Maybe not as funny as pro wrestling, but a lot more realistic.

Re: Voting For Oneself in Forum Awards

I don't think we have to wait until next time in order to fulfill my request, Rew. It's simple enough.

Re: Voting For Oneself in Forum Awards

Really it just sounds like you are whining Lantean. As Ender just said, shut up take the award forget about it. No need to make it such a big deal. >>

I'm totally nominating you for drama llama next time after this thread.

Re: Voting For Oneself in Forum Awards

I have to agree with Mafoofoo, somewhat. You're taking this so seriously - no one's going to judge you on an award you won on the internet for the rest of your life. Personally, I don't think that you should be un-nominated from this award, unless you give up the right to participate in these awards altogether.

Re: Voting For Oneself in Forum Awards

If someone requests to be removed from an award, why the hell shouldn't they have their wish granted? Lantean wants to be out of the running, make it so. If he doesn't want any of the other awards as well, then so be it. Asia requested to be removed from the "Hottest Female" award, and her request was granted. Why can't other reasonable requests be granted?

As for negative awards, they aren't.
Negative awards.
Negative awards.
Negative AWARDS

Also, since when the hell is Biggest Ego negative? People used to compete for that one.

Re: Voting For Oneself in Forum Awards

Boo hoo the world goes on. Getting a negative award usually is telling you to drop an old habit. For example, I won Biggest A-hole award for simply acting like a fool and I cleaned up my act. Besides, it is the internet after all.

If it sounds to you like he is merely whining, I suggest you get your hearing-aid fixed.

That is not the point. The point is not WHAT the award is, but WHY it is being given, and as has been said countless times, it is being given to Lantean in order to insult him because of things that have gone on earlier.

Thank you for displaying common sense in this, an area where it seems to be scarce for many ZUers.

As I said above, it is not what the award is but why it is given that makes it negative in this instance.

Evidently not. If you HAD you would have learned that everything you just said, with the possible exception of "the world goes on" was grossly inaccurate.

Re: Voting For Oneself in Forum Awards

I too agree with Jodd. If someone wants to be out, let him/her be out. If you let Asai skip the hottest female, let Blizz skip Drama Llama.

Still, it's hillarious that he managed to cause all this by voting himself to get disqualified etc... I had to vote him solely for that reason

I love it when you have to argue for your friend. It shows a sign of weakness in the both of you.

I read the whole thread and it seems to me that the only reason Lanteen wants to drop out is because he feels he doesn't have a big ego. So? You don't hear Ranil or sugarpoultry complaining that they are getting negative awards so what makes your friend so special? May it be that his ego is smaller than yours?

The 'Biggest Ego' award isn't supposed to be an insult. Lantean being nominated just shows that people see him as having an ego, which isn't even anything to be terribly ashamed of. Like Nox said, if Lantean sees being nominated as something negative, it could be a sign of him to perhaps tone down the ego if he doesn't want to be nominated come next awards.

But the reasons for Asia and Lantean not wanting the nominations are completely different. Blizzaga just thinks that the award will make him look bad, while Asia doesn't want to be nominated because it goes against her personal beliefs.

Also, might I mention that I'd probably feel different if you hadn't kicked up such a fuss about it, and had personally sent a PM to someone running the awards and explained why you didn't want to be nominated, instead of trying to get yourself disqualified, and kick up a fuss when your plan didn't go through.

Actually, the way I used is practically the definition of the word.

He's causing drama, in the process of trying to not win an award to do with causing drama.

Well it seems wrong. Lantean feels he doesn't deserve the award AND is being given it SOLELY in a derogatory fashion, which is quite true. What makes him so special is that many other nominees are not being given it for such a reason. Sugarpoultry may well be, and if she wished to be withdrawn, for the same reason, I would back her up the same as I do Blizz.

It definitely is. My ego is much bigger. If I were nominated for the award I would not be complaining because I know I would deserve it.
