How about Ganon in a double roll, kind of like Sheik?

That would be cool, kind of like the woman in ALttP that turned out to be Blind the Thief, only the pretense would last longer?

That has many interesting possibilities.

On the OTHER hand, we could just get a new Ganondorf. I mean, it's not the same Link and Zelda every time, why should there only be one Ganondorf?

Re: Should Ganondorf go away for a while?

It seems I'm the only one in this thread that really enjoyed his presence in TP. But I'd like to see more of WW-esque Ganondorf. Or at the very least play up the differences between child timeline and adult timeline Ganondorf. It's my head canon that his original motives were the same but depending on the timeline, it somehow gets twisted and driven by greed.

So yeah, Ganondorf's just as much a staple to the game as Link and Zelda. And taking him away permanently would just be taking away a lot of potential from the series.

I think that one of the reasons people are disliking GDorf is because we havent actually seen him do anything truly sinister.

I really do think that GDorf is becoming a bit cliche. I mean, it's always the same with him. He takes over kingdom. You are thrust out of your life of peace to save the kingdom and the princess. Then you go play ping pong with deadly lighting bolts. Weeeeeeeee....

Never doubt the power of ping pong, it is a proven combat method.

He is a bit cliche, given, but that's why he needs a little revamp. Not so much personality wise, but maybe combat wise.

Re: Should Ganondorf go away for a while?

They really should have not allowed Ganondorf to return in TP. It was a surprise, but nt exactly a good one. It was more like "what is he doing here?"

Technically, I want to see Vaati 3D. They are really overusing Ganondorf too much. Let him rest for a bit, or at least, create a new villian.

Re: Should Ganondorf go away for a while?

Personally, I don't really see the point in introducing a new villain when Ganondorf hasn't really had a "great" appearance. He has potential.

Asking Nintendo to replace Ganondorf with a new villain at this point is like asking Nintendo to replace the Wii with a Wii HD. Both of the former have potential, but nobody seems to like them.

Re: Should Ganondorf go away for a while?

I want ganondorf to go away for good, but at the same time, I feel like there are too many random appearences of him to justify replacing him at the moment, there should be a couple games that ezplian things about ganondorf, although i guess they don't even NEED ganon in them to work. Such as the origin of the trident, or the creation/restoration of the MS on the adult timeline (assuming you put Alttp there anyway). Fill in these wholes, and you get a theoretically solid timeline
/WW-PH-St- MC-Loz-Aol- origin of trident-FS-FSA-creation of MS/sealing War-Alttp-OoZ-LA
OoT
\MM-TP

Once thats done, not necessarily like that but you get the idea, goodbye ganny

Stop using the cliché as an excuuse WHOLE ZELDA IS CLICHÉ!!!!

There should be more interaction with Ganondorf and Link, like they really are archenemies instead of meeting Ganondorf at the end.

Oh dear, so many fallacious straw man arguments here.

Anyhow, I'd like to think of the topic at hand with just one game at a time. In which case I hope that Zelda HD is Gannon(dorf) less.

The Wind Waker?

Correction: he had potential, and that potential has now been throughly plumbed. His potential is now gone.

You seem to have missed when I said that I wouldn't have a problem with ganon taking a short break.

Regardless, I don't feel you could rightfully emove him entirely from the series. He's too much of an icon. It's like superman without lex luthor or batman without joker.

Exactly, we've never actually have seen Ganon doing the evil, we've only the aftermath. We need more Ganon in action. Have him kill the king in front of Link's eyes or something, make Link lose the battle and suffer the consequences.

And yeah the whole Zelda story is as cliche as it can get really.

Stop being narrow minded, it is FAR from gone. You're saying that because you're not fond of him, Nintendo hasn't even begun exploring Ganondorf. How can you say it's thoroughly plumbed if the only thing he has ever done has been the same every time?

That wouldn't change a lot seeing that Zelda and Link still we're basicly Zelda and Link as they have always been.

Unless they make him totally unaware of his past life like link was, that could be cool. Focusing the game on preventing the new Ganondorf to become like his previous incarnation has many interesting story possibilities.

Perhaps, he could misguide Link into doing the wrong thing without Link (the player) knowing it.

While there have been some minor differences in his appearances, it's safe to say that his character has been spent of impact. Every reapperance we have been presented with has required immense rehash, and the next will be no different, I predict. If Nintendo did choose now to embrace real change with Ganondorf, they would gain more by merely creating a new character with greater possibility from the outset.

Re: Should Ganondorf go away for a while?

Actually, he was fully explored as he should have been in the Wind Waker. We got motivation, emotion, drama, and an amazing finale where he is buried under the seas. After that, we really didn't need him for another five games or so.

No, I have presented my opinions, and they are truthful - they are what I think, but I certainly don't expect them to be infallible, or commonly accepted when people obviously have different perspctives. By all means, challenge them.
