Re: Fairy as a guide?

ya maybe he'll give it to you and you use it instead of the hookshot of the grappling hook. Anything like that would make sense. But the tingle thing makes sense in a way but not much..

Re: Fairy as a guide?

Well I wouldnt mind the return of a fairy guide but I didnt like how they would always bother you and tell you how to open a door. And the HEY really got on my nerves.

Tingle as fery

I think like WW tingle should be ferry. Dont for get if u hook up the GBA to the GC while playing WW and u got the Tingle terner (look like a GBA) u can get a friend as a ferry. If they do that they should put more interaction playing as tingle. Also free unlimited bombs could be there. They might also put a way where u can use a controler to rpalace the GBA. Think about Tingle acting like Link with is ferry sword. Also tingle is still trying to be a ferry. H might become one in the new game.

No.....not Tingle...please...anything but Tingle...about fairies, I liked Tatl so much better, it felt as though she was part of the plot, as many have said. Navi got annoying sometimes..."Hey!" "look!" "Listen!"

I liked fairies, but I think they should be left to the past...although I wouldn't mind one, I liked how they told you the names of enemies.

I would like to see a new type of companion, maybe some animal or something...like OoS/OoA

Hmm same here. I'd like to see the owl (Kaepora) be Link's companion. For the looks of Zelda'05, an owl fallowing you (from the sky, not over your shoulder all the time of course) would look awsome and more serious than having a blue puff-ball hanging onto the end of your cap. Kaepora already knows much about the land of Hyrule, so his knowledge will exceed far more than a fairy's (well...most likely, I'm just assuming). If Link (in Zelda'05) can somehow control someone/thing (just like in tWW), it would be awsome if we could control Kaepora and help Link by controlling switches/attacking far off enemies/ misguiding enemies and such.

That would rule. But Kaepora would quickly lose his mysterious status and lose alot of his novelty. I suppose some things must be sacrifices for awesomeness, I guess.

Ok, so maybe not Kaepora (I would like his mysterious status to remain in Zelda games), but a cooler Fairy. I personally liked Tatl a whole lot more than Navi, so how about stepping it up a notch? How about a a fairy that's more like a 21st century kinda guy (just without the profanity)? Or just have a fairy that's had his/her own adventures around the world, and bring that knowledge to Link when he begins his. Think of it as a "streets smart" fairy, more than a "books smart" fairy (like Navi, who sounds like everything she knows was tought from the Deku Tree....sorta like child Link in OoT).

Re: Fairy as a guide?

If there was to be a fairy in the next game it should be a new character, with a different personality than Navi or Tatl. I'd prefer a fairy rather than a stone, but either is fine with me, heh.

Re: Fairy as a guide?

Having a fairy, I think would make the new Zelda game seem more realistic as far as Z/L-targeting goes. In WW it just didnt seem right that people had yellow and red arrows above their heads. The Fairy also adds a bit more magic-ness to Link because well- fairy's are magical beings. But if a fairy was not chosen as links companion and targeteer then maybe link could have a small bird like a robin or a sparrow that could talk...maybe..

If there is a fairy in Zelda'05, I hope it will have the same targeting techniques like it did in tWW (for some reason, I just find OoT targeting system a little annoying...that and the camera angles).

That's the thing. I wish we knew if Link is going to start out in the Deku Forrest to recieve a Fairy as a companion. If not, then I do hope it's a bird (sparrow, hawk, owl,...) and in the begining of the game (like all video games) it will have a beginers tutorial on how to control the character.

Re: Fairy as a guide?

I loved OoT's targeting controls. That and Navi's ability to tell you info about the monsters you're fighting. Otherwise I'd never have known those flying skulls were Bubbles, and the actual bubbles were in fact called "Shabom".

I really hope that, if not a fairy, there is some kind of monster info system in Zelda 05.

I Really don't mind the fairys. They are kinda helpful at times and at other times are rather annoying... -.-;

I think faries were put in the game for Link to have a friend. All that exploring only gives him a few long term relationships.

Re: Fairy as a guide?

Why anyone would care enough to have a guardian fairy back in a zelda game, a feature that didn't add much of anything to the gameplay, is beyond me. In WW I really didn't notice the absence of a fairy; they were that useless.

Re: Fairy as a guide?

I miss my cute little forest fairies. The way they floated around Link. Who wants to see a big arrow over a target's head like in WW? Forest fairies let me see information on monsters which was really cool, the only way to see that information in WW was to use that Nintendo Gallery place. When I'm fighting a monster I don't want to take a picture of it then leave to get the information. Besides, someone has to teach you things. I just hope not to see those fairies from WW ever again, they kinda creeped me out... Long live the cute forest fairies! ^_^

Re: Fairy as a guide?

The fairies were a great touch to the N64 Zeldas. It was fun tapping A and watching them zoom in or out of your hood, or just watching them in the first person view when I was bored. It was also cool how they'd zoom off to let you know when an enemy is there, and how they'd tell you the enemy's name. They had a lot more personality than the arrows.
However, I don't think Link should have a fairy guide in Zelda 2005 because if he is maturing then I don't think he needs a guide anymore. Fairy characters and fountains should still be there of course, but Link should be able to handle most of the adventure on his own this time.

^^ I agree with Hylian Dan. It was nice to see a bobbing fairy by Link's head in MM and OoT. I missed them in WW. I didn't like any of the faeries in that game, especially the Great Faeires. They creep me out...Oo;

If Link has indeed matured, it would seem...hmm...childish to have a fairy floating around his head. Although it would be nice to see the fairy partner again, I doubt we'll see it in this game. I do like BigGoronSword's idea. If not a bird as a guide though, why not a Keaton? Though they may avoid people, I'd like to see them come back in the game.

EDIT: 200th post! Yay for me! ^^
