How good are we really EXPECTING zelda Wii to be?

Everyone wants zelda wii to be the greatest game of all time. But realistically, how good do you expect it to be?

I always have high expectations...however. Plan for the worst, hope for the best. xP

I think it'll be great. However I'm not sure how the 1:1 motion stuff will play out.

One of the best Zelda's, because of all the secrecy and years they've had (and maybe still have) to make this into one hell of a game.

Re: How good are we really EXPECTING zelda Wii to be?

^thats true too, you guys can't seriously believe that the zelda teams main focus has been PH and ST. They scream shortcuts, same graphic style as WW, same Characters, and the same type of game play, not to say thats bad or anything, but it gives thoose groups alot of time to work on other things. It feels to me like they are just games to tide us over, while they PERFECT zelda Wii

Re: How good are we really EXPECTING zelda Wii to be?

I don't have a clue, but I'm not getting my hopes up. As long as the difficulty is still retarded easy like it has been for awhile now, I have no reason to really get excited over the games anymore. I'm wishing for a Zelda to excel in quality where Majora's Mask left off. Not the same stuff like TP was OoT 2, but something more or just as impacting and wonderful. Of course, I know that is simply not going to happen.

My post from yesterday is gone, so I'll say it again. I don't really have any expectations for Zelda Wii. I want to be surprised (hopefully pleasantly).

I have pretty high expectations over the fact that it has WM+. If you own wii sport resort, most likely so are you.

Even when I didn't even had Wii Sports Resort, I was very exited over the idea of Motion Plus in Zelda, if it has good motion controls that will be enough to make a great game, all my life I wanted a game similar to this.

Re: How good are we really EXPECTING zelda Wii to be?

I expect it will be better than Twilight Princess, improving on its engine.

Plus I doubt it will feel like a rush job that felt like someone else took over halfway through like TP did

Re: How good are we really EXPECTING zelda Wii to be?

It looks like my posts got deleted because of the server problems...
Anyhow, even though "the best game ever" sounds like I'm expecting a bit too much, but IMO the zelda series is the best series of games ever and I honestly believe this will be the best zelda so far. All it really takes is make a game like wind waker but longer, or TP that isn't rushed, but with motion plus and all the new fresh changes we've been hearing about, and with the possibility of super guide to make it more challenging, It might really become the best game ever.

Re: How good are we really EXPECTING zelda Wii to be?

Based on what we know, Zelda Wii is going to implement Wii Motion Plus, which will feel like your swining Link's sword, although after awhile, i'd imagine swining the wii-mote would get tiring, so good and bad from there.
There is also other things, from a few interviews, we can piece together that Miyamoto wants to go away from the usual Zelda Formula for a suprise, this can be a good or bad thing, and it can also be interperated as brining more action outside of dungeons, sort of like TP, how things happened inbetween dungeons, rather than older games where there wasn't much inbetween, which can be good or bad also.
Another thing to point out is Miyamoto wanting to make Zelda Wii graphically beautifaul, which of course will be good.
I'm expecting good things from this game honestly, i'm not expecting it to be the best, but there is potential, but the fact that it's likely to be easy since Nintendo wants to make the game more accesible, brings my expectations down for an amazing challenging adventure.

One of the best, again.

However, I intend to go over it with a scalpel when I get it. So if you see a review from me...It's gonna be harsh.

Re: How good are we really EXPECTING zelda Wii to be?

I think it'll be good. Not one of the top 5, but still good. I don't think it can get any worse than TP, but who knows. This time around they won't be rushed to release like they were with TP, so more time spent working on the game means better quality. However, the change in the formula they've been talking about could make or break Zelda Wii.

I'm excited for the game, but I don't expect it to be another masterpiece.

Yeah right. They're making a new engine. From the ground up.

I think this game has the potential to beat out TP...but I also fear it'll suffer from "Watered down" syndrome...meaning that the game will be missing the complexity needed for a Zelda game. It seems to me that the team keeps bringing PH up and saying "OH! Why need to do this on the Wii now, too!" Miyamoto also emphasized that they want to focus more on the core and not on the normal added gameplay of new Zeldas.

That worrys me...I don't like overly simplified things. But I'm sure I'll love this game.

I thought TP was amazing, so if they manage to improve on it, this will be a great game.

Re: How good are we really EXPECTING zelda Wii to be?

My post got deleted, so I'll say it again.

Nintendo's way of thinking has completely changed since the days of TP and the GC, where they only thought of "more, better", which directly resulted in the GC, and TP and Sunshine.

This change in philosophy gave birth to Galaxy, which I enjoyed more than SM64.

Not to sound overly hyped or anything, but I have full confidence that I'll enjoy ZWii more than the N64 Zeldas (IMO, the best 3D Zeldas).
