ZU Home Page

Zelda Universe's Home Page takes FOREVER to load on my comp! Probably because I have dial-up, but most importantly because of the stupid ads with videos!! The ads are frickin stupid!! Also, the ZU white skin is becoming kinda boring. The old one was cooler. Well, I hope if Scott or another admin or mod comes by and reads this, they will listen to me and make some changes! Thanks for hearing me out.

Get Firefox if you don't have it, then get Fire-tune for Firefox. The page loads...well...not faster...but different, it seems faster. Also, there are thingies you can get to block the ads, but the ads are there for a reason, and its not to make Lee rich. Enjoy the site, and tolerate the ads. That's about all there is to it, IMO.

As far as the skin goes, isn't there a way you can revert to an older skin? I dunno. I'm sure Scott or whomever will change the skin sometime. These guys are volunteers, give 'em a break!

Or you could get programs to help. I have about 5 security programs, so I'm fine. Although those collage pop-ups are annoying.

And as far as the skin, I dunno. It could be changed again, but last time there was downtime and I didn't enjoy that..

Also, incase a mod sees this, whatever happend to a story that was on the old site? It was something about what happend after MM I think, but that may not have been it.. It was about 12 chapters long.. I really wanted to see if it was ever finished, and sorry if I'm not descriptive enough. But it was a great story.

I don't know if anything can be done about the ads, however there is a (relatively) new green forum skin available, and a classic navy blue skin.

If you're using the white skin now, there should be a drop-down menu to choose other skins near the bottom left of each page.

Ya know, the other day I was testing the green skin, and all day after I went back to the white, every Now and then I would press back and it would take me to when I last used the green skin, around 5:00 PM earlier that day. I don't know what Happend though, and it stoped now. But still, It was weird.

99% I'd say he's using half of the money gained from those ads to pay for the site and the other half he keeps it to himself to make money. That's what site owners of large sites do all the time.

Well, Lee has to make money somehow. He may be well-to-do, but if so, I don't think its just ZU that's providing him his money...And he has a family to support...

But why am I examining Lee's finances? Anyway, my point is that we get ZU for free, the best we could do is at least tolerate the ads, that's all.

We have no control on what ads we place on the main site...

However, as for the layout on the main page, I think Scott is planning on working on a new site layout when he gets back, if I remember correctly. But he doesn't get back til the end of August, and he also has college...

Okay. Sorry, I was a little mad back then... But the old skin for the home page looked a lot cooler. It was more... Cartoonish, which I thought looked nice. I know that Scott probably isn't going to put it back up again as a main home page thing, but I am going to pm him to see if he can at least put it as one of our forum skin options... And yea, I get that people have different priorities... lol, college seems so close to me now... O_o That's the day when our inner child's are destroyed...

Well, Scott said that he is making a green skin for the main site. So just have patience because skins take along time to make.

At the moment we have three skins for the forums... a green, blue, and white one. It's up to which one you use, though. You have that option.

I know, I'm just saying it would be cool if you guys put the old ZU Home Page skin on as one of our Forum Skin options...

You go to your user control panel and modify your options. If you scroll down there should be a way to choose which skin you want. You pick it, and click save. Then you will always have that skin applied when you log in.
