I disagree with you. I'd say best example of either is Majora's Mask. The characters there were great, as was the establishment of how the entire town functioned.

A lot them weren't really new but lame copies or rip-offs from ocarina of Time hence Romani and Cremina, Lulu, the Gorman brothers, and Ghosts Sharp and Flat! The characters I see worthy of recongnition are cafei and anju and a few others.

But Majora was the best of them!

The graphics for the characters weren't new, but the characters themselves were, and it was the way they interacted that made it impressive. The interactions were better demonstrated in MM than OoT.

This game did have the best Character development, etc. but i personally didnt really care for the characters, get emotionally attached, or think they had much personality, I just felt like i help them to get the mask, etc, not save them from a three day destruction

You do realize that the moon doesn't exactly need to hit you to kill you, right? Something that big hitting the planet would probably be enough to cause all kinds of seasonal changes, put clouds of debris in the atmosphere for months, alter the planet's orbit, etc.

Anyway, I think the overworld should receive the most attention. The overworld is where you will be spending more time, so it should recieve the most effort.

However, those things would have occured ingame already, but they didn't, as the destruction of Termina was deliberately unrealistic in a large variety of ways.

An equal balance of everything. A decently sized main story with lots of stuff to do outside of the main quest.

I kind of agree with what your saying, there is definitely more to a game than just the dungeon, My favorite part of Zelda games is going to and doing stuff outside the dungeons. It makes the game seem more real when you consider it's taking you more than 30 minutes to cross Hyrule.

As long as it's fun, I like Zelda, and games with side-quests, main-quest or balance can be good or bad, give me anything as long as it's good, which I am sure will be .

Yeah, there's no Zelda thats been like that before, unless I missed one too.

Speaking of which, I remember Nintendo saying it would take 45 minutes to cross Hyrule in TP! But I think if you went from the two farthest points in the game, Ordon Village to the top of Snowpeak, it only takes around 15 minutes at the most (if you're just walking, no Epona or anything).

Re: Which should Skyward Sword have more of???

Hmmm. Nintendo has done well recently in terms of length and number of dungeons. For example, Twilight Princess had 9 dungeons (Forest, Mines, Lakebed, Arbiter's Grounds, Snowpeak Ruins, Temple of Time, City in the Sky, Palace of Twilight, Hyrule Castle), not to mention many overworld quest/labyrinth/puzzle-thingies, a 50-floor Cave of Ordeals, comprehensive fishing, and difficult minigames (think S.T.A.R.).

Nintendo has also done well in side-quests, like golden bugs, secret skills (which are indeed optional, for the most part), Poe Souls, Gold Skulltulae (I wish they'd bring them back), and mask hunting.

However, Nintendo has done little in Zelda in regards to main-quest activities in the overworld. It seems to me that they may have solved that problem in Skyward Sword, but that remains to be seen.

Based on that, I voted for "Main quest stuff outside dungeon".
