How do I put an image in my signature and avatar?
Alright, to stop the clutter once again in this forum, I decided to make a simple, but effective, view on the matter.
Putting images in your signature: It is very simple and follow these steps. 1) Create your image. But you probably already knew about that. 2) Sign up at a online photo storage site. There are many out there that are free to use and yet they are very under-utilized. Sites like: Photobucket ImageShack Or any personal storages you receive from signing up to services like Comcast. 3) Put your image on said storage site. If you use Photobucket or ImageShack, uploading your image is self explanatory. Online storages from Comcast and the like can be uploaded from their website or using an ftp:// link in your address bar (but that's more advanced) 4) Once your image is loaded, you can right-click the image, click properties, and view the address of the image, which you then can copy by highlighting and pressing ctrl-c. If you don't know that way, then they should also give the link to the image after upload, as well as when you look at the gallery of images you uploaded. 5) Put said image link in your signature by clicking User CP --> Edit Signature. Remember the [*img][*/img] tags (without the *'s)... Simple way. Discussion in this thread can be used to contradict me, as I simply put this together, or to add other easier means to uploading pics. For avatars, the process is more simplier. Go to the User CP --> Edit Avatar. You can either choose from the library of icons we have or scroll all the way to the bottom. There you will see Custom Avatar. You can either put the link of an image to put as your avatar, or click browse and find one on your computer to put there. This also works in posts. Instead of going to the User CP, just post. The IMG tags work in posts, too.

Re: How do I put an image in my signature and avatar?
I have a question if you have sig and you want to add like an image to it like for example I have a sig and I want to add an animation gift to it can I still add it because I'm trying to add one but it says its too big because I don't know but I took the url from the address box so is that why its too big I even uploaded it to photobucket then used the url from that and it still says its too big

Its one of 2 things: Either the image exceeds the demensions(400wx150h) or the file size is too big. Probably the File size.

I don't think there is a file size limit (i could be wrong, have to check).
But the dimensions of the two images combined cannot exceed 400x150 pixels.

Re: How do I put an image in my signature and avatar?
First of all: I can't read what you just said. It's undecipherable. You spells GIFS wrong.
Second: You are allowed two images in your sig. Two. Two. Two. Two of any file type. They BOTH cannot exceed 400x150. Therefore, if your sig is 400x150 pixels and your gif is 50x50, you have broken the rule, therefore it won't allow it. Comprende?

Is it now impossible to have two images in your sig blending side by side like this? It seemed to work before with the Wii sig I had, and I'm under the limit here, right?

Re: How do I put an image in my signature and avatar?
No, it's fine if the two images are side-by-side, as long as you don't have to link to more than two different *image urls* when you put your images into your sig. Theoretically, by doing the sort of thing you did with your avvy (making your own custom status image and having your avatar-within-an-avatar below it), a person can have as many images together as they want... As long as they don't exceed a combined total of 400x150 pixels and don't involve more than two actual separate images, we couldn't really care less. ^_^

Re: How do I put an image in my signature and avatar?
Well, if you have a look at the pixel dimensions of the pictures above, they are 114x100 and 286x100 which side by side add up to exactly 400x100. The only thing I can think of is if the vertical values are adding up and putting me over the limit (which they shouldn't be, since they're positioned side by side.)
I keep on getting this message: "1. Your signature image(s) are too large. The maximum dimensions are 400w x 150h in pixels and the maximum filesize is 0."

Re: How do I put an image in my signature and avatar?
Here are the basics of sigs:
400x150 pixels total for 2 images is allowed in a sig. If you have an image, you are allowed 3-4 lines of text. If you do not have an image, you are allowed 6-7 lines of text.
