Zelda Smilies?

Well I have seen on other Zelda sites, they have Zelda Smilies, I think ZU should also incorporate the idea.

I know it might get spammy at times but if people obeyed the rules.

Is there a way to do this?

Sure there is, just implement zelda smilies in the site. But someone's gotta make them first and someone else's got to agree with the idea

It would be cool, but poeple shouldnt post them all the time and go <-- OMG LOOK AT t3h SMILLY OMG t3h coolies.

Personally I think they'd be a waste of time, but I have no problems if people really want to waste their time.

Anyway, I like the idea, it would be cool to have Zelda smilies

If people want to make them, by all means, go ahead. But, like lord-of-shadow, I won't be wasting time on it.

I don't see the point. They'd just look too big and extemely out of place from being big. Then text gets pushed down and things become more of a pain in the ass to read than they already are.

Seriously, do you think you can make a smiley that looks like Link and is the same size as our current smiley set? It's either going to look like him, or be reasonably sized, not both.

These were made by Links Gaurdian, I am using them as an example, thats how big they would be.

The ones that he made were moving.

Personally, I agree with Captain Cornflake. It's just a waste of time imo.

Well sorry to say but, you wouldn't be the first one to post this idea Ninboy. There was a thread called "An idea for the smilies" (Please don't post in that thread, it is about a month old) it's where the idea was sort of shot down. At first I was for the idea, but now I have no preference...however, I would have to agree with Sear when he said this comment in the previous thread:

You could just use sprites ripped from the games. In my opinion, that would be easier.

Yeah OK, I see what everyone is saying, they would be to big, but I am going to go get those small Zelda smilies and load them up in my photobucket account, maybe but that would take alot to do and my post count would go down alot.

Yes, it would be nice. Slightly.
(1)It would be good only if we replaced the existing ones, and I certainly wouldn't want to do all that work if they asked me to.
(2)The smilies would have to be animated like the current ones, and it's hard to make a smilie link, that looks like a smilie.

So, it would be slightly nice, but I'm not in favor of all that. If some Mod or Administrator finds it in their heart (or time schedule) to do, then fiddle-dee-dee, all is well. If not, well, all is well anyway.

I know these are ugly as crap - but if you could make link style emoticons
like these
then i think it could work and serve the same purpose.

The purpose of smilies is emotion, and just puttingin random characters isn't worth the mods time
but real emoticons would be kinda cool

You don't have to have the forum integrate the smilies to use them. You could host them yourselves or find a website that does this sort of thing and link to them as an image in your post. Of course, don't go overboard, and keep it simple

Yeah thats what I am planning to do, but it is not worth the time doing that.

So you might see them around or not.
