Zelda Wii Will Not See a 2010 Release
Well, I don't quite know what to think of this...
Source: http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=103224 I mean, I'm very happy that they're spending so much time into this game; it seems like Nintendo actually cares this time around. Though, if we don't get any info before this year's E3, (and that's highly likely, ) then I'm going to go ****ing berserk. That's my two cents. |

A hunch: they haven't been working on it for too long

They'll show it at E3. He promised. 2010 was just Miyamoto's estimate. He said 2010 at the earliest.

But yeah, basically he said he wasn't sure at this point. We may see a 2010 release, we may not. I guess we'll have to wait. |

Re: Zelda Wii Will Not See a 2010 Release
The earliest I see it is Holiday season of next year. That's such a long way to go. Knowing Nintendo, though, delays are something they take for granted.

Re: Zelda Wii Will Not See a 2010 Release
Nintendo may have their next console close to release by the time Zelda Wii comes out. We may have another dual release on our hands. After Twilight Princess I've come to realize that more time on a game does not equal better quality. Hell, the guys at Insomniac Games can crank out a Ratchet and Clank every year that's of superb quality.
I don't know what they're spending time on, but something tells me they could be working faster.

It'll be pretty quick, I'm sure. This year is flying by already. Well, it's almost over! 2010 is just around the corner. If itis released on the Holiday of 2010 I'll be extremely happy.
Many other companies reuse the same models and engines everytime they make a new game. Zelda has a tendency to restart or drastically change every few years.

^My thoughts, exactly. Something tells me they haven't invested much time or money for extra development staff. Based on the very little we know about ZWii, I have no hopes of a perfect game that took ages to make. |

You're quite right, now that I think about it. I mean, Look at Majora's Mask in comparison to Twilight Princess, for example. If I'm not mistaken, MM was made in less then... two years, I think? While TP was in production for more then three years.... And I think MANY of us can agree on the same level about which one being the better of the two... |

Re: Zelda Wii Will Not See a 2010 Release
...MM copied and pasted everything that was in OoT. People wouldn't let that go for ages. I doubt everyone would be estatic if Nintendo took TP and flung out another game that looked and acted exactly like it. I know I wouldn't be happy. That was my main issue with ST. It looks like they grabbed PH and said, let's not throw this away quite yet.

Re: Zelda Wii Will Not See a 2010 Release
Misleading title. No where does it say that zelda wii will not be comingm out in 2010. It just says that it is not confirmed to come out in 2010.

Re: Zelda Wii Will Not See a 2010 Release
I think they've actually spent most of their time experimenting on new ways to use Motion Plus and all that. Miyamoto said back in 2007, they were experimenting with new gameplay mechanics.
If you knew anything about how the Japanese make games you'd think again. These guys DON'T sleep. They get so stressed out about their jobs that the bald fisherman from OoT is based off of a worker who lost all his hair during OoT's development.

Re: Zelda Wii Will Not See a 2010 Release
It's likely it'll be seen and we'll hear much more about it in 2010. But the actual game won't come out until much later, most likely around 3011.

It will seem like 3011 by then, won't it.

That's Reggie and Miyamoto in a nutshell. Eiji Aonuma always spills the beans, but he's too busy now...I suppose.

Re: Zelda Wii Will Not See a 2010 Release
This.
All those "Wii" title games had the core teams helping with those being developed. This game probably has less development time than Majora's Mask right now.

Re: Zelda Wii Will Not See a 2010 Release
obviously they havent been working on this since the day after TP
i say this game is probably in mid-project now plus if miyamoto says 2010, then we should count on 2011 itll probably be delayed anyways
