Just an idea to throw around.

I think this might be a good idea, though I don't know if others would agree. I'd like to see shorter rules. The rules as they are now are perfect, but ZU is a community full of rule breaking losers and post whoring freaks. Now my idea would not take any emphasis off of the rules we have now, but be an alternative for those would are too lazy to read the damn rules.

How about a seperate section of a condensed version of the rules. Like a cliffnotes version of the rules. Explaining the rule in a minimal ammount of text, or none at all. I mean to understand the rule "No double posting" you don't need to have a paragraph explaining it. And then like links or something to the part in the original section of the rule to which it applies so if the rule is not understood fully, they could go there and read more about it.

Meh, just something I decided to put out there because it seems the lazy asses here don't want to be bothered reading that much text in the first place. I know I never read the rules. Though, since they don't read them now, I doubt they'd even be bothered looking at a condensed version.

Re: Just an idea to throw around.

A shorter version of the rules is in the works. It will in some ways make the Newbie Guide redundant, because they will contain explanations of all the rules, but they will all be made clear in point-form style so if you happen to know what flaming and spamming and such are, you won't need to read through a paragraph to get the idea. I don't know if it will cut down on spam, because most people who visit ZU are pretty young and aren't going to have the sense to abide by the rules anyway, but at least they'll be more convenient.

Re: Just an idea to throw around.

I believe this has been discussed before but on well. The reason that probably won't be done is because

A: More work for Admins

B: Covers things the bare basics don't

C: If people won't read the rules then they should still follow them. Shorter rules won't make many people read them

Yeah... who ever reads the terms and conditions on forums and video games anyway? :/

Well I find the rules to be just right in terms of size. Trust me I've seen bigger explainations of rules, than ZU has done, in other forums.

Why have a totally seperate page for each aspect of the rules when you can put that info in the space where the rule is mentioned?

Exactlly, people just don't care about the rules, they just do what they want. It's alright to have independence on a forum but you still have to use common sense and follow the rules.

I already gave a response. Do people ask questions of the staff and then ignore their answers?

Apoligies for my post after Searano's. Hers wasn't there when I began typing. And apoligies for it being wrong. I thought that's what was said on another topic.

So seary's a she now, eh? Yeah, there will be a prettier version of the rules relatively soon.

Well it took me a while to type that post out, so you posted when I was trying to get my post ready. Meh, it never hurts to say your opinion on this subject.
