Re: Let's pretend Nintendo JUST showed the teaser trailer
Um, hard to know what will be showed, though I can gaurentee you see a few shots that show "people" playing the game, so you can get a better idea of the controls. It will highlight the control scheme, the graphics (if you have h ad a chance to play MH3 and noticed that the zelda team had to rethink the graphics engine after that game came out, you will understand how gorgeous the game will be), and maybe show up a new feature or two, like the TP one did with mounted combat. Ultimately, it will be pretty exciting.
I know people feel like no one will make the mistake of overracting again, but I think you're wrong. It's been 3 years already since the last console Zelda, and this one has been rumored to be in production ever since the last came out. So... thats three years of development already. Next year is when we will see the first trailer, and the earliest we can expect is holiday 2011. That would be what, 5, almost 6 years of development? I think the hype train will be even bigger.

Re: Let's pretend Nintendo JUST showed the teaser trailer
Now that I think about it, this game will be the second Zelda game in the franchise to have the longest development time. Ocarina of Time took quite awhile, I believe.

Re: Let's pretend Nintendo JUST showed the teaser trailer
Yeahhh...well I don't really believe what people say about the beginning of this game's development. Since 2005/6 is not right. They were making LCT, that was their surprise Wii Zelda game. During E3 2007 the media asked Eiji Aonuma about the next Wii Zelda, and he said he wasn't sure if they'd do it. And that he needed a break. He also said he had ideas for the new Zelda but nothing has started. So I think late 2007 to late 2010/early 2011 will be the length of the development. 3 or 4-ish years.

Re: Let's pretend Nintendo JUST showed the teaser trailer
Oh god, I've been imagining what the trailer is gonna be like. Here's another one of my ideas.
Let's pretend it's E3 2010. Miyamoto shows a title like Wii Yardwork or Wii Grocery Shopping. Everyone rolls their eyes and sighs, but wait, the background music and everything goes silent. What's going on? Suddenly, someone cuts through the title and a familiar looking guy in a green tunic walks through it. It's Link! He turns around, shrugs, and says: "Sorry I'm late." The Zelda theme starts to play, and it cuts to the trailer for Zelda Wii. Oh damn. |

All I have to say about that video: WHAT HAPPENED? That was the game I wanted. Definitely not what I got.
![]() I'm debating on whether or not to even watch anything to do with this new Zelda game. A part of me wants to know absolutely nothing about it until I pop it in. I want to be completely surprised.

Re: Let's pretend Nintendo JUST showed the teaser trailer
Yeah. I told myself at last years E3. I'm going to watch the first trailer, and then ban myself from all other Z-wii information. I spoiled too much of TP before even getting it. And I freakin' saw the ending to PH, which is just horrible. No more spoiling. I don't want to know everything about this game.

Actually, come to think of it, the sidekick would be the one to say that. Why do we need a sidekick anyways? Let the casuals figure it out on their own, dammit. Nintendo, don't tell us everything about the game. Please. And don't hype it up too much, though I'm sure they've learned not to do that. :3 |

Re: Let's pretend Nintendo JUST showed the teaser trailer
When I read threads like these I'm just happy Nintendo doesn't listen that much to their fans, really x)
What I would've liked to have seen is a teaser, something mysterious showing of something new. They got it right with MM, they got it sorta right with WW (A lot of missed opportunities but great concept), didn't get it right with TP because they didn't focus on the things that are important to a Zelda game. I want to see what they did with MM but on steroids. By that I don't mean the setting, game mechanics or vibe of it, which were all very refreshing, I mean I want it full of new ideas and means to do stuff. I mean let's be honest, there's been more innovation gameplay wise going from Assassins Creed to Assassins Creed 2 then there has been in Zelda for almost 15 years. Instead of building on innovations of previous games Nintendo just drops it and introduces something new or replaces it by something else with the next game. Like Epona being replaced by a boat or a train, it's new but doesnt make the game experience that much richer, infact the boat feature has proven itself to be quite boring from time to time. When I see that trailer I want to see some real improvements this time around, the new swordfight abilities was a good step in TP, but that's only a small part. I want to see some new ways to interact with the world, How about inroducing a little economic system? Help shops with bussines as sidequests and be rewarded with a little character customisation (as in new weapons/clothes) as the shops grow, maybe even be able to invest those useless rupees in them for some extra benefits. Have the towns do some bussines even, with little caravans traveling from town to town and have those Gerudo thieves do some real thieving. Simple stuff like that could add hours of gameplay and make the land of hyrule feel alive. Sounds crazy and probably would never happen, right? But have you guys ever played Fable 2 or Oblivion, both werent as fun as your average Zelda game but if Zelda only had a teeny tiny bit of what those gameworlds had to offer I guaranty you we would have ourselves this gen's OOT. Screw voice acting btw, that's one of the the last things on my list. IMO it's not that important, eventhough it's getting kinda akward it still hasnt been included yet. It's overated. Realistically speaking, we probably would've seen a trailer highlighting new control features and a character or three in temple like areas and a specific town. Asuming they are farther in development then they were when they released the first TP trailer. I wish Nintendo felt more threatened by companies like Ubisoft and Squarenix. But hell, they're freaking Nintendo, there's no need to.

Re: Let's pretend Nintendo JUST showed the teaser trailer
Nintendo has always been in its own little world. Well, big world now, but whatever.
You should be happy though Z-Wii is going to have a completely new gameplay system. That much I do know, saying how this game's engine is starting from scratch. Assassin's Creed needed a lot of help though, the ole' system was a bit too repetitive and cheap. *guy attacks* *counters* *guy attacks* *counters* That needed innovation...But Zelda's always had 20+ different types of enemies and 20+ items to mess them up with. Other then that, I kind of agree.

I wonder what their next move will be now the other consoles are going with motion control too. Quote:
Imagine if nintendo made a "Twilight Princess 2" in the same vein as Ubisoft is making AC2, get where I'm going at? I took AC as a quick example, but from what I have seen the new one will have quite a lot of new ways to get rid of enemies too which look just as fun as any way to get rid of enemies in zelda. For me it's not really about enemies or items and such, they have been great ever since the start of the Zelda series, it's the other areas that are starting to lack compared to other games recently. Back in the day OOT had the best most well realised fantasy world out there compared to it's competition. That can't really be said of Zelda games nowadays. But that probably isn't what is loved about Zelda games anyway, I guess it's just the overal charm that kept the series on top.

Re: Let's pretend Nintendo JUST showed the teaser trailer
I don't know much about ACII besides the fact that it's pretty, it's in Italy and you can use other people's weapons...Oh and you can swim thank god. xD TWW tried to have weapon steals...but it always turned out that the Master Sword was way better then a giant darknut sword or moblin spear. I was sad that they scrapped it in TP, I would've liked them to enhance that system.

My prediction for the game:
It will be everything I wanted. It will sell pretty well. It will also disappoint 99% of you in this forum.

Ew. How so. Will it suck butt?
I'm a little scared over the fact that the game may be a lot shorter than TP. But aside from that, I'm ready for whatever they throw at me. As long as it doesn't look or act like TP or TWW. D=

Re: Let's pretend Nintendo JUST showed the teaser trailer
it'll probobly look a little similar to TP, I mean The Zelda series over the yrs have been getting more realistic (graphics wise)
