====LEGEND OF ZELDA: ORACLE OF SECRETS====
This would be for the GameBoy Advance, I guess. It would kind of run off the Minish Cap engine, but look more like the art for the Oracles games.
Where Ages was about puzzles and Seasons was about action, Secrets would be about doing "courageous" things like exploring high mountains and occassionally taking risks with Link's health, with secondary emphasis on stealth gameplay. Of course, there would be action and puzzles; the action parts of the game would be divided between infiltrating large numbers of enemies and getting out of those situations, surviving by a hair. The puzzles would be partly based on stealth, too.
SETTING==================
Dungufar: Dungufar (pronounced Dun-ja-far) is a mostly desert region. It is divided into two main regions, two peninsulas facing north with a sea in between, although mountains and forest in the south connect the regions. The main city, Dungufar City, is a fairly advanced city compared to Horon Vilage and Lynna City, with high walls and defenses and many people. It has a shady underside, known as the City of Rejects, which is a nickname for the criminals, thieves, and rogues who inhabit the city, or the underground parts of the city. The deserts are all around Dungufar City. There are high mountains in the southwest, which are tests for courageous people, and are home to the Gorons. The similarly advanced Poh culture lives across the sea in the west on the other desert peninsula. They are a race of spirit summoners who inhabit their desert city of Zheng.
-To keep with the theme that Labrynna and Holodrum are possibly parts of
AoL's expanded map of Hyrule, I molded Dungufar to be the northmost part of
AoL's map. Dungufar City stands near Parapa Palace (and a certain Palace in the city is said to be that very same Palace), while the Poh capital of Zheng sits near the Desert Cave. You will eventually visit the canyon where Ruto town is right now and find the Roc's Feather (a nod to finding the Jump Spell there in
AoL), and you will enter a Magma Grotto and the Seed Satchel (with Ember Seeds, which references the Candle in
AoL). People also make reference to the fact that the desert might eventually swallow their cities, and that some people are making new settlements in the South (Rauru Town) as a place for people to go when that time comes.
Grand Library: The Grand Library is an ancient structure, built a long time ago. The library used to be open to anyone, but the Sages of the city closed the structure to normal people, thanks to the machinations of a certain member of their council. The secret lower levels have books that relate to the lore of the world, the location of it's holy artifacts, as well as spells that would be useful to Link.
Link
-Link is sent to Dungufar by the Triforce.
Farore
-Farore is the Oracle of Secrets. She is usually found inside the Maku Tree, although she is unavailable for the first part of the game. Once she is rescued, she will play a greater role in the game, accompanying Link for a dungeon, and she is never captured again since she is very good at evading the enemies. She plays her previous role in the other games with passwords, but also plays the role of the emphasized Oracle in this game.
Maku Tree
-The Maku Tree is a grandma tree. Her children are the Maku Trees of Holodrum and Labrynna. She has three grandchildren, birthed by Labrynna's Maku Tree, who are scattered around Dungufar. She lives in Dungufar City, and people respect her power. She protects Farore and gets information from her granchildren on the wind. Lately, the wind has become muddled with lies, and she requires an Essence of Secrets, AKA the Artifacts of Truth, in order to figure out what is going on in the world. Eventually, the Palace is sealed with a powerful dark barrier, and the Maku Tree creates an orange and purple, Huge Maku Seed to destroy the barrier.
Eastern Maku Tree
-The Southern Maku Tree lives with the Gorons. He is a strange Maku Tree who has grown almost Goron characteristics, such as a love of rocks. The Gorons protect him from Dungufar troops.
Southern Maku Tree
-The Southern Maku Tree lives in the far south, between the Goron's mountains and the Pillar Canyon. She's a slightly greedy tree who gives Link financial advise.
Western Maku Tree
-The Western Maku tree lives in a small port town in the Poh Kingdom, and she has taken up characteristics of the Poh, such as counsel from spirits. She is friends with the Poh King's Advisor, and she is the one who allows Link to enter Zheng.
Tamra
-Tamra is a politician in Dungufar, and is hoping to sieze control of the city. She is currently on the Council of Sages, and hopes to become the High Sage. She is attempting to rally the city around defeating the Poh on the other side of the desert. However, her true goal is to make it so that she can dig up the 8 artifacts of truth so that she can make it so that she can lie to anyone without being found out and see everything that is invisible and secret. To meet these ends, she decides to capture Farore, the Oracle of Secrets. However, Farore is too clever and eludes her capture after the 2nd dungeon, with the help of Link. Tamra is sort of the final boss of the game, and eventually coaxes the city to make war on the Poh. She then sits in the Chamber of Sages expecting Link and Farore to come so she can kill them herself (or with the help of a large platoon of soldiers) and take the artifacts.
King of Poh
-The King of Poh lives lavishly in his city of Zheng. He is said to be a decent King, but he hasn't done enough to fight the threat of Tamra in Dungufar.
King's Advisor
-The Advisor is a good guy and readily helps Link as soon as he learns of Link's deeds in a previous temple. He recognizes the threat. Although he's a smart man, the King's Advisor acknowledges that he sometimes plays the role of middle man for the advise from the Western Maku Tree. But he only tells this to Link.
Twinrova
-Twinrova came and attempted to deal with Tamra, but where rebuffed, and Tamra is actually trying to defeat them. After Tamra is defeated at the end of the game, they state that they wished to light the Flame of Sorrow with Tamra's death, but it didn't work; so, instead, they decide to use the "Princess of Hyrule." Towards the end of the game, she and her followers have a small battle with Twinrova, who are hinted to have sealed the Palace to "teach Tamra a lesson."
Zelda
-If this game is linked with either Ages or Seasons, then Zelda will come after the fourth dungeon on a peace mission. Instead, Tamra plans an assassination, but Zelda is saved by Link, and hides in the Maku Tree for the rest of the game. Zelda distracts Tamra in her prison, and Twinrova mark Tamra with the Flame of Sorrow's seal, thus lighting it. So, an attempt is made to sacrifice Zelda to the other flame.
Impa
-At the beginning of the game, Farore is sitting in the Grand Library, and Link goes to the Library to learn of his quest. When Farore is arrested, the old Librarian reveals herself as Impa, who had been planted in the city to meet with Link to tell him how to save Farore.
BOOK OF SECRETS
-Farore gives Link her Book of Secrets, and Link can see his passwords on the fly. When he goes to Farore to retrieve an item from a linked game, she will ask for her book back. The Book of Secrets contains three blank pages, which detail possible spells.
-Spell of Shrouds: Allows the user to be completely invisible in the shade or in shadows. Link can use his items while in shrouds.
-Spell of Truth: This allows the user to see everything that's been hidden, and see through people's lies.
-Spell of Secrets: This allows only a user (Link, Farore, or Zelda) who has committed no crimes to hide in plain sight. Link cannot use his weapons while using this, though.
DUNGEONS==================
Magma Grotto: Bond of Friendship
-A magma filled grotto in the southern mountains. Farore is captured and placed here by unknown assailants. The Magma grotto leads to forests in south Dungufar, and one can travel through them to reach the Poh's peninsula.
-
Story: When Link arrives in Dungufar City by way of the Triforce, he sneaks into the Grand Library and meets with Impa. Impa takes him to the Maku Tree, who tells Link the location of Farore. Getting to Farore will require the help of the Gorons and the Maku Tree who lives there with them. The Gorons themselves take a more active role than the ones in Labrynna and Holodrum. They do not appreciate the Sage Council ignoring them. Link grabs a sword and shield assists the Gorons in repelling an attack on the Maku Tree.
-
Dungeon: The Gorons give Link a pair of Magma Boots in order to survive in the Magma Grotto. However, Link still takes damage if he is in the lava.
-The Grotto has mini-fairy fountains that heal his health all over it, along with magma. Link must traverse the magma quickly from each mini-fairy fountain to another mini-fairy fountain to heal his health again.
-Item: Link eventually finds the Seed Satchel inside the dungeon, but finds the Ember Seeds to be quite ineffective against enemies, but useful for lighting torches.
-
Boss: 2 Lanmolas - The Lanmolas are similar to the ones in Link to the Past, diving in and out of the ground. Link just needs his sword to defeat them. There is a ring of lava lining the arena. When the Lanmolas jump out of the ground, they create a hole filled with lava, which eventually fills up.
Snake's Belly: Love of Country
-A petrified, dead snake peeks it's head above ground in an oasis in the Lost Dunes. It is here that Link rescues a Sage on the Council of Sages who was imprisoned here, with the help of Dungufar citizens.
-
Story: When Link arrives in Dungufar City, the Maku tree tells Link that he requires a key in order to open the path to the dungeon. He must use Book of Secrets for the first time, and use the Spell of Shrouds to creep around Dungufar City to find information on the dungeon. Eventually he finds that someone on the Council of Sages is involved in locking up the Sage in the Snake's Belly. Link finds the key from one of the kidnappers involved. He then heads off to the Lost Dunes and runs into a Kangaroo named Ricky, who helps him cross the desert by hopping over sand pits and punching enemies with his boxing gloves.
-
Dungeon: The dungeon is basically a tower going further and further down. There are many, many undead enemies who popular the Snake's Belly, to sort of suggest that the Snake ate them. The dungeon is fairly linear, and more focused on avoiding all the enemies in the dungeon, with Link moving from room to room. Torches dimly light the dungeon, and Link must balance lighting them with the Ember Seeds and keeping enough shadows to hide in.
-Item: The Crossbow is found fairly early in the dungeon, and Link must use it to defeat his enemies while staying in the shadows.
-
Boss: Snake's Children - There are 5 of them, and they slither about the arena, and are attracted to light. They spit poison at Link, and try to trap him by slithering around them. Link must light torches with Ember Seeds, and slash at their vulnerable heads. His Crossbow is good for repelling the Snakes, but they do not hurt them. After killing the Snake, Link finds out from the Sage that Tamra locked him up in the well after he would not open the seal to the Artifact of Truth.
Black Well: Protection of Innocence
-A Well in Dungufar City, long thought to be a source of strange spirits. In reality, the well is the place where an evil being was once sealed. Farore actually assists Link here, as a "secondary character" and uses the Book of Secrets herself.
-
Story: After Link saves the Sage, he returns to Dungufar City. The Maku Tree tells him that strange spirits are emanating from a Well. In order to get to the Well, Link must get the permission of the Sage's Council. Since he can't do that now, he has to sneak into the well via the City of Rejects. After playing some gambling min-games, he frees a young Dodongo named Dimitri from a monster-fighting arena. Dimitri and Link head through the more flooded parts of the City of Rejects together and find the entrance to the Well.
-
Dungeon: The dungeon is a several
Story dungeon. It is simply a water dungeon, and not some scary well like the one in Ocarina of Time. Link will dip into the water to cross here and there. There are two entrances to the dungeon; the City of Rejects entrance that leads Link to the middle, and the Main entrance up top. The main entrance up top will give Link access to new areas, including the Grand Library. Link will have to jump down many holes and stuff in order to get where he wants to go. Enemy soldiers are scouring the well.
-Item: Link gets the Pegasus Boots in the Grand Library, which he will have to use immediately in order to escape from enemy soldiers. The Pegasus Boots are used to slam into switches in the well that open up water gates. They can also be used to run on water.
-
Boss: Kholdstare - Kholdstare begins as a pink, puffy eye that has been solidified inside some ice inside the Well. Link must thaw him out with an Ember Seed. One that occurs, the ice floods the area with water. Kholdstare will fly around the area, shooting cold balls of wind at Link which will eventually hit the ground, creating obstacles all over the area. These ice blocks can be broken by ramming them with a Pegasus Boot dash or with an Ember Seed. In order to defeat Kholdstare, Link must slash at his eye as he flies around. Kholdstare will also fire ice balls at Link, which are completely solid, that he can deflect with his sword. Once Kholdstare takes enough hits, he is defeated.
-Link actually enters another dungeon for a short time while completing the Well. Where exactly did he go?
Pillar Canyon: Restraint of Power
-In the mountains in the far Southwest, a singular, secluded Canyon covered in strange pillars exists, where an ancient evil sleeps.
-
Story: Link finds out that the Council of Sages is ordering troops to march to the Poh Kingdom in Zheng. The Maku Tree tells Link that she has heard from her grandchild in the far south about the Dungufar Troops. Farore decides that Link has to go to Poh and warn the King. She tells Link that he'll need a way to tell if people are telling the truth, so first he must go to the Grand Library and find a translator for a page of the Book of Secrets. Farore and Link sneak into the Library, and find it, and Link gains the Spell of Truth. Link also finds other secrets in the Grand Library, such as the location of the White Sword, a how-to guide on Iron Shields, and books on other upgrades. Link sets off to the Pillar Canyon and first meets with the Southern Maku Tree. The Pillar Canyon is treacherous and has many gaps and such, which is why Link enlists the aid of a flying bear named Moosh. Moosh had been captured and teased by the soldiers in the Canyon. In the Pillar Canyon, Dungufarian troops are marching and camped. Link goes in and must interrogate soldiers with the new spell and he finds out exactly what is going on, and where the soldiers are marching.
-
Dungeon: Link enters the Pillar Canyon, which is swarming with enemy soldiers. They are attempting to find the Artifact of Truth. Link must use the Spell of Shrouds to hide in the shade of the pillars, disable enemies with the Secret Seeds, interrogate them to find keys and item, use the Pegasus Boots to run across rickety bridges, cross magma in the small caves, and blow up pillars and walls with the Bombs. Eventually, he will have to take death-defying leaps with the new Roc Feather.
-Item: The Roc's Feather is located on a large pillar on another side of the canyon.
-
Boss: Helmasaur King - The Helmasaur King sits in wait in a cave in the Pillar Canyon. He's wearing a helmet, of course, but this helmet is a little strange; it has a "ramp" down the middle. Link can actually hop up on top of his helmet using the Roc's Feather. Once on top, Link has to do battle with Helmasaur King's tail. The tail shoots fireballs at Link, which he must deflect with his sword, and then he has to slash at the tail's tip. After each slash, Helmasaur King will shake Link off and attempt to ram him. He will also shake Link off if he takes too long. Link can pacify Helmasaur King a bit by shooting his eyes with the crossbow, keeping him from shaking Link off. If Helmasaur King tries to ram Link and misses, then he will damage his helmet. Helmasaur King will occasionally suck in lots of air, and then blow fire, requiring a quick Pegasus dash. Once the helmet is destroyed, it's simply a matter of slashing at his face and dodging tail fireballs and fire breath until he dies.
Light Temple: Sealing of Evil
-In the Light Temple of the Poh Kingdom, light floods the entire temple. In the middle of the temple is the Prism. The Prism shines 7 different colors to each part of the Temple. Ancient Poh Summoning Stones can be used to gain the knowledge of helpful spirits, by taking the correct stone to the correct spectrum of light.
-
Story: After the battle in the Pillar Canyon, Link must survive in the deserts of the Poh Kingdom. Link will need to run from oasis to oasis, keeping himself cooled. His Lava Boots serve him well, keeping him from taking damage from the hot sands. Link eventually gets to the Light Temple of the Poh Kingdom, and a nearby Port Town, which he can use to go back to Dungufar. At the Port Town, the Western Maku Tree tells Link a bit about the Poh Kingdom, and tells him about the Light Temple. The locals tell him that the Light Temple has an Artifact of Truth, so Link decides to go and get it.
-
Dungeon: The Light Temple is based around the light spectrum. Link cannot use the Spell of Shrouds here, and must is forced to fight his enemies. The temple is divided into 9 parts; the entrance, the Prism room, and the other 7 parts contain a different color of the rainbow. Link must bring different colored summoning stones to the correct colored area of the temple, and ask the Spirits bound to the stones about the Temple. He will also gain knowledge on Poh customs. A couple of Poh spirits are a bit mischievous, and Link will find a puzzle similar to the one in Phantom Hourglass where he needs to uncover the liar. Some stones are a little heavy for Link, and a couple just can't be moved.
-Item: The Power Bracelets are found in the Temple. They are located above the main, Prism room. The Power Bracelets will allow Link to grab heavy stones and bring them to the right room...and they will also allow Link to rotate the Prism and change the colors of the entire dungeon!
-
Boss: Spectrum Knight - The Boss room is located underneath the Prism room. Spectrum is a large Armos Knight armed with a mirror shield. Spectrum sits in the middle of the room, reflecting the Prism's light in a high intensity beam, rotating slowly. Link must constantly move either in clockwise or counter-clockwise motion to avoid the beam, and he can't get too close or Spectrum will slash him with his sword. The light beam changes to one of the 7 colors depending on which direction he is facing. To defeat Spectrum, Link needs to grab one of the 7, large Summoning Stones around the area and throw the stone into the beam when it changes to the correct color. Then, the spirit will come out (kind of like a genie) and attack Spectrum with an attack, which will cause the stone to turn white. After using all 7 of the stones, Spectrum Knight will fall on his ass, and the light in the room will turn white and make activate all 7 of the stones, making the spirits smash Spectrum Knight.
Demon Tower: Confrontation of Injustice
-In the Demon Tower of the Poh Kingdom is where demons congregate. The Demons have been leaving the temple, and need to be put in their place.
-
Story: Link heads to Zheng, and sees the bustling Poh Kingdom in action. The Poh people are fairly peaceful. The people do not want it to come, and the King isn't doing much to stop it from coming. Using the knowledge of the spirits in the Light Temple, Link finds out how to make it in Zheng City. Using this, he sneaks into the palace in order to tell the King to act. Link proves to the King's Advisor that he's friends with the Western Maku Tree, and the Advisor tells him about an Artifact of Truth located in the Demon Tower to the north.
-
Dungeon: The demons here are more mischievous than evil. They're kind of like little goats that run around laughing and throwing things at you. Link must run around the Temple sealing Demons by slashing at them. The Demons shift the Temple, kind of like the Forest Temple. They do not stay sealed for long, so when the seal on a demon wears off while Link is in the shifted room, when he comes back, he'll find the room to have changed. In order to seal the demons well enough, he'll need something that's more heavy duty.
-Item: The Hammer! Using the hammer, Link can slam this holy hammer and bind demons to the ground infinitely. To release them, he can pick them up with the Power Bracelets.
-
Boss: Great Roc - The Boss of the Temple confronts Link at the top of the tower in a 2-D battle like against Evil Eagle in Link's Awakening, where Link has a chance of falling off. The Great Roc flies around the top of the tower, shooting lightning at Link. The battle is sort of a 2-D rendition of Helmaroc King in Wind Waker. Great Roc will swoop in, and Link must first jump on top of his back, and then jump off it as he comes by. He will occasionally stand on top of the tower and peck at Link and taunt him, during which Link should smash his beak with his hammer. Eventually, Link will flatten his beak entirely into a platform, and now he must jump onto Great Roc's beak and slash the rest of his face. Great Roc will try to shake Link off when he tries this, so Link will have to be careful. After a few slashes to the face, though, Great Roc will fall off the tower and die.
Shadow Palace: Trust of Family
-The opposite of the Light Temple in the Poh Kingdom, shadows flood the entire temple.
-
Story: Link returns to Zheng City triumphant, having sealed up the Demons of the Demon Tower. The advisor of the King congratulates him, but tells Link that the King is slightly cowardly and has gone into hiding. The next Artifact of Truth in the region is in the Shadow Palace, but only Royalty knows where the Shadow Palace is. The King has left one clue: "He is in the palace that is always open." The advisor gives Link a translator for the Book of Secrets. Link goes back to Dungufar to ask Farore what to do, and finds the city under martial law. Farore translates the last page, which allows Link to go wherever he feels like, without fear of running into enemies (as long as he doesn't hurt his enemies). Link heads back to Zheng and finds the King dressed as a commoner in the middle of the city. The King tells Link that he is scared, but will go back and lead his people and help Link by telling him where the Shadow Palace is. The Shadow Palace is in a cave north of Zheng, sunk into the sands.
-
Dungeon: The dungeon is very dark, and is entirely in shadows. The Spell of Shrouds is useless because the enemies can see Link. The dungeon focuses on multiple switches and opening doors by holding switches down.
-
Item: The Cane of Somaria is found after Link opens up a gate for a second, and runs down a bridge with 2 switches, hitting them in succession by running on them with his Pegasus Boots. Link then has to reopen the gate by using the Cane of Somaria to create a statue of himself and hold down the next switch. The Cane is pretty awesome sauce and enemies in the dark can't really see and will attack the statue instead of Link.
-
Boss: Shadow Hound - The Shadow Hound is a large, demonic dog with a skull on his face. Think Houndoom from Pokemon. He struts around in the room, swiping at things with his paws, biting at Link, or just plain running. He's a simplistic, but difficult boss. To defeat Shadow Hound, Link must confuse Shadow Hound by creating a statue of himself, and then run to his body around his skeleton head and slash it.
Great Temple: Openness of Society
-Farore helps Link find an ancient temple in the heart of Dungufar City, connected to the Grand Library.
-
Story: Link decides to help the Zheng Kingdom defend against Dungufar troops who are crossing the desert. Link summons his mount to help him. If he's riding around in Ricky's pouch, then several sand pits will appear in the ground. If he's riding on top of Dimitri, then it will rain on the battlefield and make many large mud pits that can be swam across. If he's riding on top of Moosh, many large gaps and crevices will appear in the sands. Link must fight Dungufar troops with his crossbow and get back to the the Port Town. However, the Port Town is being blockaded by ships, so Link makes sure the Maku Tree is okay and leaves for the Pillar Canyon. Link then makes sure the Southern Maku Tree is okay, and finds the Gorons and their Maku Tree. Link rushes back to Dungufar, and Farore reminds him that he has already entered the 8th dungeon of the game. Back during the Well fiasco, Link stumbled into the Great Temple for only a short while. Link could go the Grand Library via the well or the City of Rejects, but he instead sneaks past the heavily guarded Library in clear view. He then finds his way into the Great Temple, which even Tamra is unaware of.
-
Dungeon: The Great Temple simply pushes Link to his limit. It is crawling with ancient monsters. Link will have to walk across large chasms of magma, run across bridges that are about to be destroyed, leap into pits, smash the heads of enemies with his hammer, fool enemies with his Cane of Somaria, among other things.
Item: Link finds the Megaton Hammer, a hidden treasure of the Great Temple. The Megaton Hammer allows Link to flip things up and around (kind of like the Cane in Minish Cap) in a radius.
-
Boss: Dark Link - When Link comes to the boss room of the Great Temple, he will find Dark Link, of all people. Dark Link, however, is wearing a mask on his face, similar to the Mask of Truth. He has the same attacks as Link, with a sword and shield.
Palace of the Sages
-The final area of the game. Tamra is now the High Sage, and sits in the Council Chamber alone, having sent the other Sages to the dungeons. She waits for Link and Farore to come and get her.
-
Story: Link heads to the Palace of the Sages ready to beat the hell out of Tamra...but then he finds a dark barrier on it. So, he goes back to the Maku Tree and gains the Huge Maku Seed. But as soon as he breaks the barrier, a commotion is caused and people begin to block the entrance. So, Link heads BACK to the Maku Tree, who causes a minor earthquake to make people mind their business. Accompanied by Farore, he simply charges into the Palace with his new Megaton Hammer, dispatching many of the troops before they can do anything. Tamra sits in the Council room, awaiting Link and Farore. She hopes to kill Link and take the Book of Secrets and become invincible. Farore carries the Book of Secrets with her, and assists Link as he mows down his enemies by shooting wind balls at them while being invisible. Eventually, the troops become too much for Link, and they steal all of his items. Farore decides to give Link the Book of Secrets back and help him get his items back.
-
Dungeon: The dungeon forces you to use the powers of the Book of Secrets. At first, simply using the Spell of Secrets to waltz past enemy troops. But eventually Link will need to hurt his enemies and use his items to solve puzzles and such, so he will have to use the Spell of Shrouds. Though the Council Chamber is in front of the entrance, the Master of the Guard and his Elite troops will chase Link away, so he will spend much of the Temple evading them. The first item he gets back is his Crossbow. Then the Shield. Then the Roc's Feather. Then the Pegasus Boots. Then the Seed Satchel. Then his Bombs. Then he gets his Cane of Somaria. Then the Power Bracelets. Then the Megaton Hammer. Finally, Link gets his Sword back. The Palace is a makeshift dungeon, so Link will be able to see living quarters, courtrooms, kitchens, etc. hijacked by enemy soldiers. Eventually, Link is properly equipped again and fights the Master of the Guard in the front room and defeat him, unlocking the way to the Council Chamber. Link can then walk in any time he wants for the final battle.
-
Boss: Tamra sits in the Council Chamber. When Link and Farore enter the Council Chamber, they find Twinrova fighting off Tamra's troops. They then tell Tamra that "she's been a thorn in their sides" for a while, and that they hoped to trap her in the palace. However, they did not know that Tamra had so many troops swarming in the Palace. When Twinrova sees Link, they cackle and state that Link will do her in. Tamra laughs and summons more troops as Twinrova leaves. The place is dimly lit, so Link can run around in the shadows, using his weapons. The entire battle has Link fighting wave after wave of enemy soldier, as he chases Tamra all around the Palace. Link fights increasingly harder enemies, and an all out war occurs. Think of it like that one Rambo movie. Link has to run around creating booby traps and ambushing and dispatching enemy soldiers, as they pour into the Palace. Link corners Tamra in the deepest level of the Palace, and then kills her in one single slash.
ITEMS==================
The items were chosen by me to complement the items found in Ages and Seasons.
Boomerang
-Link finds the Boomerang fairly early.
Bombs
-Link can buy the Bombs any time.
Lava Boots
-Link can find the Lava Boots before the next dungeon, which allows him to walk on the lava. This is one of those obtain and you always have then equipped deals.
Level 1: Seed Satchel
-The regular Seed Satchel. Like always, there are Ember seeds, Gale, Mystery, Pegasus, and Scent seeds.
-Their use is somewhat limited in this game, though they are still useful. Just not as useful as in Ages or Seasons.
Level 2: Crossbow
-The Bow makes sort of a return from the old Zeldas, and allow Link to pretend to be James Bond. Sort of.
-The Crossbow shoots very fast arrow bolts. They are fairly strong, and limited by ammo.
-The Crossbow can be combined with the Bombs to create a Bomb Arrow launching weapon, basically the equivalent of a Rocket Propelled Grenade Launcher for Link. One must be very careful with this, though, because Bombs and Arrow are used up when this combination if used.
Level 3: Pegasus Boots (Boots L-2)
-More old items! Yay! The Pegasus Boots are good for running out of hairy situations...or running straight into them like Rambo. They're also good for running up walls and smashing your head into stuff. Link can also run on water with them.
-You might be wondering what the Pegasus Seeds and the Pegasus Boots are doing. Well, the Pegasus Boots make Link run 3x as fast very quickly in a short burst. The Seeds make Link run 2x as fast over a short period of time. Link will sometimes be required to combine their effects.
Level 4: Roc's Feather
-Roc's Feather, of course.
-Downing a Pegasus Seed before use of the Roc's Feather allows Link to jump farther.
-Using the Pegasus Boots in conjunction with Roc's Feather allows Link to jump across very far distances, but only when there is a ramp. These ramps are basically warps, and don't serve too much gameplay purposes.
Level 5: Power Bracelets
-Let's you pick up stuff, blah blah.
Level 6: Hammer
-BAM! BAM! HAMMAH TIEM.
-The Hammer has holy properties, so they can make quick work of the undead and spirits.
Level 7: Cane of Somaria
-Unlike the old Cane of Somaria, this makes statues of the user, Link. This can be used to fool enemies into thinking the statue is you, in addition to it's use as a weight.
-Link can only make one at a time.
Level 8: Megaton Hammer (Hammer L-2)
-The only level upgrade for any item in the game. The Megaton Hammer is a beefier hammer, obviously.
