Contacting Nintendo
Hi everybody at zelda universe
![]() I have been realy stupid, because even if I knew that it would be a very minimal chanse of making my idea real, I have been working on sketches for a Zelda game in two years now. And I'm not just talking about a storyline that I've been polishing for a very long time no I have sketches for every single room and puzzles in all the eight temples of the game, I have created new weapons and items and made new ways of using old ones too! The same for old and new characters, gameplay, bosses, every single enemie and new places and so on. Every one of the "Zelda nerds" I've been showing this too have been overjoyed that it is a game with the right zelda feeling and with personalitys that's not of from the originals. My problem is that Nintendo will not even look at my work. I'm not saying that it must be done, but some credit from them would'nt be that bad. so is there anyone who knows somebody that knows the way in to Nintendo itself or another person in the game industry who may have some contacts? happy for answers/Ryoni

Re: Contacting Nintendo
Nintendo doesn't take ideas from the fans, nor have they ever required the help to make one of the games from them. Best left to the professionals.

Re: Contacting Nintendo
I wish this was possible, might at least try. I think you should email both NoA and NoJ, because NoA speaks English, but doesn't have much to do with Zelda, but NoJ has lots to do with Zelda, and might have some service for English speakers.
I don't know how to contact them, I suggest looking around nintendo.com or something. |

Re: Contacting Nintendo
Forums like this one are perfect for venting your fandom and creativity. Don't bother trying to get your ideas across Nintendo and the LoZ developers. That's the most insane thing I've ever heard.

Re: Contacting Nintendo
Nintendo is such a massive company, It has small divisions like Nintendo of Europe, Nintendo of America etc but none of them has any real power in the company, and they get so many e-mails and letters, tens of thousands a day in any division, contacting them is probably almost impossible it would just get lost in cyber space or the post.

Re: Contacting Nintendo
The chances of them looking at your request and ideas is like finding that speck of sand that you flicked in the depth of the universe.
However, that shouldn't stop you from doing what you're doing now. It never hurts to imagine your own ideas of a new Zelda game. I personally would like Nintendo to look at my artworks for Zelda, but I just store them in my portfolio (as Hombre De Mundo suggested) for future references.

Re: Contacting Nintendo
I have many ideas for what I believe would be a fantastic Zelda game.
I realise that even if I managed somehow to get any of the higher ups on the Zelda team to read it, it wouldn't be made |

Re: Contacting Nintendo
Just think how any more zelda games we would get if Nintendo took ideas and help from fans *sigh*
BUT it would make the timeline even MORE messed up ![]() Speaking of which, how well does your ideas fit into the timeline?

It is the 3rd part after wind waker and spirit tracks, a few years after defeating bellum. It allso referes now and then to ocarina of time but as I said, It won't mess up so much at all

Re: Contacting Nintendo
You might as well post it now. Nintendo will not take submissions for games, especially for one of their pre-existing titles. What you're trying to give them would be considered an "unsolicited" submission, and most companies will reject packages like that immediately without opening them. It's mostly to protect themselves from legal disputes about how some submission they received was eerily similar to some already existing project they had been working on.
If you want to design for video games, you need to make a big name for yourself on your own, and then get tapped or "solicited" to work on other people's projects. EDIT: I couldn't find a general overlaying rule for Nintendo's policy for submissions, but from the customer service page for Wii: Quote:

Re: Contacting Nintendo
Ryoni - Nintendo themselves will not take fan suggestions like this to heart, but I can ensure someone at NoA at least gets to glance at it. ZeldaInformer has a couple PR contacts with NoA and I know at least one of them checks ZI regularly. I only know this because once or twice a month he'll email me applauding our articles. So, if you want, I can provide you a nice platform at ZI to at least get them to "look" at it.
Nothing will come of it, but who knows? If you magically see one of your ideas in a Zelda title down the line you maybe can go "Hey that might be there because of me!". Of course, no one will believe you, but at least your work will get some decent fan recognition. Just a thought.
