Link in TWW in Minish Cap?

Hey, hey, hey- look at Link in The Minish Cap. The style is COMPLETELY that of TWW, look at how the tunic's cut and everything. It's got to be a sequel of sorts. What do you think?

Sorry if this has already occured, can't find a thread like it...

Okay, so it looks kind of like the Link from Wind Waker...who cares? Link is Link is Link. We'll see if this story ties into Wind Waker when it comes out, but for now we can assume that the new concept link is just an enhanced version of the original Link.

True and very true. Just look at FSA. They have bosses that appeared in tWW (Helmarock King, Phantom Ganon), characters that have appreared in OoT (Malon, Talon, and the Owl...can't remember how to spell his name at the moment), a Map that looks like it's straight from ALttP, and a sword that has appeared in one other game, FS. It's pretty hard to assume some things, but you have to have more "evidence" to back your case up. Like WDB said, "LInk is Link is Link". If two Links look similar, it doesn't have to mean that they are one and the same. But if two storylines sound familiar, then it's a whole different deal.

Continuing on the storyline, I believe that Link from tMC is the same from the Oracles. I've mentioned this in another forum, but I'm too lazy to find it, so I gues I'll have to type it all over again. Both OoS/OoA and tMC are created by the same company (Capcom), and Link goes on an adventure outside of Hyrule. Because Link goes on adventures outside of Hyrule (Holodrum, Lybrynna, and Minish Town...thats what I'm calling it for the time being), I think this is the "Hero of Travels". I think that makes perfect sence. The only case that it doesn't make perfect sence (watch me as I destroy my own theory) is how people may think otherwise of how the timeline goes.

OoT->MM->tWW->Zelda'05->OoS->OoA->LA->tMC->FS->FSA->ALttP->AoL->LoZ

If you'd like to discuss about my timeline, please PM me because I don't think this is the place to discuss about it. I'm just stating How the "Hero of Travels" fits into all of this.

Hero of Time:OoT & MM (its obvious that this is the first, and they are both the same Link. I don't think anyone will object by this)

Hero of Winds: tWW & Zelda'05 (It has been stated my Mr. Myamoto that Zelda'05 is the first time Nintendo has announced a sequal to the first)

Hero of Travels: OoS, OoA, tMC, LA, & FS (most take place outside of Hyrule, in LA Link already knows of Zelda. Plus in FSA it mentioned of a traveling person with a sword that when unshiethed, he split into Four....Now I don't know where the hero of travels got the Four Sword, but he got it sometime between LA and FS)

Hero of the Four Sword: FSA (They spoke of the Hero of Travels in the prequal of the game, and they also said that many years have passed then Vaati escaped his prison)

Hero of Hyrule: ALttP (it says in the end of the game that the Master Sword Sleeps forever)
Hero of Hyrule 2: AoL & LoZ (The Master Sword is not in these game)

Re: Link in TWW in Minish Cap?

I dont think we can assume that it is the same Link. The Link from ALTTP is the same official art as the Links in OOS and OOA, but they were different Links, so you cant assume they are the same Link because the drawings are the same. Of course tehy could be the same Links out of coincidence, but thats different.

Another point well taken. Usually if the artist doesn't want to change the look of the character, he/she doesn't need to. If we only had the game in our greedy little hands and knew the plot/ the enemies/ storyline and whatnot, then we could have a clearer view of where tMC is in each of our Timeline. I know Zelda'05 and tMC haven't come out, but I have my own assumptions aswell.

Well if we judge this accordingly it is a new Zelda game.. You also are talking to our philosophy tutor here... It might be a kind-of-sequal, but Zelda really has no completly direct sequals... I mean years pass between them... None of them might even be related.. Just like Mario.

Re: Link in TWW in Minish Cap?

Well you can't just say that it's the same Link based on the art style, but I can fully understand why you think this.
Nintendo should probably let us know about these things.

I'd like to know where the minish cap goes in the timeline too!

I think this could be the cel-shaded wind waker sequel that people were expecting to see. I hope it has a good, well made story to play through

Re: Link in TWW in Minish Cap?

I really don't see why everyone thinks the Link from Zelda 05 is the Link from tWW. I just can't see it, and I don't see any comment of Miyamoto saying anything about it. If someone can clear this up for me it would be well appreciated.

I wouldn't worry too much about Mario, it's set in a 'cartoon universe' if you see what I mean. I wasn't insisting that he IS the same Link, but I think because everything is so similar on him, it's possible.

Re: Link in TWW in Minish Cap?

If you're looking for an exact replica of WW Link, you won't find `im here. Look at the two, they're different.

WW Link had 2 masses of hair in the front, MC has 3
WW Link had smaller legs and feet
Look at their expressions; you can tell the MC Link has a different personality. Kind of goofy, just like his game looks.

And anyway, 4 swords Link is just like WW Link, but they're different.

Re: Link in TWW in Minish Cap?

The only game that is definitly 100% confirmed to be the same two Links are the Links in OOT and MM. I think everyone here knows that though. Although we can safely assume some other games are the same Links, OOT and MM are the only ones that are confirmed 100%. So even though the art is the same, like I said before, its not necessarily the same Link, and if it is its not just because of the official art.

Let us not forget the Link from both Oracle games. With the help of using a password and making a linked game, Link can travel to the other land, of course, prooving that he's the same Link. Link from OoS=Link from OoA. Just like OoT and MM, I think everyone knew that, I'm just stating the obvious like my friend Rayzor here, and I'm pretty sure we can all say that fact is 100% confirmed

In an interview (posted somewhere on the main site, one of the news updates I think.) Miyamoto-sama (BTW, sama is a Japanies suffix to show that you respect the person as vastly superior to you.) stated that it was a Sequel to WW and that it had WW Link, but that may or may not be true, there have been a few times when Nintendo changed the story drastically.

It is "san" not "sama." It would be Miyamato-san.
