Re: Should Ganondorf go away for a while?

In hindsight guys, I don't really care or see why this is such a big deal.

I just think Ganon is an iconic badass.

I don't get the whole cliche argument, because Zelda in it's purest form is nothing but a gigantic collection of cliche fantasy ideas.

Not really. The better Zelda games steer clear of the cliches. Link's Awakening, for example, has very few, as does Majora's Mask. And besides, the reason I'd like Ganondorf to have a break is precisely because he just isn't badass any more. It is very difficult to be badass when you've been defeated 8 times by children between the ages of 10 and 17.

As the 'boi said, Ganondorf is a badass. But we haven't really seen him do anything badass.

Ganondorf in WW is shown to have motivations for his actions. But we haven't seen him do anything while motivated by them.

VERY LITTLE of his potential has been tapped into.

Opinion. Don't use this (bolded) as a point.

And as for the "not badass coz he's too easy" bit, just make him harder. And more sinister.

As far as I'm concerned, the only thing that needs a permanent break is the gameplay processes required to defeat him.

agreed,

although, i think for the sake of the timeline, they should explained his unexplained appearances, and then he should be done for good.

whoa, whoa, whoa, what?

First off, whether or not those are the "better" games in the series is completely subjective and irrelevant really. Personally, MM and LA arent in my top 3 for the series.

LAs being a dream was cliche in itself.

The CHARACTER majora was also cliche.

Not that I'm directly disagreeing, but could you please elaborate?

Well, I am most certainly late in this topic, but I say to keep Ganondorf. Nobody could ever replace that guy with a few exceptions....

Re: Should Ganondorf go away for a while?

I can't see the Zelda series ever abandoning Ganon. He's not just "the cliche villain." The whole series revolves around the Triforce in some way. Ganon can't be gone, because then there wouldn't be anybody to steal the Triforce or anything. He's the only person in Zelda that even wants to steal it, and without that, what's the point of having Link and Zelda?
I'm still almost 100% sure he's going to make a better appearance in Zelda Wii. Why? Zelda Wii is obviously somewhat centered on the Master Sword. Every game to feature the MS has Ganon, otherwise, what would be the purpose of it?

In all honesty though, Ganon should take a break, let maybe two games pass with another villain(s) like, then make a refreshing comeback.
