Re: Community Thread Discussion

Sear's Edit: Like the signature rules discussion, this was taking up a lot of space, so again, I brought it over here.

Anything that can be kept to a Private Message and is utterly useless (like a couple of the posts here already) will be deleted.

We had too many people racking up huge numbers of posts in here (myself included), and that was somewhat of a problem. Scott's (delted) post, for instance, was a relatively useless remark that could have been kept to a Private Message, or to himself, for that matter.

So now, unless it's absolutely integral that you reply to something (old friend returning, post milestone comment, etc.), then keep it to a Private Message.

I've deleted the posts before this, because they're just the kind of thing we don't need. If you want to talk about something like that, do it in the appropriate section.

We don't mean to sound evil or anything, but things were just too out of hand before.
Did you read that last message that I posted at the beginning? We're not tolerating useless posts like this in the Community Thread anymore. Put that stuff in your art thread or in the Signature Chit-Chat thread if you must show it off.

Posts deleted.

Your signature also has too much text. Three lines maximum.

Re: Community Thread Discussion

The Community Thread was never actually a place to spam or make pointless annoucnements. If you look, you can see that the rules state that it is simply for posting messages such as announcing you're on vacation, your birthday, post milestones, and other such related things. It never was intended to become a pointless discussion topic, however, considering that before this time there was no moderator that wanted to touch it, and that it was most likely too much work to be saved from "randomness" at the time.

However, with this newest version, you'll see that the rules have been changed so that short discussions that don't belong in their own seperate threads are not allowed. Most of the time they get big enough to warrant their own threads, and many of the posts could easily be kept to Private Messages.

If you're willing to post a significant announcement of some sort, then that's perfectly acceptable, as is commenting on someone else's announcement. However, posting things like you just did could have been kept to your own threads or other threads like Signature Chit-Chat.

There is no place for a spam thread at ZU. If you want to have short and useless discussions, then do it either by PM, or somewhere else.

Re: Community Thread Discussion

Seary knows that well. The point is that randomness topics are spam topics. At ZU we don't have those. Its forum policy.

BUT
They keep people from Spamming up the forums by making threads that don't need to be made.

Re: Community Thread Discussion

We are well aware of the supposed purpose of Spam topics. However, Spam defeats the purpose of this topic. It makes it jumbled and unorganized.

Sheesh, if you want to spam join a clan .

Re: Community Thread Discussion

Erm, no. If a person needs to spam, then they don't belong here. It does not help spam in other places of the board. Anyone who spams will do it in other places. There's no stopping that, no matter what, and the only thing that can be done is to moderate it.

This is turning into it's own seperate discussion...

*splits thread, brings it to Suggestions*

Re: Community Thread Discussion

If people want spam they do not belong in the clans, the CT, or the rest of the boards. Hey, if you want pointless and random things this is not the right place. I like how the mods are now getting through to all these spammers and their topics. It makes the boards a better place to have discussions and conversations.

If you like to spam, please, don't come to the clans. We don't need any spam...
