I'd like credit where it is due for my OoT Beta Quest section.

Hey there,

I used to be a very active member here and a moderator, way back in the day, and I contributed all of the media and information for the OoT Beta Quest section on this site.

I see that my credit has been removed from the section, and I'd like it to be put back, as I did work very hard to provide all of those screenshots and descriptions exclusively to ZU.

Also, all of the links to the pictures are now dead since the article was... revamped. That's more of a piece of feedback, but the real issue at hand is the fact that my hard work is now credited to "Jason".

Thanks in advance. No hard feelings, right? I'll probably start posting here again so I'm not too bent out of shape, I just want credit where it's due. Thanks.

I know who Jason is, by the way, I read about what happened with Lars, I just put his name in quotes because I was quoting the credit on the article.

I don't mean to be rude, but I would like to see proof that you got those screenshots and descriptions yourself.
Also, I don't believe you about the moderator thing.

Alright, friend, here's your proof.

The Beta Quest page as it was in 2004, courtesy of the Wayback Machine on Archive.org. As you can see, I used to be credited (Droshi). I changed my name when I started posting here again to my real name, but the following links will prove that I was Droshi up until today.

Proof of me creating the Beta Quest information: Check.

A moderator April Fools' prank where every mod pretended to leave the forums on the same day for different reasons. It was a staff-only thread during the planning period, then we made it public after telling everyone we fooled them. In this thread you can clearly see me voting for what we should do in the preliminary stages, before it was public.

Proof of me being a mod: Check.

The original ZU Community Thread, WHICH I STARTED. As a mod.

More proof of me being a mod: Check.

If you still don't believe me, my post history is public to everyone, so check it out for tons of posts with proof of me locking topics, merging them, warning people, and everything else a mod does.

There is also proof that I am indeed Droshi, if you don't believe me about that. I'm referenced to as Droshi in the links I provided.

Now that I have proven who I am, let's start back from square one.

You would really have to have real balls to imitate a former mod. That's why that credibility is not in check. (By the way, hey Drosh!)

Neither is the fact that you don't deserve the credit for the page as you did seem to have done all the work.

I can't speak for Jason about the page in question, but hopefully he remedies it soon. It might have been one of those pages that is trying to be fixed due to the revamp.

Thanks man. I may have come off as angry with my OP, but it really wasn't meant to seem that way. I was just getting straight to the point.

Now, basically being called a liar by someone who never knew me here, when the proof was readily accessible... that's a different story.

Good to see you James!

What I think happened is that your name got lost along the way while we were redoing the site for wordpress. All the articles and everything got taken to the new site, but for some of them we forgot to change the author from "Jason", who created the page itself in wordpress and thus was automatically listed as the author. It can be easily fixed.

Thing is, my name wasn't ever in the title/header of the article (where it says "posted by: Jason"). It was written into the article, in the first paragraph.

The actual article was changed and reworded, and the pictures were set up differently (so clicking on them gives a description, instead of having the pictures and descriptions all on the same page). The sentence that gave me credit was actually removed from the paragraph when it was reworded.

When I copied the page over to the news site, your name wasn't there - but I'd be happy to add it, and I'll call that my mistake. No hard feelings, kay?

By the way, it's not SUPPOSED to be credited to me... it's supposed to be credited to *nobody*, but Scotty never got around to removing the author bit from posts in the Legend of Zelda pages. Therefore, it looks like I wrote most every single one of them inadvertently, even though my name being there really has no meaning.

I didn't call you a liar, I just said I didn't believe you.
Believe it or not, there is a difference.

Hmm...
Mmkay... Cool.
By the way, no need to prove your Droshi, I just rolled over your name.
I don't get how you could be a mod with less than five-hundred posts, though... I don't get it.

ZU used to exist in a magical land where mods were chosen because they were mature, intelligent people.

He joined in Dec 2002. Nobody would have had thousands of posts at that point. Also, back then, posting standards were held much higher, as in, hardly any off topic or remotely spammy posts would be left around--on top of penalties being higher.
