How about a hot air balloon?

That's not too technologically advanced, is it?

Too later, we already have the seed shooter and the bazooka in TP. Then there is the fact that gunpowder is a big thing and they are likely to develop some form of musket

Re: Industrialization in Zelda

i think that a musket would be alright as long as link didnt get one
link with a gun just puts a bad taste in my mouth
i feel that hyrule needs to advance in some way since the timeline spans several hundred years at the least
but by no means should they advance the items or weapons in anyway(bow, hookshot, boomerang)

Where is the logic in nothing advancing at all? Plus what is wrong with Link getting a musket when he got the seed shooter in the Oracle games?

We've had bombs and cannons. A cannon is basically a big gun.

Re: Industrialization in Zelda

Like Meio said before, I'd prefer Hyrule advanced but with magic and stuff like that. I'm not saying no technological advances at all, I'm just saying that there should be more magic advances over technology. And about what Funkyd90 said, I've sometimes imagined link getting a ride on some sort of dragon like creature (instead of having to kill it), But thats just cuz I like dragons

Re: Industrialization in Zelda

I agree i think a hot Air Balloon would be a really cool way of traveling to a distant land, you could even have a blimp-like one that's a dungeon? and the Goron Mines in TP were very very industrialized. Im ok with industrialization in some areas, i just don't want to see it everywhere. In the CotS, it was cool, cause it was a distant civilzation, same with the mines, it was there, but not everywhere, so it didn't take away from the overall feel, something like guns I oppose. They are just less fun lets face it. maybe like once again, a special enemy or two, but 1. link shouldn't get a gun and 2. it shouldn't be widespread at all. I'm cool with isolated pockets of industrialization, but overall the game should stay medival in nature

Re: Industrialization in Zelda

I think the Zelda series should stay the same on both timelines (not the EXACT same, but no guns, cars, or futuristic stuff)

Well you wouldn't have to have cars and guns for the game to be futuristic. Remember that the Zelda Universe is very different from ours, so the way in which their technology develops would also be very different from ours.

well I s\gave my opinion on wheather Zelda should continue to get more advanced (Sail boats- Steam boats-Steamtrains-???Airplanes??)
If it continues like that then there will be space ships in no time.

oh, I never said you had to have cars. I was giving an example.

So you are proposing that the world of Hyrule advances everywhere but the more important parts?

Thats basically like the opposite of the Flintstones where instead of using stone for things like cars, you are suggesting that Zelda have grand old buildings and majestic ships yet still uses horse drawn carts and other anachronistic things.

There is no logic in certain things not advancing at all when there is nothing preventing them to or taking the focus away from them.

As for your "Link fighting Ganon with a musket", its obviously because you are thinking of it badly that it seems cheesy, even though Link does cheesy enough things to begin with like dancing with Gorons, turning into a pink rabbit and more

God I want to hit you.

Anyway, we've already seen a lot of industrialization as of late with the Gorons, so I think it's not unlikely that the rest of Hyrule will follow suit in the near future.

And a gun suits Link just fine. It could replace the bow.

Re: Industrialization in Zelda

As much as I like the idea of an industrialized Zelda, I really can't see Link with a gun... especially if it's a gun from our world. If he is to ever have some sort of gun, it would have to look and function much differently.

Maybe they should bring the the sword beam back, and have that work like a gun.

Why would it be a gun from our world?

were did i say huge buildings and majestic ships?
your thinking to drastic. hyrule shouldnt change that much
in no case would this be a major industrialization
im saying more things like mines, or small factories

besides nowhere does it say that zelda would advance the same way as our world

and the cheesy parts of zelda arent at important times in the plot such as the final battle. link fighting ganon with a musket just leaves me uneasy
