a dream house of sorts?

I was wondering if it would be a good idea for every Zelda from now on to have a dream house or something like it. Basically you would go in and pay the owner to put you in a magical sleep or something. It would let you replay certain 'episodes' of the game over. I'll use TP as an example:

episode 1: Forest Temple
which would have you start from the beginning and you would wake up from the dream by beating the boss of the temple and stepping through the portal (or by pausing and selecting the 'Wake up' option)

episode 2: Goron Mines
you would play through from where the first episode left off and it would end by beating Fyrus.

Episode 3: Lakebed Temple

episode 4: Arbiter's Grounds

Episode 5: Snowpeak Ruins

episode: 6 Temple of Time

episode 7: City in the Sky

Episode 8: Palace of Twilight

Episode 9: Hyrule Castle

you would have what ever you would normally have at that point in the game. You would have any heart pieces or other unneeded things.

thoughts?

If you really think about it, there can't be many games on the child timeline because the sole reason that the Hero of Time was sent back was so that none of that bad things the happened in the future would happen. Twilight Princess tied up all of the loose ends, left by the child ending.

Re: a dream house of sorts?

Come to think of it, I've always wanted to replay a temple without having to play through the game to get there, but, I don't see this happening.

I'm not trying to be a troll when I say this, this is sincere:

Maybe Link could use a narcotic of sorts to alter gameplay, revisit older areas, and make colors different and brighter, the way they look in the filmSpeed Racer, which, despite its large flaws as a film, has an amazingat style, to make it look like an anime.

Re: a dream house of sorts?

That's a very viable way to get to replay parts of the game. Unlike MM, this is more convenient and apparently easier.

This concept can be further developed:

After defeating the boss of X temple, the locale would be "purified." Unlike previous LoZ games, a beaten temple would cease to have overwhelming amount of re-spawning baddies and hazards, and it would be almost redesigned to be empty and explorable. If the player missed a piece of hear or item that would only be accessible during the pre-beaten temple, then the flashback or replay would allow you to recover such missed item. Meh, just a thought.

i think this would be a cool idea. because like someone said, ive wanted to play a certain dungeon, see a certain cutscreen, or just beat a certain boss, with out going through the whole game again. so this would be a perfect idea. send this idea to nintendo=pp

It would be different. The game would lose the free-roaming feeling. Would feel like an EA game...

I'm not saying that the game has to be played in that specific order, but every Zelda game (even the first one) had a recommended order to play each dungeon.

Re: a dream house of sorts?

I like that idea. Starting the entire game over to play a dungeon gets really annoying! And I also like the idea of the temples being cleared of all the evil things in it once you beat it. It would be cool to see the temples as... temples. Once you beat the Zora temple, you could find Zora walking around inside, maybe playing music or something. Temples could also be fashioned more after a place people would worship rather than a giant dungeon built to kill anyone who enters. I'm sure they could disguise the puzzles more and still make them great, maybe...

Oh! I know! There could be items, such as heart pieces or the new equivalent to gold skultulas, that are available when the temple is still cursed, but disappear when you clear it and it returns to normal. When you visit this weird spirit shop that lets you replay the level, you have a chance to go and find the things you missed! Eh?

Re: a dream house of sorts?

This is actually a very good idea. It would've been cool to be able to replay the horseriding sections from Twilight Princess again.

Re: a dream house of sorts?

That is a pretty cool idea. I'd love to go through a dungeon that I've already beaten without having to start a new game.
Plus the idea that beaten temples would have NPCs running around in them is also cool; all the more reason to replay it and see the temple as the creepy ruin that it once was.

I like those ideas, but I never really thought about why the temple are always empty

Re: a dream house of sorts?

I wouldn't mind replaying a level. Especially if there's a new twist on things. But not in a dream house.
