[Need Help] More signature issues...

Alright, most of you are probably familiar with dragcave. For those of you that aren't, it's the site that gives out the dragon eggs and hatchlings that you see in people's signatures from time to time. Anyway, I've been trying to edit this egg:

into my signature, but it just tries to load for a while then gives me a blank screen with URL address "http://www.zeldauniverse.net/forums/profile.php?do=updatesignature", a page title of that same URL, and no source code. So effectively, a blank page. The signature was not updated.

Now, when I removed the image and replaced it with text (thus creating the "Image is broken >_>" link you see in my signature), it all worked fine. So, the offending code is : [img]http://tinyurl.com/6pvyw9[/img*] (without the * of course). Is this some sort of measure against something, or is it a problem? Just curious.

This might be a general image problem, I'm using the egg as an example. Besides which this thread is for advice, not flames. Please take your opinions to an opinionated area of the forum and avoid spamming up FSQ.

Well, you do know your signature would then become even taller, no? It already is pretty tall and annoying.

Anyway, upload the image elsewhere and try that.

I tried to copy and paste that into my web browser. Nothing is happening.
It's possible that there may be a problem with the link provided.
So, it's likely that the image IS broken.

Well, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. So I don't think it's a problem with ZU, but rather, where you uploaded the image to.

Try re-uploading it again to imageshack or photobucket.... and don't shrink it in tinyurl to see if that works. Maybe the place which is hosting the image is having high bandwidth and server problems?

Anyway, it doesn't appear to be a problem with ZU.

Actually, the same just happened to me, and the image I tried to put in was hosted on TinyPic.com, was 141 pixels in height and 351 in width, and I had it along with the link in my singature are what I tried to update to. I got an error message.

It has to be a problem with ZU, however, because the image worked fine when I put it in my signature at vgrc.com moments ago.

EDIT: Scratch that, it just worked when I tried a second time.

Which brings up the saying:

And I think it's a problem with the sites that shrink the URL's of images. Like, tinyurl, and tinypic. From what I see, everyone who has had issues, all have shortened URL's from such sites. Of course, I haven't been monitering ALL complaints, but it's just an observation from today.

I also see 4 images already, so I'm inclined to blame that.

Also, the image is at this location: http://tinyurl.com/6pvyw9 Not this one: http://tinyurl.com/5ulbra which is what you have in your signature. But the simple fact that it's from tinyurl would present a problem. Notice that the URL does not have ".png" or ".gif" or anything on the end.

1) I tried a non-TinyURL copy of the same pic and that didn't work after several attempts, so I doubt it's that.
2) I had NINE pictures from the same location in my sig up until recently, so it's unlikely to be inage volume.
3) Almost all the pics in my sig at the moment are TinyURL pictures due to space constraints, so the mere fact that it's from TinyURL can't be the source of the problem. *goes to try again a few times*

EDIT : Like a good , I've been doing some experimentation, and come up with some more facts -
1) After trying TinyURL code for the image in my sig, I had no luck.
2) After trying non-TinyURL code in my sig, there was also no luck.
3) After DELETING MY WHOLE DAMN SIGNATURE and using only the TinyURL code, it refused to work, so it's not a number of images thing.
4) After trying the non-TinyURL in an empty signature, it still failed.
