Link better look

Woudent it be cool if you could design what the next Link would look like and what weapons he would have? what would you like him to be like? :cool:

Yeah, it would be fun. I would probably design him to look something like me, long dark brown hair, hazel eyes, 5'10", 150 lbs. It would be interesting to see myself in those situations.

Id do that too, but id change my weight and my muscular areas. or i wouldnt change it at all. I dont know.

You can't change Link's appearance! He wouldn't be the same person! Leave the character customization to the life sims (like Animal Crossing), but leave my Link alone!

heh, yeh I know. I would not like to see any big change in Links apperance maybe small things, but no big apperance change for me thanks

I'd design new useful weapons and items for Link, I have lots of ideas in my mind on many different items that could fit into a Zelda game for sure.

You guys fail to realize that Link's appearance changes in practically every game, so I don't know what you're talking about by saying "Don't you dare change my Link's appearance!". He always looks different, so why should it matter how you make him look?

Yea sure but you always have the basic components like blond-ish hair and blue eyes green tunic (k dont count the blue and red) he is a teen or a child and the biggest change we got was in WW and even then you still have the basic link traits

And i think his look fits him perfect always has and always will (xept is they majorly redesign him)

Customizing your character in a Zelda game does sort of fit. I would never use it, but it does theoretcally fit into Miyamoto's desires. He's constantly saying "I'll never make Link talk, because this way, the player feels more a part of the game." Hell, it doesn't even have to be Link in any Zelda game, considering you get to name him at the beginning of each game.

So, character customization works. Do I want it? No. Will Nintendo ever do it? Probably not.

^_^. Though it would be cool to customize Link's appearence and get away with it, it'd be like trying to beat OOT in 2 hours. and you probably can't make a new Link or that would be against Copyright laws.

You, my friend, have apparently not played all of "The Legend of Zelda" games. In "Ocarina of Time" and "Majora's Mask", Link is blonde and blue-eyed; in "The Wind Waker", he's blonde and green-eyed; in "A Link to the Past" and "Link's Awakening", he's a redhead and blue-eyed; in "Oracle of Seasons" and "Oracle of Ages", he's blonde and blue-eyed; and in "The Legend of Zelda" and "The Adventure of Link", he's brunette and brown-eyed. Granted he's usually wearing a green tunic, his hair color, hair length, and eye color is always changing. Once again, being to customize Link's appearance would in no way ruin his character.

You wouldn't want me to design a Link of any sort. Not unless you like afros and bell-bottoms. Woo. Get funkeh.

I think Nintendo do a good job anyway.

I'd like to design new weapons but I'd say leave Link the same. You can claim all the worthless minor ways in which he looks different, however one thing that hasn't changed is Link's Hylian Eleven ancestry. He's male, got pointy ears and is in great physical condition, and if all the Links are attached to the same bloodline then that would further explain a similarity between them all.

Actually the only thing I might drastically change on Link would be what he wears. Weapons aren't the only thing that help to keep you alive, especially when fighing such brutal medieval melee style combat. Green clothes seem a little weak for me, even if you have a shield. The few glimpses of Z2005 we've seen so far do show promise in making his outfit look a lot more rugged and battle ready, but it still is very light, something an archer might wear, but not exactly a swordsman. Oni Link's armor was awesome but perhaps a little too much, especially for full time use.

Yeah I guess the one thing I'd change would be his clothing. I'd make it very flexible in how you had Link dressed, perhaps similar to something like KOTOR where you could have Link running around in his underwear but doing so would result is taking damage a LOT easier. All you'd have to keep the same to make sure that the gamers would know it is Link and not some other game character would be to keep the pointy ears and long green hat.

The option to do this would rock though-or they could introduce some kind of secondary character that's completely new-kind of what Ralph was in the Oracles.

You could design them, PSO style or something.

Yet again, Link's design changes every game, so what's the big deal? Naturally he'll still be a Hylian, but you could determine things like his hair color, eye color, height, clothing, weapons. What's the problem with this?

I guess it would be good to change what link wears but if you change him too much you wouldn't even recognise him (example: change him into looking exactly like ganondorf, :eek: )

But I think it would be good if you could change the colour of the clothes...i'd love to change all the colours of his clothes to BLUE! That'd be cool. :cool:

I like the idea of being able to tweak Link to your liking. If I could, I'd get rid of his hat (unless it was handy for knowing which way the wind blew). I'd give him a slight hair-cut, change his tunic to a darker green, dull down his white-tighties, make his gloves & boots black with gold etching. Hell, I'd even ditch the tunic and tights combo for a simple shirt and pants. Maybe a nice leather jacket, too.

They redesigned Link in the latest game (yet to come). He looks very realistic, and has all different details in his clothes and gloves...But you can't give Link a complete make over.... you just can't...

Of course you can, Nintendo's changed his appearance all the time.
