locking

back at hm farm you could lock your own post. I think that this would help. Plus, "mod, lock this topic" is more of a spam than a post.

Re: locking

I don't think that would be a good idea. At the forums you went to, the admins gave you that capability so you could lock it and make sure it stays dead, but we don't really need anything like that in these forums, because all threads lose their interes eventually.

Re: locking

... hrm. i don't know how much i like that.

assumingly, here, being able to lock your own topics means you can lock them too...

also, people could lock their threads when THEY think that it has grown to a point that they don't like, but which isn't against zu rules...

:::shrugs::: if a person really has a problem with a topic, they can just pm a mod...

there's always a point where a topic goes beyond the intent of a topic-starter (eg, bush debate to health insurance or something), but to lock it because of that isn't a very progressive idea...

Re: locking

You CAN set it to where only the person that posted the topic could lock it, along with moderators, but I don't really think that's a great idea.

Things seem to work fine as is.

Re: locking

Ok, what is it with Harvest Moon farm. Ok maybe you can lock your own post, but then would have n00bs going around here saying they are a strong power in the forums, thats not good!
