Zelda DS

Do you think that they will make a Zelda Game for the Gameboy DS that is Cel Shaded like Wind Waker? Let me know what you Think. It seems like this new DS portable thing has endless opportunities.

Re: Zelda DS

First of all, it is called the Nintendo DS. It is NOT in the Gameboy System series.

Would Cel Shading be able to be as beautiful and detailed on the DS? (No. ) I think that something like the Minish Cap could work. Say for example, a Big world could be on the top screen while the Mini World could be on the small one. It could also work with Light and Dark worlds.

Re: Zelda DS

If my memory searves me, there is already is (or was) a DS discussion. Not about Cel Shading, but more general. I think there'll be a gameboy type thing, like Mr. Wonderful said, with Minish cap, or Four Sword graphics. If they decide to do a 3-D adventure, I actually am doubting it'll be Cel Shaded. But I doubt they'd do a 3-D game for the DS, anyway.

Re: Zelda DS

I'd love to see a sequal in character to TWW on the DS. Though as already mentioned, it wouldn't look nearly as good. Take for example Metroid: Prime and Metroid: Hunters, they both look great for what they are on, but Hunters pales in comparison.

Re: Zelda DS

It would probably be some kind of Four Swords thing with spruced up graphics. Only this time, it'd be easier to find someone to play with you, thanks to the wireless internet support.

Re: Zelda DS

Actually, the smaller screen could probably make the graphics better than they really are, so cel-shading like TWW could look nice. But could the DS actually handle cel-shading like that? I hear the DS is more like a portable N64 than a portable GC.

Id probably think they would make something that looked like ocorina of time...

but they would probably use alot of sprites a semi-fexed camera angle and alot of mode 7 scalling(like they did in SNES but better...)

Re: Zelda DS

No way would realistic graphics be better. I mean, idealisticly, the less detail you put on a small screen while still being good looking, the better.

That's what I heard too. It'll probably look like OoT, or they could try something new with graphics that they didn't get to try with the N64. However, it's very, very unlikely that they'll do cell shading since it wouldn't be powerful enough to do that.

Nintendo said that it could. Although we have yet to see how good it would look.

Re: Zelda DS

I believe the Zelda game for the DS (which Eiji Aounoma already disclosed is being worked on) will be 3D. Like Mr. Wonderful stated, The DS is not a gameboy, so why make a game that could be played on the GBA/SP?

Uh, that's true EdgeMaster, but 10 days ago when this topic was being discussed, that was unknown... That info was only released 3 days ago. This topic should have been left alone to die, really.

I dont see why not. There is not reason why that wouldnt make a Zelda game for the DS. I think it would be cool if the top screen was used to see the maps of a dungeon without haveing to keep pressing start ever time you get lost in a dungeon.

Why? We all know that there's a Zelda DS coming--the third installment of Four Swords--why not keep its first discussion thread alive and kicking? No doubt the thread'll liven up as time goes by.

I think there's plenty of room for innovation with the two screens involved. The obvious use for them? Well, sending one/two/three Links off to do one thing whilst another goes somewhere else entirely on the other screen, if we want to give originality a swerve... Maybe there could be a Light World screen on the top paralleled by a Dark World screen below? I can see how that might work if Nintendo really got to grips with it--probably make for a very interesting adventure.
