New Site Logo?

Well, the site here is absolutely brilliant, its bright and attractive - and quite original looking.

But who exactly made the logo?

There are loads of graphic's masters here, you know the sig makers - and Photoshop experts. And I'm sure they could make an even better, striking logo. Theres people like Sizzlin' and PS2178. Theres many more experts, but theres some people of the top of my head. I may have a go at making a logo, as I have Photoshop and know how to use it. But I'm sure many other people can do much better.

So, if the admins agree on a new logo, created by the talented members here - how about a contest? People post there examples of logos, people vote for the one they would like for the site, and the winners logo is used!

So, what do you think?

Well, I personally don't think there should be a contest to create a new logo for Zelda Universe, primarily because it was just recently changed within the last six months or so, and it incorporates the current layout to a "T".
If there were a new logo, then the layout would have to change somewhat to deal with the new logo. Beh.

I love the idea of a contest, but sadida is right when she says everything would have to be changed to fit. Who knows, it could still happen.

OK, but maybe you could keep that in mind when its time for a change of layout, in the future?

And was it Lars that made the logo?

I'm pretty sure it was Lars who made it.

Still, when time does come for a new design (shouldn't be for quite awhile though) I'm sure the admins would like to do it. As a fellow webmaster, I can testify that making the layout is probably the part that's the most fun, and not normally a good idea to let other people to do parts of the layout (like a logo) that chances are, 95% of the time don't fit into the layout too well.

On a side note, Photoshop brush whores are not the kind of people to recommend to do site layout work.

Yeah i would be more than happy to do a new one for the site!

I think the current logo is fine. Considering all the possible changes that can be made in this site, it's nice to have at least one constant image.

Ok first of all you haven't been here long enough to say the logo is 'very old'.

Ha, well thanks for the reccomendation but I think it is a better job for the admins/mods like someone said earlier. Hey, maybe when it was truly time for a change some of the photoshoppers could make some mock-up ideas. Still, at this time I think the logo is just fine.

As far as I know, Lars got someone to make ZU's layout for him. I'm sure he paid the person.

So Lars most likely didn't make the logo. However, we do have the files for it... it's a fairly simple little vector. I happen to like it a lot.

And... this logo is most certainly not OLD. A few months old, perhaps, but definately hasn't been on the internet long enough to strike anyone as "old." And yes, if the logo were changed not only would the site have to be edited, but the news icons, staff images, etc. I think a new logo isn't coming until a new layout comes. Sorry.

People who simply make a logo, or a banner, for a site tend to make them too busy. I think the current logo/layout is very nice. It probably won't be changing for a while.

So... that means this thread is no longer needed. Thank you for your input.
