"Change Avatar" problems

I've seem to run out of options.

For some odd and particular reason every image that I try to use for my avatar ends up in failure. I've been told countless times now that they're invalid file formats and I can only use GIFs or JPGs. The thing is though...THEY ARE GIFS AND JPGS!!! I've also tried changing the host and seeing if that was the problem, but I seem to have no luck there either.

Any possibility someone could actually tell me what the problem is, or actually fix it?

Yes, I had this trouble earlier today when I changed my avatar to the one InfestedBarbarian made me. Right now, I have it uploaded to the forums rather than linked from a website, although if you have an animated avatar, you may be out of luck due to size constraints...

Well, thanks for that Sear, but thankfully I was able to fix my own problem. Had to take a somewhat long approach to get to what i wanted, but got there anyway, heh.

Mine was okay when I uploaded mine. Dunno what the problem is.

I had the same problem when trying to remote link directly to my avatar on my own personal webspace, but as far as the forum was concerned it could not read the JPG file and therby came back saying it was invalid.

So I ended up uploading my avatar just to use it.
