Will the "Sword Mistress" be next Midna?

That's what I'm thinking. This girl will serve as Link's companion, like Midna and Navi (and other fairies), and will give you tips when needed. Sounds kind of lame if you ask me. I mean, Link talking to his sword, and getting advice from it? I don't know about that one.

Thoughts?

I think this one will be a much more quiet partner. If she's a sword, I don't think she'll talk in sword form. Looking at her picture, she doesn't look talkative or annoying at all. Which is good.

How can you tell by the picture? It's not like Navi had a mouth, but listen to her talk your ear off!

Back on subject I kinda figured that was the deal to begin with, because there hasn't been a recent Zelda game without one.

That's what I had in mind also. She will probably be a sidekick. A sidekick who won't mouth your ear off but take part in the storyline also.

Oohh, there can't be a next Midna, she is unique

It's better then talking to a boat.

She's probably going to serve the same role all partners have in the games. If she makes the game easy like Midna did, I'll be disappointed. I found Midna rather boring.

Yeah, she will probably be Link's companion. But it isn't weird since the idea of a talking sword has been used already in some games like Sonic and the Black Knight.

In TP, after defeating the baboon it floats into up and into Links hands and a fairy(Fairy of Winds or something like that) that resides within the boomerang talks to you, after that it is never heard from again.

I am guessing she will be. I love that how they are going probably going to go with the sword as the sidekick. It is going to be awesome.

Are you saying it's too early to think? We are just speculating at what we think from the info gathered from passed expirences with sidekicks. It issn't as if we were speculating at something never even hinted at by Nintendo.

She will certainly be Link's sidekick... It wouldn't make much sense for the sword to have an antropomorphic form, and being mute... And I really like most os Link's sidekicks (Navi's "Hey Listen"s were very annoying, and Midna did make things very easy, but I have nothing against the characters themselves)...

I'm pretty sure she can talk like all the other companions that Link has had on his previos adventures.

If she was to talk in sword form, that would be weird, and annoying.

I hope they pull this one off well.

I think, based on just a hunch I guess, that this mysterious girl will be an integral character in the story line first and foremost, with the possibility of her being Link's "sidekick" secondary to that. That's not to say that she can't be both (TP was named after Midna, and she played a huge role in the story).

While Midna was an interesting character, I agree that she allowed TP to become too easy if you let it. Throughout most of the game, if you just press her icon button, she'll have a hint for you that she wouldn't have said otherwise. But then, while Navi only gave you hints every now and then, she did give you tips on almost every single enemy (Tatl was the equivalent in MM). WW has been console Zelda game with the least amount of hint giving (a few from Tetra in the beginning, and some from King of Red Lions sprinkled throughout the game, too.

I think it would be interesting/challenging to see a Zelda game with no sidekick to give you hints whatsoever, leaving you to figure everything out by yourself, except when you get the chance to talk to people (but that's only outside of dungeons). I'm not sure how probable this situation is, though, because it seems that Nintendo likes doing the whole sidekick thing, and giving the sidekick some story as well.

If the girl is a sidekick, she at least needs to have an in-depth story line.

She will probably work the same way as Midna. Press the up button on the d-pad and the sword will turn into it's human form and talk to you.

It's already said, but I don't want the hints to be too easy. Like "Gee Link, that there boss looks pretty tough! If only you had some kind of device that lets you shoot arrow-shaped things at that jewel on his head." If there are hints, they should be really cryptic.
