I don't know..... if there was I hope it won't be in first person. I could work, Mario had a few RPG's so Link might need one too!

Re: Legend of Zelda RPG

No, it wouldn't work. I've never been a fan of Oblivion. I remember when I first played it, they just through me out in the overworld and I was like.... OK.... I ended up exploring the city trying to see if it would advance the plot of the story in any way, but I ended up being bombarded with sidequest after sidequest. It took me a few hours until I realized that I had to manually select the main quest in the start menu to find out where to go. I ended up not ever completing the main quest though, because the story was so bland and generic. I just got super rich, bought a house in every city, completed all the arena fights, leveled up insanely high..... and got bored.

Oblivion is not a bad game, but I found the lack of focus and direction on the plot made it feel unorganized and messy. I tend to like games with expansive worlds and many sidequests, but this game took it way too far.

That's what happened to me my first time through Oblivion. My second time was different; I never got bored. The thing about Oblivion is that you have to set personal goals. You have to think "what would happen if I did that?". You have to keep thinking that to keep things interesting, otherwise the game will stagnate. You have to try new things, never get caught up in a cycle of doing the same things over and over. Believe me, you may think you had seen a lot, but the game is super deep, and there is always something to do. You just have to make a conscious effort to keep it fresh.

Re: Legend of Zelda RPG

hmm. nice input Joe. i agree with you that the elder scrolls has a story line that's rather hard to follow, but i'm saying more along the exploration lines. the being able to get different weapons, clothing, all that happy stuff. and yeah, the storyline would have to be rather straightforward.
