nintendo will take all the complaints of the other 3-D Zeldas, (WW combat had great potential to be amazing, but just potential, Faster combat, more battles, counterattacks(WW was to simplified), higher difficulty, longer game)bIt will be ultimate

You may be judging Zelda 2005 too much on its graphics. This is as expected, the hype is huge; Nintendo better do a superb job this time. TWW was good, but not good enough, it lacked replay value and many other things.

Even so, I believe Zelda 2005 has great potential.

What's awesome is that Nintendo basically does nothing, and the hype gets huge. They are not even trying to hype it... they know they don't have to. Fanboys will do it for them.

Re: Why Zelda 2005 will be the best Zelda game ever made...

No Zelda game has exceptional replay value perhaps except the Four Swords games.

Perhaps if different events occur depending upon how you handle situations providing for a different gaming experience each time you play it would help but even then you risk losing out on the fact that you already know the story line, and unless you involve plot twists and alternate endings...

On top of that the easiest way to achieve replay value is through a multiplayer system. If a dueling system was ceated similar to how you trained for sword cobat in tWW, that could be very interesting and doable in multiplayer terms.

Perhaps even a co-op system where Nintendo finally introduces another playable character in the Zelda series (the fact they added in Zelda/Shiek to SSBM seems promising), that could prove to be very interesting.

And nothing is impossible, Nintendo has proven to be very willing to fix their mistakes and listen to what the gamers want - GBA SP is a perfect example.

Re: Why Zelda 2005 will be the best Zelda game ever made...

MM had significant replay... mainly because once you beat it you could do whatever you want again... even the bosses.

But that is not going to happen in the new one.

Re: Why Zelda 2005 will be the best Zelda game ever made...

I was never a big Gamer My first game was ALTTP and even then i wasnt submerged in the zelda universe all that much... Then there was N64 ... the only reason i bought it is because of OOT Zelda is the only game out there (in my opininon) worth playing... im into sports alot and i spend very little time inside. But because of OOT and MM i began to really get into it trying to figure the storyline and it got me to start writing a Fanfic ... Then TWW happened it cut me so hard i didnt even think of buying it even for the deal and all that stuff ... beleive me i tried to give it a chance but i couldnt ... This new game has me buying a GC ... my point im sure im not the only one out there

Re: Why Zelda 2005 will be the best Zelda game ever made...

Maybe this is why Nintendo keeps games, like Zelda, under such tight wraps. Before they're even half way into making it, people are already making their own little fantasy about what the game will be. Everybody expects something different from it, and eventually when it does come out, everybody's gonna be dissappointed about SOMETHING. I know this game will be great and all, but I'm not deciding what it'll be like or what should be in it. We know basically nothing about the game except for a few minor details.

I think I've said this about a hundred times, but I can't help it. Guys, we've had a gazzilion threads like this one, and all of them ARE TOTALLY POINTLESS!!! All you're doing is saying "Yeah, and I hope this is in it!" "I know it'll be a great game!" "I hope it has blah blah blah and improves blah blah blah blah." No real point to the threads at all.

Was that too harsh? I hope not, I'm just kinda annoyed.

This is what the stupid people act like

"OMFG! ZeLdA lookz kick @$$, itz PWNAGE !!!111!!!1 I'm gonna pre-orders it!!!"
This is what about 70% of the people I've seen sound like in my head.

Then we have the sensible people

"The game looks stunning but we really know nothing about the game. I'm not going to judge it until I get some more facts about it or until I play it"
This is what a minority of the entire "group" says

I'm not gonna hope for anything, I'm going to let it happen and see the outcome.
I very much agree with Miniblin, if you took the teensiest amouint of time from your endless hours of daydreaming and did something else for a change even if it was stil related to the game like discussing where it might fit in the partially figured out timeline.

I know this is going to be the best. From what I've seen of it, Nintendo is pouring their blood and sweat into the project, and I think It's showing. I have a feeling that this game will tower over the mighty OOT.

Miniblin, Jehuty, dont diss the thread man! seriously guys if you are just gunna post about how pointless this thread is, you dont even need to post here. If you dont like it then go somewhere else because for me, these threads are VERY IMPORTANT- you see I dont have any friends that are interested in Zelda, so being able to chat about the upcomming Zelda game with Zelda-fans is awesum.*

............anyways- I think this game is going to be so fun to play, I mean if it is what I expect it to be, which is anything like OoT. I want one of those games that are hard to pass, one that you secretly obsess over- staying up late to play...in other words not like TWW. The Wind Waker was just WAY to easy, I mean..I had this game passed in only a 6 months, and for me thats bad because I'm involved in sports and other things and I dont spend much time playing Zelda. I want this game to be furestruating,( in a fun way.)-like Oot which took me nearly 4 years to beat! I want it to be one of those play-it-'till-five-in-the-morning-and-fake-sick-to-get-out-of-school-the-next-day-because-you-finally-beat-
the-temple-you-spent-all-school-day-thinking-about-games!

Jehuty, stop placing people in groups. Are we all supposed to be feeling very stupid for posting our opinions? I honestly think we need to wait and see before we judge too much of the game.

And yeah, I really hope it hypes up a lot, I want this game to be a very huge hit... I love the feeling of a game when that happens, top quality.

That is my opinion of the people, you can think whatever you want and people can go on hoping all they want, it is thier opinion and they are entitled to it as I am to my opinion.
