Post art/graphics change suggestions

I feel that art and writing is a bit of a forced subject, the two don't perfectely mesh.
In many forums, there are entire sections devoted entirely to graphics. ZU is more than large enough to have a small subforum to itself to graphics. This would allow for better organization and notice of threads. My simple suggestion is this: split the art and writing forum into art and then a seperate writing forum. Under this many improvements could be implemented. The sig shops could be moved undwer art where they should be and the BA could be under writing where it should be.

In all:
A- graphic forum should be created from the art and writing and it should encorperate sig shops.
B- writing should have all of its appropriate subjects within it.

another suggestion would be the sig limit. Some mods use the excuse that a higher limit would hinder those on slow connections... This is why they are wrong

A- People on slow connctions do not deserve the internet, they hinder it's progress by forcing people to accomindcate for them.
B- http://www.zeldauniverse.net/forums/...do=editoptions You can disable sigs and avis

Both of these have been brought up on numerous occasions yet the administration has made excuses for no action due to sloth. Change would not be horribly hard, simply make a new forum category and change the name or "art and writing" to "writing" and hire out a few members to move threads if you feel there is a need(though really there sin't as threads would die any way, there is a 30 day limit and I beleive that most threads in the art and writing don't go past 30 days oon the first page)

Re: art/graphics change suggestions

We alread have Artwork, Fiction and misc. writing as subforums under art and writing.

Big siggs are ugly. So are most animated ones. Most of the animated ones that aren't ugly are annoying.

I like to see siggs. They make it easier to remember who people are.

Re: art/graphics change suggestions

I wouldn't say this is an uggly sig...

allow me to look at the art/writing section though.

I don't think it really gets huge attention. really it could stand a split, it wouldn't even require a huge amount of work.

Re: art/graphics change suggestions

Graphics are a form of art. Art goes within it's respective section. Other members post thier graphic threads there and name/mark them appropriately, so you can do the same. I don't see what the problem is. We just modified the art and writing section, it doesn't need to be done again to suit a minority.

Okay, so what if some forums have thier own graphics section? Some don't. Some forums have signature rules more strict than our own. Some forums have them disabled altogether. I say if we split the sections, we must also remove signatures, since that's what other forums do.

Honestly, I don't see why it is that you need a massive space to put your name underneath your posts. Our rules are fine.

As far as that image goes, zelink, just rotate it 90 degrees and reduce the size by 25% and it will be fine.

Also, the Art and Writing section is rather active. It gets plenty of attention.

What a positively brilliant argument. Not everyone can afford high-speed.

Re: art/graphics change suggestions

I hardly dare to suggest zelink made a valid point at all in here, but moving the signature shops subforum into Art and Writing seems appropriate.

Re: art/graphics change suggestions

zelink: That image you posted above is nice.
That "sig" you posted above is hideous.

Image is not sig, just as fabrics aren't clothes.

Edit: To elaborate that example:
Fabrics might look stunning and beautiful, but if you wear them as a carpet over yourself, you won't look good. At all.
If you do edit them and make them into clothes, they will look okey, but clothing has a few guidelines, you must be able to wear it, and it must look good.
One won't be able to wear a giant-sized sweather.
