The Zelda Universe RPG?

I've just had a thought. How many of you guys would like you have your own RPG character on ZU? Nothing flashy just a little picture with stats next to it which you can train by battling monsters and fighting with fellow ZUers. You character will have a combat level and a veriety of stats such as Sword Skills, Shield Skills, Mace Skills, Axe Skills etc, etc. When you advance a level your stats increase and you gain a talent point for say Fire, Thunder, Earth, Water or whatever. When you kill a monster you could gain some sort of credit? ZU Gold? This is just a thought and i do not plan to code this RPG system since i know nothing about the coding of an RPG game. If anyone is able to make it out their would you guys want it on ZU or not? Also please vote in the poll.

I highly doubt it would work, especially for ZU. Any RPG system would not be able to fit the originality in characters created by members on ZU. Heck, you'd be having all these wannabe characters created by members who would probably leave ZU in a week, and then you wouldn't be able to put the name of your character because of "originality purposes". Trust me, it would never work. But good idea though. It's just that the variety of things in an RPG system wouldn't fit with the members of ZU, since it's really a matter of opinion if ninjas are better than cyborgs, or half-demons are better than vampires.

Also, spam would flood the entire forum if a "post for gold" system came along with it.

Ummmmmmm, it might work, and then again it might not.

I do not agree with a post for gold system. The RPG would be in no way connected to the forums.

Um, doesn't ZU already have an RPG?

I think so.

ZU has a Battle Arena. Not and RPG. I only made this board because i thought it'd be good for people to have something to do during the day when ZU is less active than it is in the later afternoon.

ZU used to have an RPG section, but it blew away in the wind because not many people paid attention to it. If that's what you are asking for, then we'd need the proof of knowing that the place would be very active (as active, or more active than the BA) to bring it back up again. Now if you are talking about something like what GT.com has, then I'd have to say a big N-O on that one. ZU likes the "professional" look: Small siggies, good sized avies, and the skin not flashy.

The BA is one big RPing heaven. I think what you're thinking of falls more along the lines of a point based battle representation system, unless of course you intend to act like your little character sprites.

Then why did you make a thread about it here?

A forum-tied battle system... "Forum RPGs," are SQL query heavy and nasty on bandwith. While I'm entirely certain our servers *could* handle it, I don't think it's worth the space at all.

If you want to "roleplay," go to the BA. If you want a little character thing... make an avatar... as for killing monsters, I don't have any suggestions for that.
