Timelines

Timeline theorys really annoy me because there is so many of them in the forums. I think that a whole forum should be made for just timelines. What do you think?

That would be a good idea to have a theory forum just like Hylia. But the question is do we have a mod who knows enough about zelda to mod a forum like that?!?!? Just kidding.

The staff are actually discussing it already - how's that for coincidance?
I think it'll be good to put all of the Timeline Theories together, like we did with the Sprite Comics, and it'll make things a little bit tidier.

Now that you know you have support from members, I think that will make it a better option to say "yes."

The general zelda section basically is a timeline section anyway.

There are only about 3 theories "active" at a time anyway.

Not really more like almost like 10, and more will be made soon.

I hope there is a timeline section. I remember before, like a year ago there was hardly any timeline threads, now that a lot of theoriest are getting envolve there has been a load of them. They won't stop coming either!

And another thing that mods should also think about is that it's not fair that some of the theories that haven't been active in a few days start to fall back to the second page because other pointless threads like "would race do you want to be", (no offense) have way more posts. Having a section for theories will give them all the attention they need.

Correct. Theories need their own area, that way people won't be distracted by meaningless threads. It'd also allow new members looking for timeline discussion to find where they need to be right away. I say we need a forum for this.

I say we need it just because It's hard to sort. Really, every 3rd Thread is a timeline, It gets really annoying. So annying in fact, I can't even tell whats a timeline and a Zelda thread. So maybe either Make a new forum, or ban them From Zu, although I prefer the Forum Idea.

Ban timeline theories from ZU? Not a good idea. At least timelines are related to Zelda, unlike many of the other random topics lying around the forums.

Large threads like these are a huge annoyance, in my mind. They get repetitive, they're impossible to join in late in the thread's lifetime, and it's not Unknown's place to try making an official thread.

On top of that, Timelines are complex things that need to be individually analyzed and discussed to really get anything out of. They are the very last thing that should be jammed into one thread. So yeah. I'll be locking this tomorrow. And don't bother to argue, you won't be changing my mind.

That was why the thread didn't live. Timelines are too complicated to all be shoved into one thread and each need individual attention. And the thread was getting alittle bit big. And if I remember correctly there were threats or flaming or something like that. That's why they don't all go in one thread anymore.

An official timeline thread would be a much better decision in my opinion. There are only like 4 timeline thread out there right now. If you make a new forum for the timelines it would be empty most of the time.

edit: Never mind. DogDog is right. One thread for timelines would be a mess. Dogdog's post wasn't there when I was posting. After reading it, it changed my mind.

Like i pointed out in our discussion, a thread would get too cluttered to know what discussion was going on... so a whole forum would be the better idea...

Maybe we could put that in ASAP.

Like I already stated, a timeline thread would conflict theories, get cluttered after a couple of days, and would be the lesser of two evils.

A subforum in General would be the best way to go...

I agree on the forum/sub-forum for timelines. Not only would it be neater, it'd also allow for easier 'browsing' through and commenting on theories. It could also encourage others to share their ideas. With an entire forum for it, you know there'd be plenty of people reading and writing. So I say go for it (...not that I'd be a very frequent poster, though).
