ZWii Music: What songs from past games should be included in new game?

Though I really hope Zelda Wii includes a mostly original score rather than a barrage of re-done versions of past Zelda songs, there are still some I'd like to hear:

1. File select screen "Fairy Fountain" song, in its familiar vibraphone bells and harp form that we hear in most Zelda file select screens. I think it's officially become a staple.

2. The game should include mini-dungeons, and the theme of each of these should be various re-mixed versions of the dungeon theme from the original LoZ, and there should be a different version for each mini-dungeon.
**The mini-dungeons should be the new way to retrieve key items in the game, instead of retrieving them in the middle of each main dungeon. The mini-dungeons will be much shorter than the main dungeons, and will contain more combat than puzzle solving. This will be meant to bring back the old nostalgic feeling of the dungeons from the original LoZ, which is why I want the old theme remixed for these mini-dungeons.

3. The "Zelda's lullaby" theme should be included, while accompanied with scenes with Princess Zelda. However, change it up a bit, add more parts to the song, and make the main melody slower and lighter.

4. Before the final dungeon, after the game's central villain has taken control of the Triforce and is beginning to overtake Hyrule (or whatever the setting is), the regular (and originally composed) overworld music will be replaced with the Dark World theme from ALttP. This will be a slower, darker, more depressing version of the theme.

You can tell I got some small ideas for the game in general. But I'm also looking forward to what masterpieces Koji Kondo can cook up for this one. Zelda, being my favorite video game series overall, also includes my favorite video game music.

What favorites from the past do you want to see return in the new game? And how would you want them to be re-done, if at all?

Personally, I think they should bring the Ocarina back, along with a plethora of past songs and some new ones.
One piece in particular that I would like to see return is the song of storms... love that one.

With the exception of the Zelda theme song, none.

New Zelda games need to stop recycling all the songs from past Zelda games.

Personally I'd like to see mostly new music (Spirit Tracks has an amzing theme for example and I'd like to see more songs like it), but I would absolutely kill to see some songs from other, more obscure games return. How about some Zelda II, Minish Cap and Links Awakening remixes rather than yet more ALTTP/OOT fanwank?

Obviously, key pieces of music need to return - tracks that we associate heavily with certain people or places and it wouldn't feel right if they were changed, like the Lost Woods theme and Zelda's Lullaby.

Aside from those, I don't think that Nintendo should reuse any old tracks.

I want to see the boss battle theme from aLttP used in at least one boss (or mini-boss) fight.

The file selection/Fairy Fountain theme MUST return. It's now a Zelda standard, together with hearts and rupees, and should be kept IMHO.

It's also very exciting to hear a new version or variation of the theme the first time you're about to play a new adventure.

I still think they should use the original overworld theme as a part of the new overworld theme. Dynamic music is the norm now in Zelda games and I think it would be nice to open with the classic overworld theme for nostalgia's sake and then segue into a new piece. MM tried to do something like this, though the expanded/new part was extremely short. We have yet to hear an orchestrated version of the NES/ALttP overworld theme in-game so I think it would be nice to hear it again in Zelda Wii.

Other than that, I would like to hear the temple theme from AoL or the sanctuary level theme from ALttP but I think it would be better to just create new music beyond the original overworld theme and fairy fountain.

I honestly think that new songs should be implemented. With the exception of the Fairy Theme, Zelda's Lullaby, and the Main Theme, everything should be different! The different songs and sounds would sharpen interest in Zelda players because it's something they've never heard before, and perhaps unconsciously make the game better for them.

They should use the classic zelda theme, and the title select screen. That's it.

Why do I say this? You want a semi-original Zelda title again? A title that feels fresh and not rehashed? Then that would also include teh music. All new music for an all new game.

The file selection/Fairy Fountain theme is a must. Selecting files won't feel the same without it! D: Oh, same with going to a fairy's fountain. :3

Other than those, I think Nintendo should do their best and make brand new music.

I give Fairy Fountain File selection as a given.

I really want the Zelda Main theme back, we haven't ever got in on a main console game since MM, and it wasn't one of the best versions of it at all.

A theme I would really like to hear orchestrated, no, what, even in high quality midis would be good, Tal Tal Mountain, that theme was so awesome, I wish Brawl hadn't ruined it...

Also...

The Hyrule Castle Theme is mandatory.

Also a remix of the LoZ dungeon theme, on pipe organ.

And also, TP's Gerudo Desert Theme was real cool.... so we can bring that one back too.

I didn't think TP and WW really re-hashed the Zelda music all that much. There were obvious little "tributes" in many of the pieces, but they hardly represent a pattern of outright copying preceding works music-wise.

In fact, the only Zelda games that really do are FSA and MM. I mean, you're all over MM, aren't you?

I expect a remake of Gerudo Valley. No exceptions.

It'd also be nice to have a remake of the Song of Storms.

I'm not expecting anything that wasn't first heard in Hyrule (e.g. Song of Healing) though.

oh I forgot Zelda 2 - Dungeon theme

Yeah I actually think they shouldn't do all new music, or all the same music. They should redo some old music to make it fit the theme of the game. So if the game is darker they could make the songs darker.
