Man, I love how my topic was locked

So like, is it a custom here to not be friendly to people who are just trying to help out your site? So what if your pronunciations aren't official. Don't you think you should try to go ahead and make them as correct as possible?

That's the last time I try to help out a fellow Zelda site.

He's referring to this:
His Thread

And SD was not trying to be unfriendly. Eh, he'll explain.

The thread was closed because the question/statement had been resolved. It needed no further input. One question: who from our site has gone and been over-critical of your fan site?

I think he's making a mountain out of mole hills, for something as small as this can trigger rage or frustration. Kids these days... *sigh*.

If you are really so keen on "perfecting" the pronounciations of the Zelda names and terms, you should just PM one of the admins and see what they say when you see your thread got locked.

Don't you just love how that thread you made was being a little jackass-y?

And so is this one. If you have a problem, just kindly PM one of the mods.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one suprised by that reaction...

Re: Man, I love how my topic was locked

Look, different people have different pronounciations of things. I'm from the U.S but I pronounce things differently, I have alot of french and italian in me and I can't exactly help it.

That *may* be a reason they aren't official yet.

But honestly I'm just guessing.

Re: Man, I love how my topic was locked

I think what SD was trying to say that the main ZU site already has a discretion notice posted stating that these pronounciations are not official and are subjected to mistakes, etc. And since the discretion notice has been posted to inform visitors of possible mistakes/confusions and so on, it would be fine left alone as it is.

And since over the years, only less than a handful actually complained about this kind of stuff, he felt that there was no need to go through all the pages for a small mistake.

I'm sure these pages will be updated when the main site gets a overhaul. One of these days.

Re: Man, I love how my topic was locked

Hirohiigo is right.

Apologies that your topic was locked, Hiro. However, I can assure you that the amendments you have suggested are being looked into and will most probably be implemented.
On behalf of anyone who wants the best for ZU, I thank you for your feedback and help =)

I hope that this little incident doesn't stop you from posting here again and/or continuing to offer your suggestions should you spot anything else.

Oh.. and perhaps this would make the mods rethink the way they deal with feedback/suggestions and slow down on the thread euthanasia thing. It would be pointless to have this forum (The feedback) if feedback is brushed off and scorned.

C'mon, Asia, say it like Superman.

"I hope this hasn't put you off posting, sir. Statistically speaking, it's still the safest way to communicate."

Re: Man, I love how my topic was locked

Well one of my threads were locked because I suggested a debate forum strictly for Zelda, then they said there was one already and I clicked on the link and it was random debate questions that had nothing to do with anything.

I couldn't agree with you more. I know not everyone's going to agree with every suggestion... but at least leave some room for discussion to humour the masses, even if you're eventually going to say no and lock it anyway.

Then it'll just be pure spams since:

1. The problem has been resolved and is in no need of further discussions.
2. "Humouring the masses" usually implies for ridicules, and I don't think you would like that if you are the one that's "humouring the masses" when others start to ridicule you.

If you know that the admins or mods will eventually (main point here) lock the thread, why bother keeping it open for humouring others?

AQ: The point here is that he shouldn't have made a second thread complaining in public when the main site HAS already stated that it's not official. The things that he pointed out, granted, is very kind of him to do so, are so small that it feels like he's being overcritical of the tiniest mistakes. And even more so, those "mistakes" are debatable. He could have just PM'ed one of the admins, for most of them ran the main site anyway. Smods are just for forums.

Making a second thread to complain with great sarcasm or the such isn't helping at all.

I think I remember that thread.

You said absolutely nothing about Zelda.

Just pointing that out.

Debate Forum? ?

I note that your post simply says that you want a debate forum, which we have already. Since the request was rather pointless, and we'd have thousands of people posting simply to say "We have one of those already" it was locked.

Now, you're always welcome to PM the mod who locked your topic and try to explain why it should remain open.

Anyways, for my two cents, I don't think that threads are locked too soon most of the time. If a specific question is asked, and then answerd five times is there really any reason to keep the thread open so that more people can post and say "Yeah, what they said"? Which you know is going to happen.
