What if Nintendo made an MMORPG...

What if there were a Zelda MMORPG for DS? (or if there were online Gamecube- they could make it) What should the races be? What kind of Hyrule? OOT? ALTTP? Would you be able to go to Termina? Here are my thoughts.

The races would be:

Hylian (Pointy ears)
Human
Kokiri (Only in the OOT server- read on)
Korok (Only in the OOT server)
Goron (Not in LOZ)
Zora (On the ALTTP, FS, and LOZ servers they would be the ones from the origianls- not on TWW)
Rito (Only TWW server)
Deku Scrub (Only on FS and OOT)
Gerudo (Not on LOZ or ALTTP servers)
Sheikiah (Only on OOT)
Moblin (When you chose appearance, the appearance would change from Miniblin to Bokoblin to Moblin with the change of height and weight)
Lynel (Only on LOZ server)
Stalfos (Gibdos would be the same species, just different clothes options)
Amoses
Subrosians (Only on ALTTP server)
Tokay (Only on ALTTP server)
Wizzrobe
Lizafos (OOT only)
Darknuts (Not on FS)
Poes (Ghinis in LOZ)
Goriyas (Loz only)

Servers:

FS: Land would look like it did in HA, except you could go everywhere (3D, obviously.) It would have a land to the south called Catalia. reachable through a pass in the desert, or by taking a ferry on the coast.
Starting Locations:
Hylians: Village of the Blue Maiden.
Humans: Kakariko Village.
Gorons: The Mountain Pass.
Zora: The Swamp.
Deku Scrubs: The Lost Woods.
Gerudo: The Desert of Doubt.
Moblins: Realm of the Heavens.
Stalfos: Realm of the Heavens or the Pyramid.
Wizzrobe: Realm of the Heavens.
Poes: The swamp.

OOT: In this server, the land looks like Hyrule from OOT, except much bigger. The land goes to the south to include Catalia on the other side of a forest bordering Lake Hylia. You can go through an undergroud tunnel to reach Termina.
Starting Locations:
Hylians: Hyrule Castle Town.
Human: Catalia City, Kakariko Village, or Clock Town.
Kokiri: Kokiri Forest.
Gorons: Goron City or Snowfall.
Zora: Zora's Domain or Zora's Hall.
Deku Scrubs: Deku Palace.
Gerudo: Gerudo's Fortress.
Sheikiah: Hyrule Castle Town.
Moblins: To a large stronghold in Catalia known as "Darkholde."
Stalfos: Darkholde or the graveyard in Termina.
Armoses: Darkholde.
Wizzrobes: Darkholde.
Lizafos: Darkholde.
Darknuts: Darkholde.

TWW: The land (or sea, rather) would be like a bigger version of the great sea. (realistic, not cel-shaded) More islands in every direction, including a desert isle to the west and a huge mountain chain to the north east. In other servers, players would be able to buy or rent houses from other players or the NPC, but in addition to this, on TWW server, players could buy whole islands! To the south, there would be a set of islands equal to the size of the great sea from TWW resembling the geography of Catalia from the OOT server. Also, instead of how in the other servers, you could get mounts, in this one you would get boats. You would have to pay for them like mounts, though.
Starting locations:
Hyrulians: Outset Isle or Windfall Island, mostly. Every fifth player would be on a random uninhabitted island.
Humans: Outse Isle or Windfall Isand mostly. Every fifth player would be on a random uninhabitted island.
Koroks: Forest Haven.
Gorons: Every tenth player would start on a random, uninhabbitted island, but the rest would start on that mounatin chain I mentioned. It would have a volcano, a good sized fire temple, and a village. Maybe "Death Rockys" or "Shadow Caster Isles." (Mountains would cast a huge shadow on the ocean.)
Rito: Dragonroost Island.
Moblin: Forsaken Fortress.
Stalfos: On a very huge, very creepy pirate ship in the middle of Catalia.
Armoses: The Top of the Tower of the Gods (you can't reach under sea Hyrule)
Darknuts: Top of the Tower of the Gods.
Wizzrobes: Gale Isle (or what everthe name of the island with the wind temple is)
Poes: Headstone Isle.

ALTTP: The land would be like the land in ALTTP. (In 3D) Players cuold travel to the Dark World, but they would turn into an animal and it would be hard to get back. Also, to the south would be Catalia (but slightly different than that of OOT and FS) and you could get to the coast western coast and take a boat to Koholint Island, Holodrum, or Labrynna. There would be a tunnel to Subrosia inHolodrum, and a prtal to the past in Labbrynna.
Starting Locations:
Hylians: Kakariko Village.
Humans: Kakariko Village, that city in Holodrum, that city on Labbynna, or that village on Koholint.
Gorons: Death Mountain or the place/places they are in OOA/OOS.
Zora: Near the Waterfall of Wishing.
Moblin: The Dark Pyramid or Ganon's Tower.
Stalfos: At a random dungeon in the Dark World.
Armoses: At the Dark Palace.
Subrosians: Subrosia (no crap)
Tokays: (where ever the heck the Tokays are in OOA. I don't remember. They're in the past, right? Then that would mean the start in the past.
Wizzrobes: At a random dungeon in the Dark World.
Poes: At a random dungeon in the Dark World.

LOZ: The land would be like the overworld in the original LOZ, (known as "The Great Plains") with the land from AOL to the north east, (known as New Hyrule) and Catalia to the south. (all in 3D)
Starting locations:
Hylians: At any random town in New Hyrule.
Humans: At a random city in New Hyrule or Catalia.
Zora: At one of ten random river/lake locations in The Great Plains.
Moblins: At one of ten random start points in the Great Plains.
Lynels: Death Mountain.
Armoses: Outside of a random dungeon in the Great Plains.
Stalfos: In a random dungeon in the Great Plains.
Wizzrobes: Inside Ganon's Castle.
Poes: In a random dungeon in the Great Plains.

Mounts: All species can buy a particular mount or flying mount (just a boat for the ground on in TWW):
Hylians: Horse/Eagle.
Humans: Horse/Eagle.
Kokiris: Pony/Large Robin.
Korok: (Only in TWW)/Mouthula.
Goron: Dodongo/Red Chinese Dragon that looks like Volvolgia.
Zora: Four legged fish/thing that looks like the Windfish.
Rito: (Only in TWW)/They have wings.
Deku Scrub: Three legged Deku Baba/flying Deku Baba.
Gerudo: Wolf/Flying Broom.
Sheikiah:Large cat/Grey European Dragon.
Mobins: Boar/Kargaroc (or for huge ones a helmaroc.)
Lynels: The have the legs of a horse/Brown European Dragon.
Stalfos: Skeletal horse/Skeletal Bird.
Tokay: Lizard Horse/Green Chinese Dragon
Subrosians: A huge ant/a huge fly.
Wizzrobes: Giant spiders/Broomsticks.
Lizafos: Big Lizard/Green European Dragon.
Darknut: Something like Goht/Metal Bird
Poes: Ghostly pig/Getting lifted by four bubbles.

All races could wield many weapons, but each one would have a weapon or two that only it can use.

Lance (only on a mount)

Korok: Deku Leaf
Goron: Rolling into a spiked ball
Zora: Shooting their boomerang fins/breathing fireballs
Deku Scrubs: Deku Nuts
Gerudo: Pike
Sheikiah: Whip
Moblin: Trident (It’s called a TRIDENT not a TRITON. Triton was the son of Posidon in Greek mythology, and the father of Ariel in The Little Mermaid. He wielded a trident though.)
Lynel: Dual Swords
Stalfos: Broadwsord
Amoses: Lance (anytime)
Lizafos: Throwing Dagger
Tokay: Their tail as a whip
Subrosians: Eighthstaff
Wizzrobes: Can do magic automatically
Darknuts: Tower Shield
Goriyas: Pickaxe that they can take the head off of and throw like a deadly, iron boomerang
Poes: Magic Lanterns

You know, thats not to bad at all. I like the idea of different servers, but again, as many people might comment, it won't fit into the Zelda series. Interesting idea though, with connecting worlds like that. Again though, Windwaker is 100 years before Oot, and that may cause confusion and such.

The only thing I don't understand is by putting all those races down, would we have to pick a different race, each time we "logged in"? I'd rather stick with one character, and build him/her/thing up, then keep on switching characters. It might also be hard to obtain items and other weapons, seeing how some races couldn't carry some weapons that you picked up.

DUDE, thats a great idea. I love the part about all the weapons and the races. Personally, i would be on the WW server and be a rito.

It is a good idea, and I personally would love to see a "The Legend of Zelda" MMORPG, despite many other hardcore fans. It would be fun to be different professions in Hyrule and other lands, and do things Link couldn't do, like set up a shop .

Well, this idea has been brought up many times before, but the way you went into detail is great, makes it make more sense. It actually makes me think that it would be a good idea..nothing like killing other Zelda fans with your gigantic Goron ass

Mount: Mastadon (wooly mammoth)/Huge bat
Weapon: Great Sledge

By the way, you would play as the same charecter every time. You would save it and you could pick up where you left of (only on the server you made it on) or create a new one.

It is, as previously said, a good idea, but we and many others have posted threads like this in the past, and Nintendo are most likely to not make a game like this... I admit, it'd be awesome.

Oh, and, leave Sony Online Entertainment out of this. I don't know how many MMORPGs these jerks have messed up, I sure know it's a few.

Off-topic: Well, I eventually got tired after 6 months of playing, and quit my account two days ago. Planetside isn't very impressive either, and SOE were involved there as well. I know some people are attempting to start playing SWG, so I don't want to post all the many reasons I quit the game. Besides, it would mean going off topic.

SWG was always wonderful in the beginning, but after about 4 months I kind of saw the 'real face' of the game, and simply got tired of everything that it offered. If you ask me, SOE took what is Star Wars and stomped on it and then put it in SWG.

On-topic: Mandrag, I think you suggested way too many races, 8-10 would do fine, those are way too many. But I know the feeling, I've had that dream of walking around with other players in the OoT Hyrule, and always imagined some sort of way to connect with other worlds such as Termina.

I think SOE did a very nice job when they introduced Everquest. It had everything to ask for of such a game. Unfortunately it doesnt last very long so it has to have tons of expansion sets. But the first years it was awsome. Kunark and Velious was so fantastic to explore.

The problem with making an MMORPG of Zelda is that everyone would want to be Link. It's the same thing with the as-of-yet unreleased Matrix Online. It's extremely difficult to make a game where no one can be "The One" and have it retain the same feeling as the original license. It's even harder when the original license is, itself, another game. When you all played the good ol' Zelda games, you were Link. You experienced the fascinating world of Hyrule through his eyes. You envisioned being him, slaying dragons and rescuing maidens. I seriously doubt all that many people dreamed of being a Deku Scrub or a Gerudo Thief or a guard at Hyrule Castle. I can't see how Nintendo would make a game to satisfy every Zelda fan.

But that's the point with MMORPGs, no one is extra special or strong, everyone are simple individuals. I myself wouldn't mind being a Zora, but it's probably just me.

As for Everquest, I never played that, the only MMORPG I played was SWG. Can't say Planetside did too well either.

I'd love it if that could happen! Its true what they say that it may not happen because "it isn't Zelda-like" but who cares, this is spur of the moment fantasy. There is one race that you forgot to mention. The Zuna race. Never heard of them? I wouldn't be surprized. They are a new race of the Hylean desert that made it's first cameo in FSA. All we know about them is: They made the Pyramids and Temples of the desert, and there are males (who knows, probably that's how the gerudos can give birth?). Anywho, I'd like to be either a Goron (duh look at my name), Zora, or Rito. It's hard to choose from those three. But most of all would be Goron.

Gerudos reproduce with Hylians, not Zunas.

I don't agree with that completly. SWG was not messed up by SOE.

But the Zelda MMORPG would kick some major ass./ But i think it should only be in Hyrule and a few extra lands for the MMORPG only. ANd there should be an addition of special triforce given powers and stufferz like healing and hurting magic and stufferz. WOuld be nice!

Oh. I did forget the Zuna. Do they remind anyone else of the Delfino or Noki from Super Mario Sunshine? Only in FS server, Start in the Desert of Doubt. They could ride... I'm running dry. Someone suggest something.

As for the MMORPG I think you have an interesting idea. People just want to explore Hyrule and all its mysteries. However this would create way too many flaws in the zelda timeline, unless the worlds were as small as they are in thier games. I don't think it would be a good transition either. Zelda Games play one way.

But maybe your idea can create a pretty cool game. Instead of reusing old games in servers, why don't they create a whole new world for the game. In this new world there will be all characters from all zelda games.

Yeah, surely there are other places where each of the races live.......
