Do you think Link should have an insturment in future games?

So for future Zelda games do you think Link should have an instrument? If so,what ?(it must be able to play at least five notes) I played OoT then TP and really missed playing an instrument. I know you can howl in TP but it's just not the same. I also really think L ink should use the mandolin.

I honestly want some form of an ocarina to return. It's too classic, and it fits Link perfectly.
On the other hand, I think it would be cool to see Link with a brand new instrument that is completely unique to the Zelda series.

I'd like to see Link play a sort of violin-type of instrument.
It'd be something completely new. Not really new but not used yet.

Deffinitely. Specially now that we have Wii Motion Plus. Wii Music may have lacked on content, but as a minigame, using instruments on a Zelda game once again would be great. I actually now the notes and variations available on the N64 controller to this day =D I kind of tend to screw things up when playing with the GameCube controller, though.

But, yes, without a shadow of a doubt. Preferably a variety of instruments, as much as I find it very unlikely to happen.

And with that said, I'd like to introduce to you all to the Pan Flute:

In the past Link has used a flute, an ocarina, a horn, and a whistle*. All these instruments have three things in common: they are wind instruments, they are small/portable, & they sound beautifully.

A Pan flute fits all three of these criteria (plus it can play multiple notes ala the ocarina).

Now the violin is a nice suggestion, however it seems to elligant of an instrument for the lone-hero-on-the-go. Personally I think a regular silver reeded flute or violin would be best suited for someone that has an elligant lifestyle...like a princess perhaps And Oracle Nayru had a beautiful singing voice, so I wouldn't pull it past Zelda to sing (but that may require voice acting, unless her voice is replaced by instrument music).

An Ocarina; Of course!!!

I know this is a bit sheik-ish but i think a harp would fit the role nicely.

Ocarina fits his image best, has since Link's Awakening when they first showed him graphically playing an instrument. I say stick with it, but don't make it the Ocarina of Time again.

the ocarina has become soooo over used though its in Alttp (well "flute" technically, but it looks exaclty like an ocarina.) LA. MM. OoT
as for the howling in TP i think it was a good idea, just a failure of execution. They didn't vary it, or make it important enough to the game

Maybe something similar has been used before.

The instrument should return, but use it in a more of a side quest sort of way. Or have him play multiple instruments to accomplish different tasks, like to get heart pieces or other optional items.

yeh side quest idea sounds good

A small portable wind instrument like an ocarina or a pan flute is perfect for Link.

He could sax it up. Link with an Alto Saxophone, ♥♥♥♥ yes.

Altos are for girls. Link needs a bari.

I like the idea of Link having a string instrument of some kind. I dunno, like a mini harp. Pretty reminiscent of Sheik, but hey. It was a good idea, what not use it?

The thought of Link with a string instrument is... I don't know. A bit too feminine? It suits Sheik and Zelda so perfectly, but not Link. You need fine hands, and Link's ones are used for battle only.

The Ocarina should come back. And also, it should not be replaced either.
