Graphics
Hey guys,
Just liked to say that I really enjoy your forums and website. I tend to hang around reading threads, but this is my first post. Just curious on what program you used to make the images for the main page as well as the upper part of the fora (sorry, bad habit, but at my fora, everybody calls the forum a fora for some reason). I've been pretty frustrated with the layout and design's that we've been coming up with at www.gamecatcher.net . The current one looks like crap, but works decently. Our old one looked like crap and worked like crap, but at least it was unique. We used to put all our articles in a thing called the gamecatcher magazine, but now want to just integrate them in the main page. It's a big mess. Basically we have no content, and we have a huge bloated forum where the only place getting any posts is Off-Topic (over 50,000 of our 85,000 posts). Sorry about the ranting and advertising, just wanted to know some strategies for designing a good looking web page, cause I'm obviously frustrated (and this has been happening for about a year, with only about 100 extra users). The other problem is that the civilization playing field is pretty much filled, and we really have no niche. Thanks for any suggestions. The current template is at www.gamecatcher.net . And here's a look at our former main page http://web.archive.org/web/200306230...mecatcher.net/ Thank's a lot ![]()

Re: Graphics
Thanks. I mainly did that crappy job with GIMP, and will probably stick with it, since I know it can do really good things. I know how to use the program, just don't know how to do good things with it
