2D Original Fan-Made LoZ game supported by ZU.

I can't for the life of me find any information on this project. I assume it died, or lost official support from ZU when Lars left but either way I'd like to know for certain. A couple years ago, Lars made a news post on the main page about a promising 2D game coming out. I can't remember around what time it happened but I'm hoping anybody who was active then might remember.

I'm pretty sure it's the only game that's been "officially" supported by ZU so somebody must know what I'm talking about. Thanks.

Re: 2D Original Fan-Made LoZ game supported by ZU.

I think Ocarina of Time 2D was big at some point on these forums. TheRealMethusalah was one of the pioneers of the program, although others have stood forward to attempt an OoT2D.

Yeah, but there's been a lot of off and on 2D Zelda fun games, some unique, some basing themselves off the 3D games. They usually get to the demo point, are released, and then the developers realize that they have to endure 20 times the drudgery they went through to write the demo to actually finish a beta. Then they lose interest.

Darkness in Hyrule died, as far as I know...

Also, if I remember correctly, they left before Lars did.

Yup, that's it! I even found the old URL: http://zeldadih.zeldauniverse.net/

It's unfortunate that it died. Thanks for helping me.

You're welcome. Sorry I don't know more about the fate of the game, but I never paid much attention to fangames.
