Guess Zelda Wii's Plot!

This is perhaps the funnest time of Zelda fandom, when we know that a new game is coming out, but we really don't know what's going to happen in the game. Zelda Wii's coming, that's for sure, but we don't know when, and we don't even have a trailer yet.

So here's what I propose. Guess Zelda Wii's plot. Just take a wild, crazy guess and say what you think the basic storyline is gonna be. Two years from now, when the game's come out and we've all beaten it, we can look back at this thread and see who's guess was the closest to the actual plot.

Here's mine, for an example:

The Link in the Zelda Wii picture is TP Link; the game is a TP sequel. He is wandering in a land that is not Hyrule, looking for a way to find Midna again (but the game will never say this outright). Along the way he will encounter an ancient demon terrorizing a foreign land. He will fight the demon, but lose at first. Link will then team up with the mysterious girl seen in the poster to defeat the evil creature, because she has the power to harm it. He'll go through some dungeons to gain enough power to defeat it. At the end of the game, the girl sacrifices herself to destroy/seal the demon, causing Link much heartache. He then continues his journey.

You ready to try it? Guess Zelda Wii's plot! Come up with any crazy ideas you can think of, because who knows? That might be what happens!

Because I am a very, very lazy person, I'll just copy&pasta something I already typed in a previous thread... Sowwy about that, like I said, I is lazy, lol.


I have a feeling that the plot will definitely center around the Dark Interloper conflict and the creation/origins of the Master Sword. If not that, then it'll either focus on the Imprisoning War (AKA - what happened before OoT,) or the rejuvenation of the Master Sword


Also, the fact that they're already showing the "side kick" character... This mysterious, young "sword mistress" girl so early in time, seems to signify that she will EXTREMELY important to the plot. In other words, I'm assuming that her role will be larger then say, Midna's role was in TP. So yeah, we might me getting another side character that'll be hogging up Link's screen time again.

I'm expecting her to be one (or several,) of the following things.


1. The personification of the Master Sword itself. In other word's, the "spirit" of the Master Sword that can freely transform into a girl or the blade itself whenever is necessary.

2. An extremely powerful fairy or spiritual entity who resides within the Master Sword, who provides its power to banish evil.

3. A special sage or guardian that watches over the sword; perhaps she is it's mistress or it's creator/forger.

4. A girl who was "chosen" by the gods, sages, etc. to be offered as a sacrifice to the sword. Her life would be taken in exchange for replenishing the blade's magical powers.

5. A royal or religious figure from the Realm of Light; most likely very powerful in terms of magic and social status. A young princess or sage, perhaps?


I would love to see a mix of numbers 3, 4 and/or 5 happen in the game's actual plot, but judging from Miyamoto's comments so far, it looks like it'll end up being a mix of 1 and and 2 instead... Kinda gimmicky if you ask me, but we'll just have to wait and see I guess.

Now, concerning Link's connection with this new girl, I would love to see Nintendo tackle a very close sibling/parental relationship between these two... But that probably won't be the case. Regardless of that, I can already assume that they're going to have some sort of a very close relationship in the game, judging by the picture alone. I'm hoping for some really in-depth character development between the two, but once again that may not happen, since Link doesn't really have any dialogue or lines or anything to exemplify himself (which I think is probably one of the main reasons why Midna ended up getting more attention in TP.) Going back to the artwork again, I noticed that Link was in a protective stance, while the girl in front of (behind? lol,) him looks a little intimidated and insecure (maybe we can expect some ICO styled gameplay or something, for the lulz,)


We'll probably be getting a fresh, new villain as well. I think Nintendo gets the idea that most the fans are tired of seeing Ganon/Ganondorf by now. Hopefully we'll get one that's as intimidating and destructive as Majora, or maybe one that's as bad@$$ as Zant, (BEFORE he went all zany during that second-to-last Final Battle thing, I Mean. He was pretty cool before that happened, lol.)

Ok, back to the plot. It might actually take place before OoT, since it's heavily implied that the Interloper conflict took place before that, while it's definitely confirmed that the Imprisoning War happened before the OoT events as well.

Oh, and please add some actual depth and merit to the plot like you did with with MM and the end of WW, Nintendo. Some dark, disturbing themes and atmosphere would be great as well. Lot's of character development and character interaction would be a major plus, maybe even some issues concerning war, loss, death... etc. You know, have some sad stuff happen in the long run so that it pulls our heart strings a little.

That probably wont happen though. We probably won't get another Zelda as dark as MM, but whatever, I can dream, right? lol.

Hmm... I think it will involve Russians, ganon, a pack of AA batteries, a train ticket, 5 pints of orange juice, a bowling ball, Tom Hanks, a copy of Spiderman 1 on VHS, and the Master Sword.

Yeah.

Link must somehow save Princess Zelda and defeat Ganon to prevent him from gaining all three shards of the Triforce.

Anyway. I hope to see some more in-depth charachter developments. And yes I agree that it would be nice to see a darker plot line in Zelda Wii. Posibly something from Links past comes back to haunt him and is constant struggle that he has to overcome before being able to beat the ultimate villian. Yes, this is probably WAY to dark for Nintendo but I'm just putting out an idea.

I would guess that it might have something to do with the creation of the Master Sword and the first Link.

Or, we could have something where Link is propelled to the future and has to use the spirit of the Master Sword to get back. I STILL BELIEVE!!!

We had a similar thread to this a few days ago. If you scroll down, you'll find it. But yeah, I'll just paste what I posted in that thread.

Given the art style of the game, it will probably be a standalone sequel to Twilight Princess like Majora's Mask was to Ocarina of Time. I don't have a problem with this, but I have my doubts that Nintendo will really deliver what I and many other fans would like to see.

Anyway, my idea/hope is that the game will explore the history of the ancient Hylians; the very same Hylians that forged the Master Sword and founded Hyrule in the first place. Hopefully, the overworld is expanded and fleshed out or set outside of the world we saw in Twilight Princess (i.e. another region of Hyrule). Dungeons would probably be fundamentally the same as they are now with specific themes, though there will probably he a history to them involving the ancient Hylian people.

And I pray to God Almighty that Ganondorf isn't the primary antagonist. Sure, they can mention him since the game really only takes place a few years or so after Twilight Princess and he would most likely be remembered, but beyond that I would prefer for him to be just that: a memory and nothing more.

I think Zelda Wii will involve a male and a female with pointed ears, and then a beast that looks like a butt ugly shaved pig, with a worm fairy as its tail. And the beast steals the cheesy pizza waffles from the female. And the male gets pissed off at the beast for stealing his mates cheesy pizza waffles. So he puts on his iron boots and then clawshots the beasts tail, which causes the beast to yell, "What the hell, man?".
The beast gives the cheesy pizza waffles to the male who then gives it to his mate. And then mates.

You mean ZWii's Link being the HoT? That's who I think it is based only on appearance. As for the blue fairy/sword girl's involvement. No clue.

Personally, I'd like this game to be about the Imprisoning War. That's a really messy part of the timeline that I think Nintendo should clear up before they do anything else with the canon.

As for the girl in the artwork, I think she's probably the Master Sword's spirit. My guess is that the sword will break at some point early in the game, releasing her, and then she and Link will need to set out to reforge the sword. On the way, they'll learn how the sword was originally forged and what its purpose is and stuff like that.

Fine... I'll type...

I was thinking that since the master sword is suppossedly the only thing stopping Ganondorf from getting into the sacred realm, he finds a way to seperate the sword from its evil repelling powers, letting him gain acess to the sacred realm. He then enters the sacred realm to find that the triforce isn't actually there. This all leads up to the execution scen from TP.

Link, after his adventures in Termina, grows up and becomes the royal famaly's high knight. He marries Malon and continues the farm business that was started by her father. Malon becomes pregnant, and Link apon hearing such news, is uncertain that he will make a good father. Through his adventures with this "Master sword girl", he learnes and develops great parenting skills after looking after her for so long.

In the end, we learn why the temple of time is where it is in TP, and we learn more about the Oocca and the sheikah. The Hero of Time becomes succesful in his mission but comes to a fatal end as he is killed somewhere in the lost woods, and is unable to raise his newborn son/daughter.

That's along the line of what I'm thinking(hoping) as well. If a beginning movie started with "Dawn of a New Day" and showed Link's life prior to Zwii's main plot I would be a very happy fan.

I assume Link dying would then lead into the Hero's shade?

. Yes indeed.

A sequel to MM would also be interesting because we would be able to see familiar characters such as Saria, Ruto, and all of those other sages from OoT. Although it is unlikley that they became sages on the CT.

I actually find that a good idea as well. What if the hero failed? Or perhaps he sacrificed himself to defeat Ganon. This would bring a much darker plot to the Zelda series.

But it wouldn't be Zelda. It wouldn't be Nintendo at least, which makes it not Zelda by default.
