Re: Fairy as a guide?

I liked having the fairies. If we didn't have them then Link would be all alone with no friends. Navi was with Link through the whole adventure in Oot.

I kind of missed them in Tww.

Re: Fairy as a guide?

I was joking about Tingle being your 'fairy' but I hope he'll be in the game. he adds a layer of insanity to the games. He was really weird in TWW.

Re: Fairy as a guide?

I always thought Navi leaving Link at the end of OoT, was for the purpose of showing that Link no longer needed her. Like he had grown up. Sure he had Tatl in MM, but she forced herself onto him. And Link isn't exactly one to argue.

Re: Fairy as a guide?

And who said Link is a Kokiri? He never was.
Anyways, I hope there won't be any fairies. Not even the pirates the stone.
Link can complete his adventure without a fairy or the pirate stone.

It's true that everything in the trailer was in-game time but the game isn't finished. It is probable that they didn't enter in the "fairy" program in yet. I'm not saying I'd want a fairy, I like the Pirate's charm technique better.

Re: Fairy as a guide?

I love the fairies-especially Navi, she's all pretty and blue! ^__^

I don't know if they'd work in the new Zelda-a lot of people think that-but, in the ever-more realistic Zelda worlds, an extra touch of fantasy such as fairies, may help?

Well, not necessarily. Nintendo could add things at the last minute, and the game is a fair bit from completion yet.

Thanks for agreeing with me H'ey, because that was exactly what I said:

Re: Fairy as a guide?

I do like fairies, but I doubt that there will be one in this new game.
Guiding navigational fairies was the flavor of the N64 Zeldas, and now with the addition of TWW and we see a 3-D Zelda game that had no fairy, but a charm, Nintendo has given us a new source of guidance for the game. However, the horseback battles really could use a fairy for targeting... as there are HORDES of enemies.

Re: Fairy as a guide?

I wouldn't mind a fairy if it was more interactive. Like you can switch to get things in small cracks or something. Targetting could be done without a fairy. The crosshairs can appear wihtout a fairy overhead. I actlually never even noticed Navi created the crosshairs.

Re: Fairy as a guide?

Navi couldnt help it, the Great Deku Tree told her to give us her, "Words of wisdom." And the only time you really have to talk to her is Inside the Deku tree

I liked the fairies, you didnt have to talk to them if you didnt want too, and it was funny having them fallow you around. So if Link gets a fairy this game, thats cool. But I couldnt stand the stone. If it wants to talk to you, it's talken to you. You try to go open a door and ignore it, no, you have to talk to it first. Most of the time the stone did try to give me advice, it told me stuff i already knew.

Re: Fairy as a guide?

You know, I thought that I would miss Navi in TWW, but it turns out that I really didn't. It was less annoying and with the pirates charm, you didn't have to constantly hear, HEY, HEY!! So with the new game, I say to hell with the fairies!

Re: Fairy as a guide?

I hope they do not put fairies in the game. They were so freakin annoying, always going "Hey Hey". The only way I would like it is if you could kill your fairy.

haha, I can imagine it now; The Great Fairy has granted Tingle's wish to be a fairy....Tingle will look the same but the size of a fairy and his own wings....now he won't have any use for that red balloon anymore. hehe
