ZUChat down? Temporary #zelda at Rizon

Hey, gnug's down- again.

Nobody really knows why it's down, or when it'll stop being down, or how often in the future it'll be down. But with the way things are going, it looks like it might be a semi-often occurrence. We thought that there should be a thread to address the problem when/if it happens again, so people know where they can go.

Last time this happened, some of the chatters went to irc.rizon.org's #zelda to hang out. Since this may happen again later on, now and in the future, the temporary new #zelda will at rizon whenever gnug dies. You can get there with this link that Hazz had graciously provided before, and typing in "/join #zelda" upon connection.

Alternatively, you can load up the usual ZU chat applet ( www.zeldauniverse.net/webchat.html ) and type in "/server irc.rizon.org"- it should take you to the new #zelda. :]

Nooooooo... Just as i was gonna be getting into it too. I only visited once so far but I've been reading up on the help section to get my lingo and commands up to speed. xP

It's usually pretty reliable.

But, a sticky would still be good.

You're actually wrong, irc servers go down ALL the time. The reason that it's so bad with gnug is that it only has one server, so when that one goes down, NOBODY gets in. :3

Rizon, for example, has over 10 servers, last I knew. When you're on that network and see someone's quit message as *.net split or something similar, it means that one of the servers has died, and everyone who was connected with that server disconnected. They will rejoin on a different server, chosen automatically at random.
